Nice hotel and friendly helpful staff. Very good choice at brekfast
Rooms far too small. Asked for a different room, given one that was bigger but very dark, frosted glass window that didn't open, noise from generator or something kept us awake
The house keeping staff entered the room at 9am when we were still in bed, she said she would come back later. She did at 10am when we were getting ready for breakfast. You dont have to check out until 11 am so we thought the 2 attempts of entering the room by the housekeepers was unacceptable
Staff were great. Food was great. All was good
Animals in hotel. To be told by owners they sleep on beds. Rooms a little on the small side.
Location is very good and general standards are good.
Would have liked better choice of beers, ie fosters/Carling/ Carlsberg/ Budwiser.
* Location - good for lights *St Ann`s and Lytham *Nicely decorated * Room nicely decorated * Breakfast great * Very good price and value for money
* Bar too expensive £6.00 for a glass of wine - went to local pub after first night * Rooms poorly sign posted so ended up trailing about looking for room with cases * Small car park but can park on the road over night
We came as a group of 12 but couldn't sit down for breakfast as a group. This is the only place I've stayed at where the breakfast room is not big enough to accommodate the number of people who stay the night.
Only saving grace of our stay were the excellent breakfasts and good location of hotel.
This hotel has no lift! On arrival we were directed up 2 flights of narrow, steep stairs to a room on the 2nd floor which was the smallest hotel room we have ever had. My wife (72) has angina and I (74) have chronic bronchitis, which meant getting to our room was a bit of an ordeal. Not recommended for mature people.
The room was very comfortable but a bit chilly.
We were on the top floor and there is only a lift to the second floor.
Loved the sea view changed all the time quiet and peacefull just what we needed .
Nothing everything was just what we were looking for and more . Cud not find any fault
My (£3000.00) bicyle was looked after, a member of staff opened the doors early morning I kept this in the room after taking part in a charity event - my bike is of course clean. I would stay again but I would be careful about price variation laid £94:00 others paid £48:00, one thing about this hotel is trust as I paid upon leaving, being slightly fatigued from the night ride I enjoyed a coffee and their background music before leaving, unlike some there did not seem the urgency for us to leave - a busy day here Monday otherwise I would have stayed a second night.
The breakfast was not 100% two items we preferred not to have and were not offered an alternative, some staff were not welcomoming and not dressed, not sure if they were local, you can always tell good Lancastrian hospitality - it's second to none, I'm not Lancastrian
Good location and breakfast good.
view from room was a brick wall making the room very dark.
Barmaid and night porter very polite and obliging. Wifi easy to connect to. Comfortable lounge and bar
Room small. Shower head loose through wear and tear, needed replacing. Toilet blocked on arrival. After it was cleared it was still A weak flushing toilet, requiring several flushes to clear some tissue. Witnessed lady at reception requesting a room with a king sized bed, but being shouted to by a lady in the office that if you "order a standard double, that's what you get!" . she eventually deigned to leave the office and come to the counter to discuss the situation properly. Very disappointing to witness.
Very small double bed Hard uncomfortable pillows. Very small bathroom.
Clean sheets. Quiet room. Good dining room staff who replaced a poor steak when I complained it was overcooked. Nice location on the beach. Shops within walking distance.
Old décor and lumpy/peeling paintwork in the stairwell. Old style multi-level landings. Fully enclosed bathroom with poor exhaust fan. Black mould in the shower. No power sockets near bed for laptop or phone chargers. Slow Wi-Fi. Poor landing lighting...old style compression buttons on the wall. Inadequate car parking spaces in the forecourt but roadside spaces available fortunately.
Riom ok just bit small Locarion good
Was disapointed with breakfast what i ordered was cold sent it back but didnt enjoy it
Bedroom bathroom well below par.... very grotty!!
Nice restraunt good leisure facilities close to ammenaties
Climbing three flights of stairs being put at back of hotel next to generator and down a dark corridor
Position on beach is lovely. The staff are charming and helpful. Breakfast was adequate and nicely served.
The bedroom was cramped, dark and in dire need of updating. The shower was elderly and dangerously difficult to regulate. The loo did not flush properly. The lights failed one evening (my husband found the trip switch in the corridor). One bulb had gone but was not renewed despite reporting our first day. The bed was hard and the duvet stiff. Downstairs has been decorated, but upstairs is very shabby.
Spacious room with great sea view. Had excellent meal at night and enjoyable drink in reception hall.
Getting served at breakfast was poor on both mornings. This is not a slight on the staff who were doing their best but I would say its down to either not enough staff in kitchen or serving. This is the only complaint In an other wise enjoyable stay
Good location and ample parking. Attractive public rooms and plenty of space for moving around. Breakfast was excellent and so nice to be served and surrounded by staff so traditionally and smartly dressed. Staff friendly and efficient
Although there is a Lift one still has to face quite a few sets of stairs to negotiate. However, as a person in his upper seventies with health challenges this probably reflects my personal circumstances rather than any more general criticism of the hotel.
Card key to open room door didn't work. Toilet would not flush properly. Room was small and too warm.
Quite a contrast to nearby Blackpool. Quiet position, good facilities and helpful staff
Quite an old fashioned hotel and decor but smart enough
Booked for 3 nights left after one night. Got my room request wrong. Staff not very helpful. According to message left on answer phone, on return, we hadn't arrived at the hotel. What a mess. I don't think I will stay in a Western again.
The staff are very helpful and friendly rooms are comfortable and clean really good experience
The bar prices are quite high
Excellent service. staff very helpful and friendly. breakfast superb
