The B&B was in an excellent location for all our needs and the owners were really nice people who took time to interact with their customers. Brilliant. Could not fault it.
We stayed in the annex room, at the bottom of the garden! Away from other guests, so didn't have to worry about slamming doors or noisy TVs. Big, comfy bed. Friendly owner who was very helpful. As a vegetarian the staff asked me what I wanted for breakfast, then went and got it especially, they even asked what my favorite brand of sausage was!
We had to rush out and get cash on checkout, as even though booking.com states that they take cards, they took cash only.
The owner, Brian, was lovely to deal with. He and Vicky ensured we had an enjoyable stay in Whitby. When not feeling well on one of the three days we stayed at Big Sky B&B a tray was sent up with a hot pot of tea and a small heater was left by the door if needed. I didn't need it as the room was comfortably heated, but really appreciated the consideration offered to me. We enjoyed a lovley breakfast each morning in the sunny dining room, and Brian was more than happy to take the time to tell us about various places of interest in and around the area. We would happilly stay at Big Sky again when returning to Whitby.
Quiet secluded room in annexe.
Room not generally heated so damp feel with woodlice a plenty. cobwebs on ceiling/lights.
Very helpful and friendly owner. Excellent breakfast. Room spacious and comfortable.
mattress protector on bed plastic and not breathable.
Brian the host went out of his way to make us feel at home and was a graet source of info about Whitby.
We were the only occupants so parking was not a problem.
The comfortable bed cleanliness and breakfast. Very friendly owner.
Ideal situated place, 5 mins walk from town centre, a very friendly place ,owners were absolutely sound, room was spot on ,nice size ,clean and very comfortable, breakfast was nice, service was spot on.Overall stay was ideal, couldn't ask for more. Would definitely recommend to people
Stayed in the annex which was very cozy. Had the best sleep i've ever had in a b&b/hotel due to the most comfortable of beds! Very nice full English breakfast. Excellent location.
Off road parking was a bit too steep for my handbrake, but parked on the street ok.
Although we arrived late, it took a bit of time to fine, the owner took time to Welcome us room was well clean tidy I was inpress breakfast great . I would defiantly go there again, I have complain.brian went out of his way to get a travel guide as it is my first time in Whitby enjoy my time
Friendly host very helpful great breakfast comfortable bed wold recommend it
everythink no points to complain
nothing to dislike
Greeted on arrival by Brian, was offered a map of area. Room was was spotless and bed very comfortable, excellent full cooked breakfast & extra tea & toast. Made to feel very welcome.
The weather was awful which shortened our stay!
The friendliness of the host, the quality of the bedding and the freshly cooked breakfast.
The bathroom lacked a shelf and bin and the bedroom lighting needs improving.
A stones throw from the centre of whitby, mega comfortable bed in the annex room, excellent host who bent over backwards to make our stay wonderfull will be back 10/10.
Good host breakfast great cleanliness spot on and the most comfortable bed slept in away from home
On-site parking plus on-street parking. Easy walk to Whitby town centre. Victorian charm. Quiet at night. Opposite a park.
Stairs - no lift; owner helped with bags.
Lovely friendly atmosphere. great breakfast. staff very helpful.
I booked 2 nights for myself my son and my daughter and the 3 of us really enjoyed our stay there, really nice breakfast every morning and Brian goes out of his way to look after you.
Nice breakfast, clean room and friendly host. Parking was available (though with a bit of a juggling act at times.)
This B&B was advertised as 'luxury accommodation' although the room was tidy, clean and comfortable I think it fell short of luxurious. The windows in the room would benefit from a rub with a soapy cloth and the wc is housed in what I would describe as a cupboard (rather a tight squeeze even for me)
Close to central Whitby and the park with good museum in. parking spaces. Great breakfast. Friendly, approachable host.
Single pane windows which would be fine if there weren't so many seagulls waking us up at 5am... although this is to be expected near the seaside.
Soft pillows and comfy bed
Building work started at 8am next door.. was a nightmare, didn't go to sleep until after 2am!! Had to leave the B&B immediately, he knew about the work and the noise, but didn't say anything. The place is dated, not really my cup of tea, not too keen on the bloke running it, had to wait 45 mins for breakfast.. I wont be going back..
There was nothing not to like. Brian was brilliant; rooms excellent; would definitely stay again. Lynn and Barbara
Brian and Vicky could not have been nicer or more willing to accommodate our needs. Top people, very homely place. We've stayed there before, and will definitely do so again.
Highly recommend this very welcoming and comfortable BB, with very friendly hosts Brian and Vicky who couldn't be more helpful. The family rooms are very clean and spacious with a hearty breakfast, what more could you want from a holiday.
