Score from 204 reviews Superb
We had a lovely sized family room, much appreciated when you have two wee boys aged 7 & 8. We also had a lovely evening meal, the kids section being small but varied enough to make the choice easy for the boys to make. We used the Hotel as a short stop to break up our journey home and it was a good choice. We enjoyed our stay.
Staff, location and building
Expensive for breakfast and omeletes with egg shells thrown in for free!
good facility for our little dog
Superb room -large, great bed, shower and bath which we requested for our baby. Good location just off M74 on Moffat High St. Cracking wee town and friendly locals. Full Scottish breakfast didn't disappoint. Good value. Staff very helpful. Defiantly use this hotel again.
Location right in the heart of the town, the Moffat Ram right by the entrance Quite and very friendly, room was superb Hope to be going back next year

Location and building
Beds were very comfortable and the bath was excellent. Bargain rate.
Top sash of bathroom window was jammed shut and could not be opened.
comfortable room, okay for one night stopover
Good value room and food
Three guys, three rooms, three nights, for a walking trip. Location is excellent for the town and the area. Good parking Breakfast and the bar meals were value for money. Staff generally were good, but a disappointing experience on checkout.
The Wi-Fi is intermittent to useless, not made better by the hotel knowing this. The décor in room 14 was poor. Ok for a single guy on a walking trip but I wouldn't take my girlfriend. On check out reception wanted to charge us the commission they pay to Booking.com as well as the agreed rate from Booking.com. After 15 minutes of increasingly heated discussion they accepted payment as stated by us and said they would look at it further. I was promised that later in the day I would receive confirmation, or otherwise, from the management that we had paid the correct amount. A month later I am still waiting. A nice hotel in many ways but the owners need to get a grip.
The friendliness and efficiency of staff.
wifi location and good size carpark large room, warm
bar prices really expensive am a diamond member and so get discount of food and drink they never did then only gave me half of the discount I should of and none on the drinks, took 3 times of asking. waitress at night pushing to take order was to much in your face.
Right on town centre. Staff were lovely. Food in hotel was great.
Loved the size of the room
Pillows are hard,
Warm welcome The hotel had its own character and personality. Attentive staff. Good value tasty evening meal.
Bathroom on the cool side.
Staff excellent food good value. Breakfast was great especially the sausages!
Value for money was excellent. The room and bathroom was both very spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable and television was a good size.
When we first went to check in it took a while for any staff to attend to us and the same when my partner went to the bar. Also the wifi connection was very poor.
Cask Ale available
A wee bit tired. But such a beautiful building.
Have stayed there every year for the past 6 years. Great place to stay
Good sized and comfortable rooms in a reasonably quiet location. Well placed in relation to the M6.
The hotel was busy - but I can understand why - Reception and other staff were friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. Room was nice and four poster was a lovely touch. Food was very good and dining room was lovely overlooking the garden to the rear of the hotel. I would stay again and would recommend this hotel but would request a room on the lower floor for my mum next time.
My elderly mother found two flights of stairs too difficult with no lift to help. Staff tried their hardest to change our room but the hotel was really and just couldn't. One young waiter made an error which meant our main and dessert were late that evening but it was a very busy weekend and that can happen anywhere.
Cycling lands end to jo'g the staff locked our cycles away and the chef prepared extra veg. Comfortable and perfect for our needs
Breakfast excellent Location excellent
Bed very creaky all night and not comfortable Shower did not work Quality of room did not justify price of room
