Best Western Moffat House Hotel  

The historical building and grounds. Attractive and comfortable room.

A bit short staffed in the dining room, but everyone was very nice and did their best.

I love this hotel , second time staying there . They have just got it right !!!!

The location of the hotel in the centre of Moffat. Easy parking.The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast dining room had a lovely outlook and the breakfast was very good. Particularly nice to have linen napkins and home-made marmalade and good toast made from crusty /wheaten bread.

Apart from the dining room the other rooms (bar, bedroom) had an air of old-fashioned, tiredness. Also the entrance (carpet) to the bar was very badly worn, and looked dirty. This piece of carpet should be removed and fresh carpet put down. Also the bedroom (22) radiator (oil type I think) was very dusty at the bottom between the pieces of metal. I did not notice this until after I had filled in my review at the hotel. I also feel that the bathroom could be modernised and therefore, made easier for the person cleaning it..

The food was excellent and the service was likewise. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Would certainly stay at this hotel again.

Thought the staff were excellent but as usual the higher staff were very young and wer therefore not keeping a close enough eye on housekeeping. Not seriously but"niggly" The room and en suite was lovely but one of the bedside lamps was broken and the receptionist did'nt know how to put on the heating in ourroom and as it was snowing it could have been disastrous, however she was very kind and fetched another lamp and a plug in radiator which kept us lovely and warm till someone arrived to over-ride the timer on our electric heating. Food was great also even tho we were the only residents!!!! Overall

Very little we did'nt like. The en suite was freezing even tho the heated towel rail was on at all times also the plug for the basin,which was attached to the monobloc was broken so we could not fill the basin. Housekeeping at fault again.!!!!! Manager or head housekeeper take note!!!!!

Our stay at this Hotel was great. We are Three couples who are also Sisters.we had a Fab time. Hotel Lovely, Staff Fantastic,and good value for Money, what more can we ask for. Deff be going back there.Tracy&Ian,Lorraine&Simon,Ann&Steve. Manchester.

The young lady manageress was outstandingly charming , friendly efficient and helpful.

Having to leave for work so quickly, would have liked to stay longer !

Everything . One o0f the best hotels in Scotland that I have stayed in !!!!

the plumbing did,nt work so made for a unpleasant stay and certainly would not use a best western hotel again.

The bed was the most uncomfortable one i've ever slept in could have left after one night
