Staff we had contact with never let themselves down: they are friendly and efficient and professional. Comfortable mattresses. Useful long mirror and easy-to-use coat hangers. The en-suite is cramped but the shower worked well for us.

Blood-stained duvet cover from previous use showing that not all bedlinen is fresh (particularly disappointing); noise from (builder's?) hgv's from 6am; greater need for non-smoking notices, especially in bedrooms - our room was invaded with the smell of cigarette smoke at 6am but it was not from outside. Double glazing is faulty, foggy betwen the panes, so we could not see out.

    staff willing and cheerful.

The absence of A/C in our room. We were promised an electric fan but it failed to appear, so poor communication between staff.

The Staff were friendly and helpful. The food although took ages to come was very good for the price. Very comfortable bed. The staff from when i arrived at 8.30pm were still there at 6.30 am the next morning to apologise for all the issues I reported to the reception on leaving.

Having just cycled across the Netherlands in a heatwave staying in budget B&B's i never stayed in a room as hot as here. There were a hour of Chinese teenagers running amok in the bar & reception area. The manager running around bellowing orders at the staff in a most unprofessional way. Waiting an age for my food to be served. Noise from a wedding party until 3.00 am. a room too hot to sleep in with not even a fan provided. Couldn't get dressed easily when due to leave as sweating profusely even after a cool shower! I left feeling that I had been baked alive! I felt sorry for the staff who had really tried to do their best.

Ashraf (?) on reception was amazing, attending to our every request. Good notification of evening events, even though they were no bother to us 2 floors above the stateroom. Free Wifi worked throughout the hotel including our room, even though booking details said lobby only. Bonus!

No air conditioning:( Car park access was horrid due to partial closures for skips. No signage to show which access road was Entrance and Exit. Approach and leaving was dangerous due to hedge growth. Need a mirror on opposite side of road to see oncoming traffic when pulling out. Access and exit was made worse by coaches as there is no specific provision for coach parking either. There seemed to be no outside areas or gardens to sit in. There was no gym, or if there was I couldn't find it!

    Location & friendly young staff

Where should I begin? Turning up and finding the advertised photos were totally deceptive. On the second day of our arrival they started ripping up the carpark. The 3 bed room was a double and a sofa bed, the radiator pipes were on all the time, could not turn off, no air con, sweltering room. Doors slamming all night, no soundproofing, key cards not working every time we used them, meaning we were running back to reception all the time. Room booked for 3 people, only towels and cups provided for 2 until we asked for more. Terribly small bathroom with awful shower and unreliable water temp. Motel in full renovation of which we were unaware at time of booking. Would never go back or recommend it....which is a shame because the young staff were lovely.

Situated close to friends that we were visiting.

The shower was a joke, no water pressure and the temperature could not be adjusted. In the evening it was boiling hot, in the morning (after a busload of tourists had left) luke warm.

the hot pipes running through the room that made it very hot.i would recommend reading about this problem as it seems to be something that is causing a problem for many people that stay here

The fact there was no air conditioning and the weekend was very hot and despite windows being open the room was hot. Also lot of noise with banging of fire doors until early hours and sadly noisy hen parties

The hotel upgrade is good and enjoyed stay with helpful and friendly staff.

To meet 4 star aim need attention to detail. ie new tiles but grouting not cleaned of properly. Base of shower head holder signs of rust.

Bed clean and comfortable. Breakfast nice. Given a drink while we waited for our room (after a bit!)

Sent to filthy room, then spent an hour waiting for a room, eventually got in at 5:30pm. Shower too small. People were trying repeatedly to get into our room, maybe had been given the wrong room number? Breakfast waiter surly and didn't explain choices, it was worse for couple beside us for whom English was not first language. Coffee at breakfast was foul. Whole experience felt like we were being served by unhelpful teenagers.
