I am sorry to inform you all that my stay at Berjaya Hotel has been terrible, the room we had ( room 11) was nothing to do with our expectations. Our key lock didn't work for 4 days and we had to ask at the concierge to open the door every single time we came back or left the hotel. We stayed for 4 days and if we only had known that the room had been so miserable I can assure you that we would have never chosen your Hotel. It's not a very wise policy to take advantage of customers they way you have done.best regards Carolina tettamanzi.

Berjaya was well located in a spectacular street with close proximity to underground and park. The facilities and room were over-hyped in the promotional material and did not meet expectations as in other hotels we booked. The lack of breakfast provision in the tariff and charging for wireless internet were both aspects we missed compared to other hotels we stayed in.

The only thing good about this hotel is the location, situated right on Kensington Gardens with Hyde park and Buckingham place just up the road. Queensway station is less than 100m away so getting to the shopping district of Oxford Circus is easy and quick on the undergroud. The staff are lazy, rude and just plain unhelpful. I struggled up the entry stairs even though there was a bell boy doing nothing, he just watched on and didn't help. When I got to the counter there were 3 staff, one was serving, the other 2 were not but didn't attend to me for 5 minutes. Then I had to carry my own bags through narrow hallways and find my own room. Got to my room and there was a staff door next to it, It slammed over and over again for the next hour with loud voice talking, so very loud. Complained about it but the staff did nothing. Asked for an adaptor for my phone cords but they didn't have one for Australia. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in and I been to many hotels in many countries.

Location: a few metres from Hyde Park The floor of bedroom had multiple stains and it was uncomfortably cold during the night. The blanket lent on demand was also stained. One day at 9am it was not possible to get warm water in the shower. The tv had only 7 working channels. Moreover, the breakfast was not included in the rate. It was much too expensive for the poor quality presented.

The room was small but the decor was good, the bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect, Bayswater stop on the underground, lots of shops and cafes in the immediate area. Right near Kensington and Hyde Park. Very clean and comfortable, had tea and coffee in the room. Bathroom was good, but shower only, no tub.

The location is absolutely excellent. The room was clean, the bathroom had a bathtub. I thought it was a joke when the reception clerk said the WiFi costs 15 GBP per day; unfortunately, it was not. The hotel interior looks somewhat worn out. On the first morning of our stay, we got woken up by the hotel alarm at 6:20 AM and the staff made us all leave the building immediately. My friend was then standing outside the hotel just is her T-shirt, barefooted, holding her little son on her arms, and even though I asked the staff to lend her at least a blanket they wouldn't help and did not seem to care at all. After some 15 minutes the alarm sound abated and we were let back into the building. No apology, no explanation.

The exit...........and I am not a disgruntled traveller, I had a great weekend despite the hotel, it is extremely overpriced It is right beside hyde park, if thats what you came to see you may want to take your chances on a park bench. Dont be fooled by pictures it is an absolute over priced kip. If you have had the misfortune of already paying for the hotel don't compound your loss by eating there

The staff in the reception was rude. Even though we had booked from September (check in 29/12/2011) they tried to give us a room in the second floor under the ground. It was a room without window where we could not breathe. We had a big fight and the result was to give us the same night a small dirty room in the second floor and the second night we’ve been moved to the fourth floor. During the check out they charged us in euro with a very high exchange rate. Also they did not give us an invoice. We forgot to ask it but I think that they are obliged to give us the receipt.

Booked this hotel last minute as we had a mixup with our return train tickets. We had booked a theatre/hotel package and stayed at the hotel next door for two nights and needed a nearby hotel for a third night. We paid 62pounds for a classic double. The room was fine for the price we paid. Had we been staying longer would have upgraded to a superior room. This hotel was half the price of the hotel next door and in my opinion much much better.

In a stressed market of hotel "offers" possibly not too bad. A typical London paradise for lilliputians and especially for those, who are fond of labyrinths. Worth rather unacceptable in comparison to many other European capitals.

The bar area was comfortable and for Central London the room was relatively quiet through the night. The room was small but adequate for one night but the ensuite was completely unacceptable. The space was so small that you had to sit on the lavatory to be able to use the wash basin and then your knees were either side of the pedestal and up against the wall.

The staff are good and helpful. The room is neat and clean but pretty small. The location is fantastic, close to 2 tube stations, Bayswater Undergorund Station and Queensway Undergorund Station. The toilet is too small and the toiletteries are so limited. The breakfast need to improve especially on halal food.

The hotel was placed near Hyde Park and Oxford Street. Good location. We got clean towels every day and made up bed every day. That was nice. We got woken up by the fire alarm 09:00 in the morning two mornings in a row. Apparently that was because of some toaster. The last night we were woken up in the middle of the night at 03:00, again because of the fire alarm. I read on booking.com that only 1 month earlier the same thing had happened, but I just hoped that it would not happen to me. People stood out on the street for 30 minutes. Some only had towels around them and others had their pajamas on. The staff didn't seem to care at all. We got no information about the fire. They didn't care at all. Everything else was fine, but they seem to have some problems with the fire alarm.

The staff were very helpful. I did not like the size of the bedroom and bathroom. There was barely enough room to have a shower. Also the lift was too small, only taking 2 people. If there was a fire the stairs would also be a problem for guests to get out.

The reception area is quite nice The room was extremely basic, the bathroom blind did not work properly so had to try fix it closed as best as possible for privacy. The hotel walls are very thin and you can hear into the next room so it isn't very private. Our friends that we booked the hotel with did not stay with us due to maintenance issues in their room, we were told about this in the early hours of the morning by an unhelpful receptionist, this should have been advised when we checked in. Therefore we feel that the honest reason had not been advised as to why they had to go to another hotel, this affected our stay there as we had plans the next day which we had to slightly change due to this disruption. The room rates are very expensive for what you get, really not worth the money you pay to stay here.

Nothing except the good food nearby. Be warned : Misleading room photos. Good looking hotel entrance and reception, then you see the lift only fits 2 persons. After that you open your doors to a storeroom-sized bedroom, creaky bed, toilet is so small the door only opens halfway and hits the sink. Weak shower. Tiles broken and falling apart. Parts of toilet have black grime. Hot, stuffy and no air conditioning. Open windows but it is loud outside at night. Quality is substantially below what you see in the photos; when I complained at check out even the Reception guy admitted other guests in the morning complained to him the rooms are not as advertised. This is budget backpackers charging 3-star rates. Take your money anywhere else but here, unless they offer $20/night.
