The bed and services
We are a young couple traveling on New Year's Eve and was after a lovely place to stay. So we stayed here over New Year's Eve night. Even though there was a wedding happening at the hotel the staff were fantastic. Good food and drink
All was good!
Warm welcome and staff
Hot breakfast was served before we were ready.
The service and comfort .
Breakfast times , 7.30 till 9.00am , this was on a Sunday morning , they could at least extend by an hour .
Dinner was extremely well cooked! Service was very good in all F&B areas and good for reception.
They didn't find our booking at check in. It all got sorted quite quickly, but was a little inconvenient.
The staff were excellent including the reception but especially the bar staff and waiters who deserve a special mention
Bedrooms can be warmer than I would want.
Check-in was poor, I waited for about ten minutes just to get seen. Then the room, well I think a child would have been ok, a double it was not, far to small if you turned to quickly anywhere you hit something! TV didn't even swivel around to face the bed and then you had to get around it to get into the very small bathroom, which had half a bath that you couldn't even sit in! WI FI in room did not work on any of my three devices's and I'm not computer dummy! When I asked about the issue the answer was "oh well mine's working here in reception!!! Bar was not much better very limited choice of drinks! All this for staggering £95 !! Best just avoiding!
Evening meal, excellent, fresh and well presented
Breakfast stagnating in steam
Wi if and downstairs layout
Upgraded to a deluxe room overlooking flat roof, ducting and within the incessant drone of kitchen extractor. The bathroom smelt of sewage as did the toilet in the next bedroom I was moved to. Was charged the deluxe room rate for a normal room. I was part of a group and we had a dinner for over thirty people. The food was awful, a steak pie ? The sauce was served in a dish and separately a rock hard oval frisbee of pastry. The sweet was apple pie, the perfect choice after steak pie? A very disappointing stay.
Location very good,breakfast good,room satisfactory.
Set menu for Half Board limited.
The efficient handling of my complaint when overcharged and the refund then given. Excellent room
The too speedy removalof the buffet and being told that the toaster would be available, only to find that it was not.
arrived earlier than expected and staff rushed to get room ready for me, held my gift to the wedding couple behind desk (saved me from running up stairs), breakfast was lovely
window on fire escape so couldn't open, certain staff seemed to want to serve at their speed and only when really needed to!
Convenient location, good staff, good food.
Room on this stay (117) was small for a double room.
The staff at breakfast were very good, polite and professional
The air con didn't work properly and was so uncomfortably hot and stuffy. The room was very small with the added z bed which was very uncomfortable. You couldn't open the wardrobe door when the z bed was in the room or hardly get to the window. The lower window only opened an inch as opened onto a walled area. The sink had a very large crack in it and felt very un hygenic. Only 2 cups and glasses in room being occupied by 3 people.
Lovely location & staff very helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble & the food was excellent. Bed comfortable.
Just a very hot weekend & the room was a bit stuffy, but would definitely stay again
We asked to be moved away from event noise - and we were re-roomed.
Checked in at about 3.30pm and were informed that there an evening function until 1.00am. Asked for room change from above event (Room 116) and given the smallest attic room with the smallest bed, no bedside lights as room too small. (Roon 244) Noisy car park after event.
Fair size room, for a pub hotel food very good, and rooms are comforatable and modern, as well as modern clean bathroom. WiFi free and works fine.
Food and service in the restaurant was great and the location was good. The décor in the downstairs area was good - really nicely done.
No aircon in the room and the fan was insufficient - window didn't open very far. Non anti-allergy pillows and my other half really suffered until we worked this out and got them changed. Wasn't asked how our stay was when we checked out - in fact wasn't even asked to return the room key so I still have it by mistake. The service at breakfast did not match that of dinner - we came down at 9.45 and clearly they were ready to end the service as not attentive to us at all. The décor in the room was tired and could do with a refresh.
Restaurant, bar, great staff
everything. noisy, pokey, dirty and unpleasant.
The convenient location.
The traffic noise - although we asked for a quiet room, we were given one overlooking the main road.
Staff very helpful, nice location.
Did not like breakfast buffet as food looked like it had been sitting in serving dishes for quite a while.Would prefer it to be cooked to order.
No air conditioning which made a hot and humid night very uncomfortable.
Rooms very small and very hot. Limited menu available
