Location near tube station
Very small lift and a tiny staircase (God help us in case of emergency) Very poor breakfast (no eggs) Very small bathroom with only hot water running at the bathtub (we had to call maintenance every time we had a bath) Window insulation inadequate
Extremely small rooms and bathroom. No coffee machine. No refrigerator. Breakfast not include.
Very close proximity to underground at Bayswater, and to local shops and restaurants. In-house food also very good.
Only one lift, and very small. Not a great problem, but one which might be addressed in the future.
The location which is close to 2 underground tube stations (Queensway and Bayswater), near Whiteleys shopping mall and lots of restaurants along Queensway, close to Paddington which provides express train service to Heathrow airport, near Hyde Park and only a couple of stops away by bus to Oxford Street.
Rooms get smaller on the upper floors and lift is small and can accommodate only 2-3 people at any one time.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Close to bayswater tube. Friendly staff.
the single room is tiny and cold. Wi-Fi is weak.
Control of the heating Good hot water Location I've stayed here before upstairs and it is dated but comfortable enough for the price. However, the single room in the basement was woeful
Shower extremely small. I'm small too but couldn't avoid the clammy shower curtain Noise not only from the street but I could hear people next door talking normally I think I was next to a staff room or 20+ people were staying in one room
reception was very nice and staff excellent
rooms were a throw back from the 80's in need of updating wallpaper ripped off all over bedroom and beds were lumpy and stained
Staff friendly the only fault is the hotel needs décor attention
There was nothing to dislike
excellent location, nice reception staff welcome and easy administrative check-in. Good value for money room and breakfeast.
at checkout, one of the young man reception staff member was not even speaking and looking at me while printing out and handing over the printed bill... not exactly a nice customer acknowledgement.
Proximity to Bayswater underground and easy walking to shops and cafes.
small room (double) for £128 seemed steep. No breakfast included either. Don't use the lift it is TINY! Bathroom was clean but very old - showed was a dribble. Next time I'll opp for a chain is I'm paying that sort of money or spend more and aim higher
Nothing what so ever
The location - it is very good for tube and Kensington gardens
The hotel - it was a terribly small room. The toilet didn't work properly when we arrived and broke completely on second day. We were told they had to wait to get someone to fix it!! Not offered another room and no apology given by staff. On check-in staff very unfriendly and not much better on check-out - again no apology about plumbing.
Central to tube stations and local supermarkets and shops, kids loves Hyde park. There are two family rooms in hotel and we had the one on the top (5th) floor, was great we could open windows and ventilate room and thankfully were away from other guests, as 1900 hotel room walls are thin and noise travels, we were worried our kids would bother other guests. Small 2 man lift, manageable with kids. Nearby Malaysian restaurant yummy.
Room was very small, no bathplug (we purchased our own to bath kids). No fridge in any of the rooms was a bit of a shock, and we had to make do purchasing cold drinks. Even though all rooms non smoking on this level, other guests did smoke, and it filled the narrow corridors.
The hotel is within 2 minutes of 2 tube stations, great for getting about central London. Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and Albert Hall all within walking distance. Lots of restaurants near by, nothing too expensive. Malaysian restaurant in the hotel was very nice as well. Lots of mini-markets/convenience stalls near by. Staff were friendly. Hotel was quiet.
Rooms are small, but perhaps no smaller than your average London hotel.
Paid to upgrade to refurbished rooms - found ours to be poor location - "below street level - very noisy at night", Water damage to ceiling & lower walls. Very marked walls & crooked fittings on walls. Observed several other guests voice same/similar concerns. Reported some concerns to Reception & asked for someone to get back to us but nobody did. In Lobby observed several staff "walk over or around" a tissue dropped in the middle of the floor" - how could you miss it! Upon departure, not asked how our stay was.
Good location with plenty of restaurants closeby.
Bed too hard, room in state of disrepair, shower too small overall needs a major refurbishment.
We liked the convenient location to the tube stations.
The breakfast was mediocre at best.
I was told I was being moved to a better room, what was the other like. The carpet is dirty and I could hear everything outside with the windows closed. Not 3*
Location great for seeing London sights
Tiny noisy rooms
The location of the hotel is really great. It is near to the Hyde Park and 2 underground stations (Green and Red lines). If you take green line train you will be at Paddington station in 5 minutes where you can take trains to Windsor and Oxford. The hotel itself was good - perfect hotel if you don't need a luxurious room for your stay but you need a standard clean room with TV, wifi, safe box, tea and coffee set you live during your stay in London where you can take rest. Staff at the front desk are great, they are really helpful.
I lived on the 4th floor, wifi signal was sometimes weak. But if you go downstairs it works perfectly.
We were so close to everything, first time in London and were easily able to find hotel (tube to station and very short walk to hotel) it was very central, shops restaurants and buses close by
The hotel is perfectly located for travelling in and around the City. Easy to find and fairly pleasant staff.
Rooms are very run down. Wi fi only works fully in bar area. Not enough hangers in wardrobe Bath was chipped, tiles falling off in places. Don't expect too much from the hotel and you will not be disappointed .
They didnt provide me the room which I have booked. They placed me at underground floor. The very bad smell and noise at the street were terrible. The girl at the reception was agressive. She didnt like to repeat the words when she was explaining something. The breakfast was included in the room price but the provided breakfast was terrible and very poor, nothing to eat. Wi fi didnt work at the room, worked at the reception only. No menu bar, no refrigerator.
