The breakfast was good and located near Bicester Village! The place was in need of repair, from the moment we arrived we had to drive around brokenrail fencing in the carpark, another guest who was disabled needed help getting up the ramp from the carpark because the concrete was broken up! In our room handles on the cupboards draws were missing, the sink had a big crack in it, a king size bed with just two cheap thin pillows on it! Could not get the TV to work, went to the bar to watch the news, no sound as they had lost the remote! Worst of all was the rush matting carpet which was uncomfortable to walk on, was coming apart in places and was so rough it ripped my wifes tights. Take into consideration we were in the best four poster room available!

It was near Bignell Park Barns where I was doing a day course. I liked the room and the peaceful location and the outside garden and parking [which was near to the Hotel.] The staff were very welcoming and the Breakfast was good. We enjoyed sitting watching the tv in the spacious lounge in the evening, but didn't realise there was a bar area. The bed was v comfortable with extra pillows. It's always nice to have the opportunity to make a cup of tea when first arriving, though no fruit teas available. I felt the car park needed to have a tarmac job as there were large puddles. I thought the bathroom floor's ceramic tiling needed to be grouted again. I also thought the dining room needed a coat of paint and the curtians needed replacing [very 1980s] All in all I felt that some of the more public areas needed to be "loved " a little. There is great potential for this Hotel to be great rather than good.

Very good location for Bicester shopping outlet approx 5mins by car. Room was dull and dated in need of decoration, bar area small and restaurant was average. Hotel living on it's past reputation and in need of a total revamp. Suited our needs.

The staff were polite and helpful. The food was delicious. The room was clean and spacious, and pleasantly decorated. The limited food service hours. I had to wait for a long time to get some food, and was lucky that the lovely receptionist was kind enough to arrange my food as soon as the chef was in, which meant I managed to eat about an hour before the *official* kitchen opening time. The doors on the rooms make a terrible slamming noise and when other guests go in and out during the night, the noise is loud enough to wake you up. The bed was very uncomfortable, as extremely hard. I slept very badly due to noisy guests (had to complain to reception and the noise did diminish), slamming doors and the uncomfortable bed.

The restaurant is fantastic. The wifi internet is not working and the staff is not helpful to get them fixed even they know this is not the first time they hear about this problem. The first day of my stay has no hot water but guest was not informed in advance.

A lovely hotel. Quiet, country, olde-worldy, dark wood and leather chairs. As a woman travelling alone for business, I felt very comfortable and relaxed here and would definately stay again. Good quality food and good service. Advertises wifi but it didn't work for me so don't rely on it! It is also a bit out of the way but ok if u have a car.

The rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed, the hotel is situated within easy reach of Oxford and Bicester Village, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock and the Tews The lady who served breakfast was charming and efficient. We were booked in through booking.com for half board on Sunday evening for a very reasonable price. We chose this hotel for pricing as well as the fact that not many places offer Sunday evening dining in the area.We drove from Devon, arrived, only to be told that the kitchen was closed, and we were directed to the village pub! The television in the room had no remote control to operate it - back to the lonely recetionist, who told us that wedding parties took the remote controls home , in the end we had to get the TV changed . The receptionist though trying to be helpful (go to the village pub) was not very well trained and did not handle the situation very well.

Location convenient to Bicester Shopping Outlet. The room was more basic than superior. Some basic cleaning had been overlooked as the window blind was covered in dust and cobwebs. The bathroom floor needed replacing; with missing grout and cracked tiles - very poor. Breakfast was disorganised with one member of staff trying to greet guests, lay tables and serve with little useful assistance from her collegue. Cold selection limited and not replaced. Cooked breakfast very average. Only visible staff were very young and inexperienced. When we checked out we found the hotel had over charged us; fortunately we had a copy of our booking and did receive a refund.

Good size room. Excellent breakfast and helpful staff. Muddy car park. Lack of maintenance in the room. Cold tap almost impossible to turn off and tiles loose and rising in bathroom. Apparently the hotel does not have maintenance staff on call.

The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The location was fantastic for me as a course I was on was only a couple of miles away. Bicester village was also within a 5 min drive. The room I stayed in was a bit tired looking, (some bathroom floor tiles were broken) however for the price I paid I still feel that I got really good value for money and would recomend the hotel to other buisness travelers.

Location and grounds are excellent; unfortunately as soon as one walks through the door it all goes downhill. Too few staff, nobody manning reception, same person doing bar and other tasks. Room adequate but no better than many at half the price, therefore ? Superior. Fan missing from bathroom, wire hanging out of the wall and ? air venting from adjacent bathroom. Food 'nouvelle cuisine' in style (i.e. not enough!) and the ingredients were poor. Service was slow, young staff with no direction. Breakfast average in quality, tea delayed due to 'shortage of teapots' (hotel did not appear to be full!). Disappointing weekend.

A nice quiet location, yet close to Bicester and many particularly good country pubs. The hotel environment was very relaxing; a nice garden to sit in; plenty of parking; helpful staff. As noted in previous reviews, the tv had a mind of its own at times, the odd light did not work, and hot water was lacking if you chose to shower at the wrong time (during the early morning rush). That said, all these were considered minor issues and did not detract from what was a pleasant stay.

The best thing about the Bignell Park is The Oaks restaurant.£20per head for a terrific 3 course meal is a bargain. If we lived locally we would eat there regularly. We had 2 nights b+b for £140 and we felt it was a good price but that was a half price offer and I wouldn't pay much more as the hotel needs some tlc. Nothing so bad as to spoil our 2 night stay but needs a bit of attention.Poor grouting in the bathroom, lead for kettle not long enough to reach electric point so had to boil kettle by moving it off the unit onto the floor and awful window blinds are the first 3 things that come to mind.Very annoying oversights. This hotel could be fantastic but the owners seem to be happy treading water.
