Interesting decor. Secure parking. Pleasant location. Service at dinner and breakfast was slow. Potato at dinner was raw. A substitute was found and once the manager came on the scene at breakfast service was greatly improved. There seemed not to be enough staff on duty to deal with the guests.

The location was superb. The bed very comfortable. The room well lit and designed. The bathroom wasn't too small or awkward to use. The room and bathroom were too warm. There was no way to turn the thermostat down further. On the night that my Dad and I stayed, there was a party in the hotel's restaurant. We stayed in rooms 14 & 15 on the first floor and the noise level was horrendous! I think that there's a terraced bar as well. I was still awake at 01.30hrs.. In addition, the walls seemed to be quite thin and after the bar noise subsided a woman seemed to be 'enjoying' herself in the room next door!! Not a very restful night disappointingly..!

Very close to the best parts of Bristol. Reasonable overnight secure parking price. Not bad for a nights stay A bit of a mix up over rooms, but the staff were very helpful. Room looked a bit tired, but was comfy enough. Was there for just one night, but it was ok for what it was.

Staff were excellent and friendly. It was very difficult to get the radiator to turn off in the room. It took two attempts by the staff. Breakfast was average. Buffet section was variable day to day. Having fresh fruit salad was a plus, but it was not available evy day. Cooked breakfast was very good. Car parking was not good, as I could only get a spot allocated to neighbouring business, meaning I would have to move the car next morning. Fortunately I was able to find one empty slot later in the evening. Some form of reservation would be much more appropriate.

Excellent location, smart/professional and friendly. Had Parisian/boutique feel. Whilst standard of bedroom/bathroom was good - both were very cramped e.g. bed up against a wall !!

I liked that the rooms were clean, warm and i had a lovely view to the square. I loved the attention to detail: a couple of chocolates next to our cups every day, a bit of sherry with two glasses, facilities for tea and coffee made all the difference. I loved the receptionists who were great. I loved the food in the restaurant on the ground floor.

Friendly staff, central location and very well-designed, bright and modern interior. The room was also very quiet indeed and the bed comfortable. Powerful shower Allergy suffererers should beware that the pillows and duvets are better if you can stand feathers. Otherwise you get stuck with a blanket and flat pillows that have seen better days. Parking is a problem if you are not there on a Sunday or Bank holiday so you have to pay for the hotel garage. Although it has a good restaurant the scrambled eggs were overcooked and didn't do their reputation justice. Bathroom V. nice but tight on space.

Great location, right in the hub of the city, but located in a lovely quiet square of georgian buildings. The hotel is nice and clean, I wouldn't exactly call it luxury but it is comfortable. The dvd played didn't work and we were not offered a replacement; because the hotel was hosting a new years eve party they could not lend us an ice bucket; there was no fresh fruit provided despite this being advertised; although fresh tea leaves were provided there was no tea pot or tea strainer; the kettle was too large to fit in the sink; the large double bed was actually two singles pushed together!

Car parking Who gave 4* to this place? All negative points left by other reviewers are sadly true! Very old hotel, corridor-like room, loud clubbing music until 2am, bathroom terrible, walls and doors dirty. To be honest I was waiting to see cockroaches to complete the whole picture. For heaven's sake don't waste your money there.

Friendly efficient staff, garage Party on a Thursday night in the basement caused difficulty in sleeping. However, it was a Christmas party, and when I complained about the base line of the music it got better, and I slept!

I am a regular guest of this hotel on business trips. Hence, I selected it when visiting family in Bristol. Location is fantastic - in Clifton, close to an excellent range of restaurants, bars, etc. Decor, cleanliness and food are of a high standard. Some rooms are quite small, but still very comfortable. Rooms with a view of Berkeley Square are nicest. Nice touches in the room include a small carafe of sherry and bowl of fruit to welcome guests, plus leaf tea and fresh ground coffee. A thoroughly pleasant hotel! Although not expensive, there is a charge for internet connection
