Best Western Clifton Hotel  

Lovely building, staff friendly and helpful. Rooms extremely clean although the hotel is tired. We were lucky to get a parking space on the hotel car park which is for 4 cars!

Blankets on bed, haven't seen that for years! Would have preferred a duvet.

The hotel is very central, clean and the staff are so very friendly and willing to help you with everything

I had a front room and it was a bit noisey because of a disco in the hotel opposite and there was no double glazing but that is all

Very dated room, very poor shower(more like a fast drip). Still blankets on bed. Terrible gap around door, used a towel and a jumper to keep light from passage out.

Ten out of ten in everything. Great staff, great place an oasis of decency, friendliness in a town that is now full of drugs and drunks. A home from home. If staying in Folkestone it is a no brainer you must stay here. Great hotel.

The style is unusual for the modern age, very refreshing to find something harking back to a bygone era! The staff were superb, helpful, friendly and polite no matter what.

We stayed at the Clifton for about four weeks, 32 years ago with our family while waiting to move in to a house in Folkestone. It was a very kind and welcoming hotel then and still is now. We now live in Mallorca Spain. So it was a trip back in time !!

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times so I know the good facilities, the down to earth prices and good nature of the staff. This was only a short stay but I got that favourable impression of the place yet again. Keep it up - that's why I could not book in early, you are always packed! Thank you for your service.

You asked so I will tell you! The sash window in my room (212) was open (only 2 inches) and chattered all night as it was battered by sea winds. It proved difficult to lift but I managed to close the gap slightly and reduce the noise.

Local to Dover ferry crossing, the hotel staff were friendly and room was very comfortable. Food was good and service very good. Excellent value for money, would recommend.

Location was pretty good - close to restaurants and shops and overlooking the ocean. Great period facade and elegant public rooms.

Rooms were very dated - seventies (not period)! Was woken up by people upstairs walking on the creaky floors. The hotel was fairly average all round. Just not trying ver hard.

It is an old fashioned British seaside hotel. It looks and feels authentic and clearly isn't a modern clone hotel. Don't go if you don't want an authentic Victorian hotel experience. We enjoyed it for a single night, the rooms were clean and tidy with good tea and coffee facilities.

The shower was poor and had very low pressure, as did the toilet. The building heating was clearly also stuck on full heat!

Close to Dover Docks.

Night porter not very clever, not very friendly, not very gelpfull. No parking space. Very noisy area with a bar near by. Noisy guests. Slow mobing lift suitabel for two persons only and luggage. All dated, needs a make over. Ridiculous expensive for breakfast (although the elderly waiter had humor and did his best).

General helpfulness and patience of staff.

Trying to tie in location with the brochure. Picture is of the "front" but this view is only visible from the park which is to your right as you travel along the front. The Best Wetern sign is not prominent enough as you come up to the lLees and the promanade.
