The staff were first class
Room was too dimly lit Room had a locked adjoining door to the next room and so I heard the TV, the phone calls and most of the talking tepid water in the shower
Room to small
The staff were all very pleasant and smiling. They went out of their way to be helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was good in all respects. The disabled parking was very handy.
No criticisms at all
Quiet, comfortable bed, good breakfast.
Couldn't get WiFi signal in room.
Choices for evening meal - very good and very reasonably priced.
No control over bath/shower flow. No port for my cheese board.
Dining room well set out not sitting on top of other guests. Good value of dinner at £10
Was in room 18 did not like clutter of chairs and bedding at our door
The breakfast was good.
The facilities were very dated and run-down. There were cigarette butts all around the front entrance and weeds growing wild. When we checked into our room there were bags of dirty laundry outside every door
Small very worn room and furnishings. Expensive food for room service. Key didn't always work.
First class meals, friendly staff good service
smart, up-to-date facilities good quality of rooms staff in restaurant at dinner went out of their way to serve us coffee in the lounge. really thoughtful reception staff very professional in all their dealings with us.
speed at which we were served at breakfast. would have liked to have settled and then given a chance to think about what we wanted. slowly does it in the morning! think all of the corridors / areas are really dark - very little light walls etc no handle for my elderly mother getting out the bath - baths quite high disappointed about noise late into the night from downstairs disco! we asked for a refund
Friendly staff Good wifi
Although a new power shower had been fitted over the bath, the pressure was so great it caused the head to rise and all the water to hit the back wall which resulted in the floor flooding, which probably accounts for the slight musty smell in the room (42)
Price was good. Ten Pounds for a 3 course meal was excellent. Room was large and clean. Staff at the front desk and restaurant were exceptional.
Wifi was hard to use until later at night.
The staff. The location.
The room was tiny. The web page said the hotel was air conditioned, it didn't mention that the rooms were not.
Easy access to Edinburgh Livingston and Glasgow loved the parks the wheel and the Kelppies the hotel was well situated for everything I wanted to do I really enjoyed my stay
Didn't like to go to room 25 to tell them to shut up at 3 am but that wasn't the hotels fault that's the only down fall
The hotel was lovely The staff were spot on couldn't do enough for you Even the cleaners were helpful
The people next door wouldn't be quiet for your staff until my granddaughter went to the room and faced them at 3am threatening police action it worked and th smoking in the room when they were drunk.
The location is very good - less than 10 minute walk into town. The standard is what you would expect for the price.
Everything is the colour of sludge! It's a very depressing colour and, given that the whole place is quite dark, perhaps not the best choice - I guess it doesn't show any dirt! Brighten up please - or lift the lighting levels.
Location was good, easy to find. The evening meal was really good and value for money. Clean bright bathroom with powerful shower.
Dull, dated, staff weren't courteous to customers while using the lift, ie lift small and customers had to wait while the staff used it. Corridors were full of dirty sheets and dirty plates laying on the floor, late afternoon. The room was the smallest ever, too hot even with the window open and no heating on and the matress too soft.
The breakfast was quite good
The staff definatly need moe customer service training
Very convenient for shops, bus station etc --didn't have to use the car all weekend.
room was clean and tidy and the bed was nice and comfy.
The location of the hotel was fantastic! Short drive to all the attractions we wanted to visit. 3 course meal for only £10! Portions were huge, and for that price, the quality was as expected The water pressure of the showers were great...relaxing A very helpful gentleman who assisted us with room changes when our replacement room was substandard
Walking into a wedding reception in the foyer. We felt out of place, and the wedding party looked at us as though we were intruding. Very uncomfortable first impressions. Our bed was made up of two singles pushed together, resulting in very uncomfortable sleep, waking up with aches. The wedding party was also very loud, and not settling until around 3am. Our bath tub looked like it was falling apart, with the edges of it peeling away. The water also failed to drain properly, resulting in us standing in a huge pool of water, ankle deep when washing. We asked to switch rooms the next morning, and the receptionist was very cold about the thing. There were no apologies for the bad room, and we had to wait for an hour before hearing back about a new room. We had went sight seeing, and came back to our new room, only to find that not only was it much smaller, but it also stank! We requested for another room, dealt with by a different receptionist, and was transferred to a much better room
Excellent value meal option. The quality of the food was great.
Friendly staff, good breakfast and excellent value 3 course dinner
The weekend 3 course dinner for 10£ is a winner.
Even a 10£ dinner should serve cold coal slaw and avoid fries dripping with oil.
