Superbly located in Portsmouth’s lively waterfront development, Gunwharf Quays, this hotel offers bright, modern rooms with buffet breakfasts. Shops, bars and restaurants are on the hotel doorstep.
Score from 863 reviews Very good
The Seacrest Hotel is situated on Southsea's seafront, looking out over award-winning gardens to the Solent and the Isle of Wight.

The Royal Maritime Club is just 5 minutes’ walk from the Gunwharf Quays waterfront development and Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard.

This modern hotel is in Portsmouth city centre, just 500 metres from Portsmouth and Southsea Rail Station. The Ibis Hotel Portsmouth has a 24-hour snack menu, on-site parking and a stylish restaurant....
Score from 1478 reviews Good
The hotel is overdue for a renovation, but perhaps that is part of the charm.
Our Sunday morning lie-in was killed by our neighbours speaking loudly and having their TV on too loud.
The position was good, on the seafront and within easy reach of the city centre and shopping. The front of house reception staff were as helpful as they could be.
The wifi for the whole hotel was not working during our entire stay. The rooms are dated and, in my view, overpriced (breakfast was between £10 and £13 extra). Finally, although they did try hard, the bar staff were clearly inexperienced.
We love this Hotel with its old world charm. Friendly staff, good food, comfortable beds, lovely location near the seafront.
Wifi could be better, otherwise no problems
Lovely room with a lot of space. Charming staff.
The staff are about the most friendly and helpful I have ever met both in a hotel or B & B. Nothing was to much for them to assist me. The breakfasts were splendid with a good choice. Even the cleaning ladies had a smile in the mornings & were pleased to say "good morning", BRILLIANT.
I objected to having to pay £5.00 to leave my car in their car park per night. I am a paying guest staying at this lovely hotel. I notice they have a large sign stating "free daytime car parking for daytime guests". I find this priority very odd, especially as the car park was practically empty at night.
Staff are helpful, friendly and curtious.Rooms are clean, beds comfortable and breakfast is fab. Location is on seafront and great for transport for getting about town.
Helpful and courteous staff; well appointed single rooms; proximity to my workplace.
Poor choice of food; poor breakfast.
Location, staff very helpful & polite
Being charged extra for parking. Non existant wifi in rooms
Absence of promised WiFi
Stunning views of the channel and harbor on the water side of this hotel. A lovely old style grand hote.
location good with Restaurants close
no wifi. I've been in 3 rooms in the last few weeks & at no stage could I get the wifi to work. lots of confusion about whether there is an extra £5/night car park fee.
The feeling of solidity and classic hotel style. Great shower, nice and powerful.
Room was too hot, difficult to turn the heating down, ended up with window open. Bath curtain did not stop leak of water to floor, bath was a bit slippy, I could have banged my head.
location to where we needed to be and also near the shopping area. One good thing is that you had a biscuit with the coffee in the room. !!!!!
Parts of the hotel looked lovely but along the corridors it looked quite shabby. The room furniture was sparse and dated.
The character the hotel has and the history. The position is very convenient for museums and Gun Wharf. Quality of the room and bathroom and great views. Good breakfast and helpful staff.
The drinks in the bar were very expensive.
The location and the hotel facilities.
We pre booked parking. We were charged for parking but the site led us to belive the cost was included. We pre booked breakfast but were told we had not. The staff on the front desk were not up to the standard I am used to in this kind of hotel.
Parking fee, long wait to check in. Tired old hotel , not 3 star
There's a great history for this grand old hotel. It certainly looks the part and I could forgive the odd scratch & dent. The staff are friendly, the food is good and The Queens is in a fantastic position on the Seafront at Southsea.
Sort out the WI-FI and TV please. And please, play up the history of 'The Old Girl'. We had to look her up on Wikipedia! She only needs a little TLC, I know budgets must be tight, but just get a few things sorted and The Queens is a real hidden gem.
Good location; helpful staff and comfortable rooms.
Poor breakfasts; not all that warm in restaurant; poor choice of food.
The location is excellent near the sea front. Lovely hotel and very good value. The staff were very helpful. I would definitely go back.
Classic English hotel well located in Southsea. Have stayed there loads of times. Good breakfasts. Easy parking. Nice staff. However some rooms are better than others ! Go for Double Sea View room if possible which are generally better maintained.
Some problems now and then with taps, radiators, blinds etc - all adds to the occasion ! Is or is not parking "free" ?? Read the contradiction on the booking.com front page.
The location is superb and sea-view rooms excellent. Comfy beds. Breakfasts good, staff really helpful.
They now charge guests to park overnight. I feel it would be better business practice if they concealed parking charges in the tariff. I've stayed in many hotels in this area and this is the first time I've been charged extra to park.
The staff were fantastic would defo be booking again thank you
Location is great and you can walk along by the sea into Gunwalf Quay taking a greT detour through Old Pirtsmouth.
Found the bed small and uncomfortable
The location ,and the breakfast was very good ,bed was clean
Room was not good couldn't get Wi-Fi as stated, carpet was dirty
