Location, food, helpfulness of the staff.

WiFi in the cottage was very weak thus not reliable. This will need addressing before we stay there again on business.

The lovely, friendly and welcoming staff- nothing was too much trouble. Menu choice was good and value for money. Efficiently served breakfast, which we chose from a good selection. Fantastic location, ideally situated in its own right as well as a stopping off point on a trip north or south- lovely. We will certainly return, on future trips north.

Although parts of the hotel could do with an update, this did not in any way affect our stay here, which we very much enjoyed.

Liked its location. The staff were very nice. Food was very good and the bar had a really nice ambience.

Room decor was in need of a spruce up. Wallpaper was a bit tatty as was the paintwork.

The Moffatt is a beautiful period place with lots of character and charm.

In this day and age, no WiFi to individual rooms (even if you do have to pay fr the service).

We arrived expecting a "family room" to be told on arrival that they had accidentally over booked.....but not to worry as they had upgraded us at no extra charge to the "cottage!". This cottage was amazing such a shame we were there only for one night lol

Centre of the town. Clean, comfortable rooms. Helpfulness of staff - I could not cope with the stairs, so they found us a ground floor room as soon as it was possible.

Friendly, helpful staff and welcomed us with our Labrador. Unusually warm sunny weather so enjoyed having supper in the large garden. Good bar menu. Room perfectly good, maybe a bit tired but with a dog we don't expect the bridal suite!
