This modern hotel is in Portsmouth city centre, just 500 metres from Portsmouth and Southsea Rail Station. The Ibis Hotel Portsmouth has a 24-hour snack menu, on-site parking and a stylish restaurant....

Arrived at 21.20 and food was only served until 21.30 but the chef was kind enough to stay and cook me a meal, friendly staff, good location
Bed was very uncomfortable, there was no television remote in the room, shower was either very hot or freezing cold.
Great location and easy parking. Breakfast was hot and tasty with well cooked eggs, which is not always the case from a buffet. Great views from the room.
This may seem a small point but the devil is in the detail. The loo rolls are far from soft, they really need to change the brand, awful, reminded me of school. Also although the room wad pleasant, there was a really strong draft coming through the door to the balcony.
Location great, close to our daughter's home! Many shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk!
Our room was far too hot and the bed far too small! Rooms and public areas beautifully decorated but corridors grubby and old and in need of attention. Shame-I've wanted to stay here for many years but feel it was not worth the money.
room was very spacious and comfortable The waiter in the bar was helpful and gave our friends milk for their tea
no shower reception staff not friendly asked for £5 parking charge and upfront payment for room as if we couldn't afford it ! They did not know where razor point was in room our friends asked for extra milk and were told to go to the spar down the road! 1st order for breakfast was completely wrong then another waitress took over and it was fine.
on arrival (on crutches) told room on 3rd floor as lifts broken but will be fixed today.room given on 1st floor but with steps to bathroom.!st night wind howling through ill fitting windows which we reported nothing done.put papers into gaps so we could sleep.spoke to manager who said he has the same problem with lift as he lived in (not professional).Lift not working when leaving 48 hrs later and my husband helped an elderly lady from 3rd floor with her bags.No apology just excuses which is why they take your money on arrival. poor customer service and a lot of repairs needed.
Friendly staff on arrival.
Car parking charge. Breakfast items, bacon and sausage not freshly cooked.
good friendly staff ,clean and comfortable..
Very dated T.V only 5 channels.
The hotel continues to charge for outside car parking, which I consider totally inappropriate. It is a service which should be provided without charge, as it is open, and unguarded.
perfect position and lovely views of the solent
beds were rather hard a mattress topper would make it perfect we will be returning in the spring
Room was clean with good bathroom facilities. Bed so comfortable and an overall relaxing atmosphere.
Nothing... except British Weather!!!!!
Good position. Excellent breakfast. Comfy bed.
Shower very old, had to hold whilst showering. Room very bare, no character. Hotel in need of refurbishment throughout.
No TV controller
We were greated by a lovely lady at the front desk, professional and courteous, the hotel has a graceful old world charm, the rooms are huge and we loved the fact we were near the old dockyards within easy walking distance. We enjoyed our stay.
Peace and quiet. Staff most courteous and nothing too much problem.
Hard mattress and chambermaids are a bit keen to clean the rooms. Didn't clear empty glasses though.
The downstairs entrence
The rooms not very inviting glad I only had one night. Very tired and plain need overhaul. Was no welcome pack pen or paper very limited tv choice. Quiet depressing room very let down compared with pictures on web site and grand enterance
Size of the rooms and location
fee to park car this is the first time we have to do this at a hotel of this type, we paid £105 for the room amd did not expext to have to pay to park.
Location, friendly and helpful staff, large room with very comfortable large bed.
Would have preferred a fixed shower rather than a mixer tap bath shower.
The staff were great, always there when you needed something, very friendly and professional. The food was excellent, good quality ingredients and interesting dishes. We felt welcome and that the staff enjoyed working at the hotel, which gave a very happy atmosphere.
When I complained the room was cold as rad not working they immediately sent someone round, then gave me another room once they realised they couldn't mend radiator and the electric fire was not a suitable arrangement.
That we had been given a room that was cold and small for £95. They had put in an electric fire but to work this, we had to pull out the bed and disconnect the bedside lamp.
The location is great for the city facilities.
There was no in room menu in the room or breakfast door label
Good location, Excellent staff, receptionist was very good at check in and check out. I do work for a hotel as well. We enjoyed our stay.
It was short stay nothing went wrong.
the scotch at the bar
the bed. pathetic
Lovely bathroom with detachable shower. TV and coffee in room.Windows which open.
Far too hot and couldn 't work out how to turn radiators down/off. Staff did not come when I asked for assistance.
The location and staff.
Food is pretty poor for a hotel - even one as rundown as this one. Fish in batter tasted like cardboard freezer food. Mint tea came with milk? Breakfast fruit option was unbelievably bad. Worst I've seen in a while.
