Leisure facilities excellent and clean also open till 9.30pm which was a bonus as it gave us time for a full day out and availability to relax on return to hotel Staff all very friendly and helpful Parking on site
The staff were helpful and welcoming. Lovely room and a comfy bed. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly go back again.
Nothing to criticise
The staff were absolutely wonderful. The little queries we before our stay - card for booking didn't work, my fiancé arranged sparking for the room, changes to the room type - were happily accommodated. We are at the restaurant - pleasant service and good food.
Food nice. Bed comfortable. Secure car park.
Thin walls (lots of noise until late).Small rooms
Although it was supposed to be a 2 pm check in (getting married at 2:30 pm was going to be a problem) they allowed me access at 12 pm. Every member of staff was cheerful and helpful. The receptionist, even though they were very busy, remembered and congratulated us next day. Rooms where large and comfortable, very clean.
Furnishings where badly worn and shabby in the room. The bedroom was boiling hot, I know its December but it was at a very high temperature.
everything about it from staff to the pool,to the bar just brill
not one thing
Hotel tidy, staff friendly
room small, would be a bit of a problem for an overweight person!!
The staff were fantastic, bar one, especially Emma who made me and my pregnant wife feel extremely welcome and comfortable, going out of her way to help us and even put my wife's unfinished desert in the fridge until later that evening. Many thanks. Four poster bed was one of the comfiest beds I have slept in.
No slippers/gown provided for the spa and pool area, and when I asked for some I was told quite flatly by a balding chap that we couldn't have any as I wasn't a "package" customer. Disappointing when we had paid extra for the executive room. Staff rating would have been excellent had it not been for the guys attitude.
Helpfulness of staff, facilities, food and service. What's not to like? I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
not a dislike just an observation - hot rolls with dinner, and make sure tea, coffee and toast served HOT at breakfast.
Nice bar and restaurant, pool is very nice also
rooms next to the road are very noisy with the traffic
The wonderful friendly helpful staff.
We loved the old building it oozed character. Although one new addition is the splendid pool which is a bonus. The food was delicious both at breakfast and dinner.
The bed was a normal double, rare now in hotels. we struggled a little with this. Despite this we would stay there again.
Family room for 3 excellent, good size, meal in bar was very good and couldn't fault the full English breakfast. Enjoyed the pool and steam and sauna rooms. Good location for trips to Harrogate and Ripon.
The room was a bit too warm during the night even after turning the radiators off. This is only a minor niggle which I am sure would have been sorted if I had reported it.
Same menu 2 nights running
warm pleasant staff, excellent evening meal and breakfast. our second visit and the standard is still very high!
nothing to dislike.
I was told the Manager would call us to follow up on a botched 50th meal in the restaurant. I didn't get a call
The hot breakfasts were wonderful. The bedroom we had was a good size and very comfortable but too hot. Some other guests we spoke to were less complimentary. about.their room. We would use the Hotel again if in the area
Dinner menu not extensive if staying for more than a couple of nights and perhaps a bit expensive. The wine on offer also a bit OTT price wise
4 poster bed
Out of character modern bathroom
Quirky and - has character, in a good way - not bland! Great service at breakfast, easy parking. Comfy bed, crisp sheets and plump pillows!
Light shining through bathroom window - could do with a blind
Front of house service is excellent, building is beautiful and pool etc very good
Service in restaurant was poor, one dish (salmon en croute) the pastry was of unacceptable standard, the system of transferring expenses onto room bill was very inefficient- we had more than one occasion when others bar bils were on our bill.
Excellent hotel ,Staff very friendly, enjoyed the Leisure facilities. Food good value and very good. Excellent value for money will stay there again when in the area.
If you want a traditional coaching inn this is the hotel for you. Great for exploring the Yorkshire dales close to Knaresborough, Harrogate and Ripon. The facilities are great and the food is not bad.
Nothing really not to like although the hotel has no lifts which is ok if you only have a small amount of luggage.
We liked the staff very much, so helpful, and enthusiastic about the reason for our visit to the area.
There was nothing I didn't like. Even my elderly mother enjoyed her stay.
