reception staff very friendly and could not do enough to help well done
dicussed to be told one evening at 7 oclock restuarant closed and we could not go in manager said he made the decision what poor service why would we return to be treated like this
Bedroom was very spacious and modern. Very large comfortable bed with t.v. and coffee making facilities.Very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Varied breakfast optios. We had cooked.Would stay there again and recommend to friends.
Basin taps were loose the base and needed tightening.
The hotel room was comfortable and had all facilities. The breakfast was included in the price and is good value.
The lift, which was probably the same one as when we had our wedding reception at this hotel 42 years ago.
Everything best hotel in weymouth
Nothing everything was perfect
Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Size and comfort of room. Control over heating in room. No shortage of food! Parking facilities.
Dirty bedroom windows spoiling sea view. Water not hot enough in the mornings. Bathroom needed some maintenance. Cooked breakfasts a bit cold.
Room was nice, comfy bed
Extractor fan in bathroom was a bit noist
breakfast dining room overlooking the sea
undersheets on the bed which I would guess are similar to those used as incontinency sheets, very uncomfortable
We love this hotel stayed on several occasions. Great location staff & food
Room decor starting to look abit tired. In need of a makeover
We had a trip to guernsey, staff helped us park our car and knew we would be late back in the evening. Room was really lovely, tea and coffee, and smellies. Had a sea view even though we only booked a few days previous. View was stunning the next morning. Breakfast was superb. Had a lovely stay and definitely would return there. :-)
Friendly efficient staff
Lack of attention to detail in cleaning the room - not very clean behind bathroom door and cobwebs hanging from ceiling.
Charming Independent Victorian hotel in great location
Hotel decor aged in places.
very run down nothing like pictures, also bar closed in afternoon breakfast finished to early as we went to relaxe not get up as normal
The whole experience was enjoyable, relaxing and friendly. The breakfast was tasty, hot and plentyful.
The car park was absolutely dreadful. The spaces are too small. The walk to reception up a flight of stairs, carrying cases was difficult.
staff very freindly
breakfast could be improved
good location ,friendly helpful staff .
room was very small and cramped ,decor was very tired and tatty ,bathroom was dirty and mouldy in places we would have asked to move to another room if we were staying for more than one night .
Location was excellent. An old premises well maintained for age excellent buffet breakfast and really large comfortable room delightful stay overall.
Basement room windows were difficult to open and close
attitude of staff, off handed unhelpfull
I liked the close proximity to the harbour. Also that there was an onsite car park which was lockable at night gave the added security. The breakfast was excellant in the morning.
I did not like the room that had been given to me as i was up in the attic. Being a tall person i was unable to use the shower as there was a step up to it and i was not able to stand in the shower. Also being in that area of the hotel there were few signs to help anyone not get lost in the corridors. This is something the hotel should look at improving. One thing that really put me off in the morning was to find a stack of unwashed glasses on the bar from the night before. There was also some half eaten food with it. To me there is no excuse for that to be left overnight that should have been cleared away. It shows a "can't be bothered" attidude.
Parking availability, young inexperienced staff, realisation that booking on-line only entitled me to bed and breakfast, the room price was per person per night and not room price, evening dinner £22 per person extra and certainly not great value, no double glazing and early morning external noise was deafening.
location, it had what was needed in the room.
disappointed where the room was, looking at a brick wall, over the kitchen, very noisey. there was a charity fund raising going on, this was extremely noisey. worse night sleep.
Friendly staff and great breakfast
Hotel is a bit dated - clean with facilities but not modern
We liked the location very close to all amenities in Weymouth.
The hotel has seen its day. In particular, the 2 rooms we stayed the windows needed cleaning (inside and out) and the net curtains needed a good wash. Decor dated and old and the armchairs supplied in the room were stained.
The lcoation of the hotel
The 'double' bed was 2 singles pushed together. The bed sloped down due to the uneven floor and should have been supported at the bottom to make it level. The room and en suite were not very clean. The cooked breakfast wasn't hot enough and soon went cold. The overall appearance of the hotel was 'tired and dated'.
