The Seacrest Hotel is situated on Southsea's seafront, looking out over award-winning gardens to the Solent and the Isle of Wight.
Score from 240 reviews Very good
This modern hotel is in Portsmouth city centre, just 500 metres from Portsmouth and Southsea Rail Station. The Ibis Hotel Portsmouth has a 24-hour snack menu, on-site parking and a stylish restaurant....
Score from 1398 reviews Good
Superbly located in Portsmouth’s lively waterfront development, Gunwharf Quays, this hotel offers bright, modern rooms with buffet breakfasts. Shops, bars and restaurants are on the hotel doorstep.

Staff and food was very good
Last visited 30 years ago but it is now looking a bit tired. Needs a lot of updating.
The museum and surrounding area was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our few days visiting the area. The museum was extremely interesting and the guides very knowledgable and helpful. Cannot fault it,!
The only problem was the costs for parking in Southsea, Hotel and any ware in the vicinity of the museum or shops.
It's a lovely hotel from an era long gone - a bit tired in places but with a feeling of class. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Portsmouth or Southsea. Clean, everything works, good parking, stunning breakfast - even hot plates!!!
Location Friendliness of staff
Lack of air conditioning as the room was stuffy and a bit too warm but because there was a large party going on right outside our window we could not open it up it to sleep.
the location was good and the Edwadian architecture was interesting
carpets on the landings were dirty and paintwork needed attention. The room was OK but not anything special for the price. The top floor of the hotel looked derelict with broken windows !
Staff Location Food Public areas, stunning
Bed uncomfortable Shower, old mixer tap type over the bath Cleanliness of room, carpet stained
comfortable, big room and bedroom
there was no quality wi-fi network! we needed to spend many hours in nearest cafe to be able to work on a laptop with a proper wi-fi connection! this was rediculous! it made our time there really difficult!
The staff were all friendly and helpful
The place is tatty, stained carpets in the corridor, ancient furniture in the rooms and a shabbiness about the public rooms.
Wifi didn't work.
Location - and always somewhere to park since parking in Portsmouth & Southsea can be a nightmare. Staff helpful and obliging - this showed especially when 5 adults and 2 small children assembled for the lunchtime Carvery on the last day. Would recommend to anybody and will be staying there again.
Breakfasts not as good as I remember from a few years ago. Had to ask for coffee or tea.
The staff were all friendly and polite, very professional and nothing was too much trouble. Even when my husband set the toaster alight at breakfast !!!!!!!
Parking available Late check in Friendly staff
House keeping attempted to come into the room early in the morning
Friendly staff good food and great breakfast and great view of the sea.
Cleanliness not good, cups in the room looked like had been swilled out and not replaced, down at breakfast again the cup my partner had had tea stains all over it and the saucer was covered in brown stain,
Hotel restaurant closes early, not many restaurants around, wifi didn't work. Hotel requires urgently a refurb as everything from the carpets to the elevator are very old.
Staff were good breakfast very good
In need of some redecoration looking a bit tired
Booked de lux room overlooking sea. It was small and v poor value. Also bed sidelights didn't work and tea crockery not replaced or washed.
Very Small Room Not like photos, WiFi Very poor slow could not connect, Staff in bad need of re training, Restaurant meal arrived cold and late (we were the only diners) Would not stay there again
Free parking, nice gardens and bar area.
shower poor, bed only large not king size, room small and you had to slam the door shut so being woke up when people came in and out. TV small and load extractor fan every time you turned on light in bathroom.Toilet roll holder in wrong location.should include breakfast.
The position is perfect. The garden is very pleasant to sit and have a drink in.
The hotel itself could do with some freshening up with paint and decorations inside. The building seems rather uncared for.
Location with views of the seafront and solent. Good parking. Good breakfast with nice crisp linen.
Rooms were dated. Bedside lamps didnt work. Bathroom tap was loose. Reception area beautiful ceiling but not many seats to relax in. Afternoon tea was a bit of a disappointment. The scones were rock hard and dry and the selection of cakes were not as it looked on the hotels website.
The location was good. The hotel is over 100 years old so perfection should not be expected.
The room was small for a double. The bed was small. Only 1 chair for a double room. Had to wait for lift as it was being used by maid staff.
The staff performance at all times was excellent.
The overall costing for accommodation and food though both good, was overpriced by comparison to other hotels. The tech services i.e. WiFi were next to useless.
Breakfast was very good, as was the service in the dining room.Towels and sheets changed every day which was good.
No shaver point in the bathroom. Holes in carpet in bedroom and not very clean.
