Good location. Hotel had been refurbished since our last stay and looked more attractive
No parking for residents when a function was on. Staff very offhand and unhelpful about parking problems e.g "what do you want me to do about it "? Clothes storage inadequate in rooms - needed drawer space. No hot water on last morning.
Staff were pleasant
Parking a total nightmare
Clean, very comfortable.
Breakfast dose not have enough varieties comparing with similar hotels.
The new rooms layout much better more relaxing and comfortable.
no saucers for the cups at breakfast
Wasn't told on arrival that there would be no room service because of a party going on Had 2 single beds instead of a double
the decor it wasn`t inviting and quite depressing
They liked the freindlyness
Car park not quite big enough for sprinter van (Commercial)
cleanliness and loads of parking
I think staff need to be careful at the front desk as I was reserved a double room but then was given a twin. I came back down to change it then was given a key that didn't open the room but opened another. Also several times maintenance cleaners kept knocking ony door and one even came in. I had a huge suitcase not one of the staff at the desk offer to help or tell me there was no lift where my room was. The front desk didn't even tell me i needed tokens to get out the car park til I got there and had to run back. I am pregnant so could have done with a little less messing around. I think the kitchen and bar staff were fantastic.
Very modern, clean and friendly staff
Helpful and friendly staff comfortable beds and reasonably quiet made for a good nights sleep
Poor standard of cleanliness in some public areas especially toilets. Cold breakfast buffet and on day 2 some of the juices appeared to have been diluted
I was in room 311, this room is right next to a boiler or machine room, the noise from which kept me awake for most of the night. When I spoke to reception about it in the morning I was told that "next time we will put you in the middle of the hotel". The very least I would expect having stayed with Best Western many times in the past was a refund or at the very least a room reduction. I was also told that I could not claim "Golden Crown Club International points" for staying at this particular Best Western Hotel. The bar / restaurant menu was a poor selection and very expensive. All in all a very disappointing stay.
Staff ok except young blonde boy loud in morning showing off outside room letting guest know his sexuality by his attitude ! shocking by the way he was acting now I dont have a problem with people sexuality but dont rub in it to our faces we are paying guest and for noise reason and this young boy will never return
Too noisy so loud couldnt sleep doors banging from other guest as walls are thin and to top it cleanners disturbing you to get in and clean when it only 9oclock weekend suppose to be 12 check out hated it so never again
Local train station South Woodford, is easy train trip to London.
Approx. half hour walk to local shops, not on public transport route. Longer walk to local train station.Taxi approx £5. No lift in our wing. Room was clean & good size but above side door to car park, so had a lot of banging of hotel doors, loud talking, & car doors shutting. Vey strong smell of paint, & painter still there. Also there was no television remote in our room upon arrival had to ask twice for it, andYoung receptionist very rude. We Complained about noisy room & requested a new room, same rude receptionist said she would find a room, but after going out & returning we asked if anything available was told receptionist had gone home & done nothing. Next receptionist changed our room to a smaller room in other wing (with lift) adjoining the housekeeping cupboard. Tiny cramped bathroom, shower dripped all night. Had to leave shower door open to shower as no room. Constant noise from cupboard housekeeping door opening & closing. We did not check the terms & conditions upon booking so did not realise this was a function hotel so wedding was held near our room & loud music till 1am. When I complained to Carl, the supervisory manager about room size, dripping shower all night & loud music he was very defensive and extremely rude. When I asked for 1 nights refund he advised he couldn't do it & I had to apply through booking dot com. The rude reception staff spoiled the end if our 8 week holiday of Europe & UK.
Staff were helpful if not totally up to speed. Got the impression that there is a high turnover of staff and, although helpful, they needed training. The rooms were recently furnished, pleasant and comfortable but quite basic.
There was no air conditioning. There was no toilet paper when we arrived. They skimp on sugar for your morning cuppa. A complimentary bottle of water would be nice. But the worst thing was the noise in the corridor. I believe that they were holding a relaunch party on the night that we stayed, which we attended, and was very nice. But it went on quite late and some of the revellers were mindless of other guests when in the corridors. I was kept awake until well into the morning as a result.
Machinery keeping me awake all night
Being told I'd paid for breakfast when I'd not requested that from booking.com
Clean, good value, good atmosphere. Ashleigh on reception an absolute credit to the hotel and chain. Will be back
Good hotel, quiet, clean and good value for money.
Smart comfortable room. Good decorations throughout. Excellent breakfast. Bar staff helpful and good humoured.
Front desk unmanned for over 5 mins when trying to check out at peak time. Rude retort from front desk lady when this questioned.
Very little It was only the one night stay! Sheets were clean Clean towels
Painting of staircase Not ideally located for local restaurants etc Difficult to find Difficult to park Food distinctly below average Poor restaurant ambiance Little customer service Couldn't care less attitude by staff I couldn't book directly on the on the Best Western site because it wasn't featured Too many pillows and cushions on the bed
Good breakfast and clean room. One member if drFf behind bar who hAd been there for 5 years was lovely Friendly and helpful.
Poor lighting in room. Small bed. A wedding party guest kepf us awake for 2 hours trying to gef into a room and had to contact reception to sort if out which they did eventually. Extremely noisy until 2am. Cot not in room had to ask twice to get one and I was expected to carry it upstairs myself. I asked for it to be brought to room I had to wait At 1030pm it was supposed to be tAken to the room in the afternoon. Some staff not very pleasant or friendly. Asked for a high chair which seemed to be a problem and when if finally came we had to wipe it die as it was dirty.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. Quick to sort out problems with room keys. Nice choice of toiletries.
Room needed a bit of a makeover and smelt of cigarettes although it was a non-smoking hotel. TV remote control didn't work. Good choice of fruit, cereal etc at breakfast but the cooked element was disappointing.
