The Big Blue Hotel - Pleasure Beach Resort  

I was dissapointed that there wasnt a good hotel bar with a tv to watch the cup final. The bar was more of a waiting area for the restaurant which was a shame as we only had one drink in there and was looking forward to relaxing in a good on site bar.

The bar was very homely, lots of sofa's & chairs. The breakfast & evening meals were very good. All the staff were very kind & helpful.

We didn't like the noise in the room above us, children running back & forth across the floor.

into park early but no rides open till 10-30 ? pointless exit to hotel closed so had to walk further to get back to hotel so bit more correct advise would have been nice

Some of the equipment broken(heating) hard to reach front desk sometimes been on the phone 10-15 min waiting and some staff couldn`t spek english and has been really rude!!The worst experience was waiting in the lobby for 25 minutes at breakfest to be seated!!!Really a nightmare!!!

We were given a family room which meant it was very spacious unlike other hotels I have stayed in. Also the breakfast was self service so you could choose what suited you.

We arrived half an hour early and we were soaked from the rain and so we stayed in the foyer waiting to check in. The staff were fully aware that we were there and why we were there as we had our bags with us and we had a conversation with a staff member. However, when another guest arrived (also early) they were checked in straight away. As a result of this I think the staff need training in customer service and manners. Also we were informed of all the facilities available on arrival apart from the gym. I have stayed at this hotel many of times and not once has the private entrance to the pleasure beach been open...you have to walk about 10 minutes to the main entrance.

Friendly and helpfull dining room staff. Good size room. Room facilities. Choice of breakfast food.

Not so friendly reception staff. Not so friendly female breakfast chef. Smell of burnt toast in the morning. Rear automatic door did not operate as it should at the times it should.

The rooms were nice and clean. Very much like a Premier Inn in terms of style and furniture. Parking was easy on site. Breakfast offered a good choice and was tasty. Passes and access to the pleasure beach very handy.

Kids!!! Everywhere. We are two couples in our 30s/40s and we are not children haters by any stretch but we did get fed up of the kids in the bar. A seperate family bar or area would be good. Or market the hotel as a family hotel. Also feel the rooms are overpriced at £92. £75 would be more like it. It's nice but not luxurious.

Noise from room above for the two nights we stayed and staff did nothing to help never offered a different room or anything. Other than that a really nice place too stay

the fire wasn't working although it was repaired straight away and in the morning I found that the iron wasn't working and I didn't have time to report it so i had to wear something else which was very inconvenient

The location for the pleasure beach was outstanding. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were a pleasure to sleep in. The hotel was very clean, the bed was very comfy and the kids sleeping area was also of an excellent standard especially with them having TV's to watch. The food in the morning was of a very high standard and there was no shortage either.

I cannot fault my stay with you, it was excellent from start to finish.

The loverley lady behind the bar Sat eve and Sunday morning breakfast, Dark hair and glasses. And the upgrade to a deluxe room and free car park.

The noisy neighbours coming in at midnight, the whole floor shook, I thought they were coming in through the wall. The fiasco of a breakfast, noisy and crowded, food was tasteless, and a stupidly long queue for tea and toast. Breakfast cold by the time we got back to the table. Not a leisurely breakfast as we usually get in 4* hotels.

Doors not very disabled friendly struggled opening door an pushing wheelchair through. First nights stay wasn't good at all room next door very noisy with small children through the night. Receptionist answer oh they won't be staying again tomorrow. That's not good enough!

Fantastic hotel, great facilities and location. Very close to the beach and right on the doorstep of the Pleasure beach. Friendly welcoming staff, very accommodating. Very clean and spacious rooms and great meals.

Our bed was a little bit soft for our liking but don't let that put you off.

Stayed in the delux room 416 thought was very nice and comfortable food in restaurant was amazing... And so was the breakfast.

We could not sleep as we were disturbed by kids in the room next to us screaming/playing till 1pm in the morning... We did contact the desk and informed them.. Can honestly say it did spoil our stay at the hotel.. But could not fault anything else..
