We found the hotel comfortable and a very good position for shops and touring. The downside was we were very unhappy to find we were on the top floor with four flights of stairs & the top stairway was very steep and there is no lift We are in our late 70s and carrying our cases to our rooms was exhausting. There is no mention of this situation when booking rooms See above

Its location and the fact that it has a car park. The rooms are very small. We had to change ours to a twin because you couldn't "swing a cat" in the double. Even in the twin there wasn't space to store our siutcase. And the plumbing wasn't up to much.

Just a couple of minutes on foot from Clifton village, where there are many restaurants. Despite being on a busy road and being fully booked, the hotel was extremely quiet at night. The car park was already full when we arrived. The water pressure in the shower on the second floor was poor.

Good location, excellent reception staff, no-one bothered us, which was what we wanted. No complaints at all. Nothing, we will stay here the next time we visit.

The room was very small, the food was barely edible. This was probably the worst Best Western that I have stayed in.

It was in the right place at the right price. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed creaked, the hairdryer didn't work and, at 1:30am, neither did my door key so I had to find the Night Porter in the building next door, which was quiet and dark and there was no information about how to get hold of him. Nothing major, but niggles that could easily be sorted and would have made an all together better impression.

Excellent place to stay. Good location, nice breakfast and very clean- room appeared to have been redecorated recently. Surprising it only has 2 stars. Only problem was the wheels on the bed and no carpet which meant it moved around a bit. However,we discovered that this problem could be solved by putting some newspaper under the wheels as a stopper!

I think this hotel offered good value for money in a very convenient location. There was free parking (which is helpful in Bristol) and the hotel was opposite a bus stop into the city centre. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

The hotel always offers a warm welcome, I have stayed here a few times and even when a solo traveller felt safe on my own.The staff are always pleasant and helpful. The location is fantastic right in the heart of Clifton Village and if you are a parent of a Bristol Student its a great location to stay. I have stayed here a few times and its always pot luck with the bathrooms unfortunately this was not good this time as the towel rail heater was not working and the bathroom was freezing but unfortunately all hopes of a warm shower were dashed as the hot water was a meagre trickle and if you increased the water it went freezing cold not a good start to a day.....this is my only complaint about victoria square and surely it wouldn't take much to fix especially as this would put me off staying !

It was really well located for the restaurants and shops of Clifton Village, the bus to the City Centre and the possibilities of walking on Clifton Down or down to the river. Its rather tired looking outside belies a very welcoming warm and comfortable inside. The breakfast was very good and efficiently served. It is a shame they finish breakfast at 9.30am on a Sunday ( although they did serve a group arriving late) - just half an hour extra would be welcome!

I liked everything about the Best Western and I enjoyed telling that to the lovely young lady on recepeption. Its immaculately clean, lovely ambiance, lovely friendly but efficient staff, good breakfast. Beautiful fabrics and furnishings everywhere. Very good. The hotel does not look inviting from the outside which is a a shame but you don't stay on the outside anyway! , but guess that can't be changed very much ........but once inside it's really comfortable. No down sides!!! All good. Not a COMPLAINT....merely an observation that I do not think anything can be done about. THe hotel does not look brilliant from the outside, no instant curb appeal. Having viewed the exterior I do not know what could be done, it blends with all the surrounding builings. As long as people do not judge the gook by its cover all will be well!!! Its so lovely inside and immaculate.

Excellent Location, very pleasant staff and superb breakfast. Beds were not attached to the walls and were on casters which meant we couldnt sit up in bed and read or watch television without the bed travelling across the floor. This was really, really irritating.

In a quiet area of Bristol, well-placed for my purposes. Room rather small, but ok for a single person who needed a bed for a night. One light needs to be repalced. Breakfast good with generous availability of food. Helpful lady at reception on Sunday morning. Room rather small and a long way up in the building.

Great location near the Clifton nightlife; nice, historic atmosphere to the building itself; good quality breakfast; helpful staff; even had parking, which is difficult in Clifton. None - a good quality, good location hotel at a reasonable price.
