Great location. Breakfast very good!
The hotel was a perfect location for us doing the ennerdale trail run. Clean hotel and very friendly staff. Beautiful gardens
Could do with updating the interior and exterior.
good location in its own grounds
it could do with a bit of tlc
No sound proofing from the room above as when people above were moving around it was quit loud in the room we were in
Convenience to Sellafield site. The garden looked nice if that's your thing. Food in restaurant was very nice Decent breakfast.
Very uncomfortable bed. Shabby bathroom. The worlds noisiest toilet that even made a loud noise when other residents flushed their toilets.
Confortable Room Excellent, dedicated friendly staff Very good choice of food Excellent dining facilities beautiful grounds & gardens
Some parts of the hotel could do with a make-over, single glazing in bedroom Use of extension leads & sockets
Being charged for drinks we hadn't had on departure...........left a bad taste in our mouths.
Lovely quiet, well set out hotel. Lovely food and a nice atmosphere. Would go back tomorrow .
Having to go to work the next morning.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The décor of the hotel, in general. The peacefulness of the gardens. The breakfast and dinner menus. The cleanliness of the rooms, and en-suite bathrooms.
The paintwork on the window-frames and sills (outside), which needed a radical paint job! The 'squeaky' bed-frame (but it was changed, after I complained.) The proximity of our room (Room 11) to the road. The fact that there is no provision for disabled guests....no ramp access and no lifts to first-floor bedrooms (my wife has mobility problems, and a lift would have been wonderful!)
Traditional old style manner house property with very nice gardens. Good value and convienient for the hills.
Noise from downstairs and surrounding rooms in the stable wing
Location, food, parking, friendly staff.
Beautiful location, fabulous grounds & ideal for sightseeing. Will definitely be going back at some point in the future.
Hotel grounds very nice
Hotel very tired and badly in need of redecoration. Our room windows did not open which to me is a fire hazard. We waited for an hour for breakfast to be served which we were told was due to a new chef, unacceptable by the time the breakfast arrived tea, coffee and toast were cold. Would not stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay, its is a lovely old building and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was excellent and overall it was very good value for money.
There was a wedding disco the night of our stay and the noise continued until after 11:30 pm. Our room was right above the function room, and we had an early start the next day. Obviously we didn't want to ask them to stop the disco but It would have been better to be further away from the noise or at least warned. There was no hot water first thing in the morning but it did come on after a while.
Good service Impressive building and gardens Good value for a weekend overnight stay
A bit dated and shabby Room had a small double bed (4')
everything is spot on !
The friendly staff. Jeanette & Daniel wre fantastic in letting md send my tent a month before my arrival & keeping it safe for me
The sign they had outside "3 course Sunday carvery" & then charging me £12.50 saying the sign was not facing the public.
The character of the hotel and gardens. Pleasantness and willingness to help of staff. Breakfast!!
The indoor decorations and furnishings were very good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. We enjoyed the holiday.
There was no resident's lounge. The bedroom windows were difficult to open.
Stayed at the ennerdale at the end of a week long road trip visiting family in northern England. The hotel was excellent staff very helpful and friendly lovely breakfast gorgeous grounds nothing bad to say about this hotel highly recommended
Only the grounds of the Hotel.
Awful stay, upon arrival the Hotel doors were locked, we had to sleep in car! Till 7! Even though we had called ahead! breakfast was burnt toast! And rest under cooked even though we asked well done! Rooms had cobwebs and staff didnt want to be there! Dreadful! All stale and stinky in rooms with damp unclean feel all round!
seeing an old building last seen 50 years ago, restored and brought back into life
Good staff. Lovely restaurants and breakfast rooms Great gardens
Rooms could do with double glazing Outside of building is tatty.
Beautiful grounds and gardens
