Brook Beverley Arms HotelNorth Bar Within, HU17 8DD Beverley (Show map) Pleasant, Score from 137 reviews“The staff were friendly, polite and good not do enough for you.”
Raymond,
Swindon
This 18th-century traveler's inn is close to the medieval center of town, half a mile from Beverley Train Station and Beverley Minster. It has free parking and a restaurant. The Beverley Arms was built in 1794. It mixes original character and traditional furnishings with modern comforts. When it was a coaching house, the building had connections with the famous criminal, Dick Turpin. It still has original stone floors. The rooms have TVs, hairdryers, work desks and tea/coffee. The private attached bathrooms have showers and toiletries. The restaurant serves traditional cuisine, made using fresh ingredients. The Beverley Arms has a bar and 24-hour room service. It offers public transportation to York, Leeds Hull, Doncaster and Sheffield. Hotel Rooms: 56

Room 120 we stayed in was absolutely disgustingly filthy, behind the bathroom door was a pile of hair fluff and grime, the bath was disgusting and the shower door and surround was appauling. The window in the room had thick black mould and filth around it. The carpet was not hoovered properly there were hairs visible. I actually felt like asking for my money back but my partner was embarrassed about the whole thing and just wanted to get out. It really was appauling that room and I would like some feedback as to a credit for another night free in a clean room just to prove that this was a one off, although the filth in the room had obviously been around for a long time..

Relaxed atmosphere/excellent breakfast This is not a complaint, just an observation.areas within the hotel look a little tired /this does not in any way detract from the excellent atmosphere /but a facelift would further improve a lovely hotel

The location was ideal for us and near the town centre with adequate car parking We had to reject the first room we were given as the bed base was heavily water soiled and the chairs were all full of holes. When we complained were were offered and alternative room which was adequate but could have been better. Having said that it is a very old building and must be difficult to keep up to. Breakfast was very good indeed.

Good car parking facilities. Good ground floor rooms - warm and welcoming. Lovely old house. Bar staff friendly and helpful. Our room was shabby and expensive compared to other accomodation we have used in Beverley. Breakfast staff were a bit 'laid back' although not busy.

The staff, apart from one particular person, were excellent, Very friendly and always helpful. The food was good. The location, if you are sightseeing is excellent. Car parking facilities are excellent. Small matters, like the Electric kettle had obviously been removed for some reason and not replaced, hence no cup of coffee when I woke up in the morning. No way of removing the plug in the bathroom sink, had to bale out the water using a plastic cup.

From checkin to departure was a poor experience. The staff were NOT professional. The room was dirty with hairs in the sink, dirt around the toilet and the carpet not vacuumed. Breakfast service was really poor and staff were not interested. Overall, a really poor hotel experience. I raised these point plus others with the General Manager, but was not that interested - may explain why the overall standard is poor. Thanks Overall poor quality and service

We thought the location was fantastic, the staff were really helpful and definately a bonus that you allow dogs. Felt there could be more than 2 plug sockets and surfaces in the bathroom for toiletries would have been really useful

We feel the public rooms have a nice ambiance, it is easy to get to by car, and it has car parking. It is good to offer omelette at breakfast, and it was very good. We wish there had been two comfortable chairs (lounging chairs) in our room instead of only one. We do not count the chair in front of the desk/dressing table as a lounging chair. The lack of lift to certain rooms, although we were offered help with our luggage.

Its location is really good if you have meetings in and around the Hull, Grimsby area. Plenty of free parking facilities. Good breakfast. I stayed in room 201 which is not one of the updated rooms. The room was of good size. The bathroom, although clean, is really grubby and badly dated and ought to be modernised.

Wayne on reception who dealt with our concerns in a pleasant and professional manner. You must have a tricky job Wayne as the product you are representing is not great and you have to smile and take the flack! Clearly you pay for the location of the Beverley Arms Hotel which is in the centre of Beverley. The small shabby room (216) we were put in was in the old listed part of the building and is in great need of a face- lift to say the least. The shower was painfully slow and produced only produced warm water, which is a real bug bear of mine, I can put up with most things but I do feel a hot shower is a basic requirement. I would also have liked the free wifi, in the room, not just in the public area. When our cooked breakfast eventually arrived it was good. My wife and I had our wedding reception here over 20 years ago and unfortunately the hotel has just gone downhill since then, with little or no change to the rooms and standards.
