Score from 1579 reviews Fabulous
The room was dirty and smelt like someone had previously been smoking in there. The bed sheets also had stains on them and the room genuinely looked as if it was an office with a bed put in the middle of it. The rooms do not look like the photos, the only thing the same was the decor.
Really comfy bed Very clean Quiet room Helpful staff Central location
Facilities not topped up so there was no tea Confusing layout
Stayed here monday night as me and my friend were going to watch the big reunion at the motorpoint arena. Honestly couldnt believe how close we were to it and our room was looking straight at it.
Our shower did not work in room 708 and what was up with those curtains? They were literally just blankets hung up lol and the main room did remind me a bit of a hospital with the massive blue cutains lol
Being a no frills hotel you don't expect much but the staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the beds comfy. Breakfast was basic but it was fine. Couldn't really ask for anything more.
I can't think of anything negative - yes the breakfast was very basic with little choice but it was fine.
Quality of hotel fixtures & fittings and a really poor arrangement for breakfast and the continental breakfast itself
Brilliant location. Good value for money. Parking on site. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.
Close to bars and parking extra stay good value for money
I thought the location of the hotel was excellent for us as we had tickets to see Miranda Hart at the Motorpoint Arena, which is just across the road from the big sleep hotel. The staff were very helpful. We were very lucky to get a space in the car park too!
The only thing I thought was very poor was the leaky ceiling in the breakfast room. A lot of the chairs were wet. I don't know what was causing the drips but it looked like what ever it was, was bad. It was fairly busy at breakfast and some people had no choice but to sit in the wet.
Access to the Arena Clean, comfortable Tea makings Fluffy towels and lots of hot water
No chest of drawers and no hangers
Banging doors all night. 1 thin pillow. Dirty room. Dirty bath. Can't open windows. Rude staff. Lack of parking spaces. Food was awful.
Clean bedding and towels and comfortable beds
The carpets needed cleaning
Fantastic location for motorpoint arena! Big tripple room.
The television! Old and small with no remote
Staff at Reception were happy for me to leave my luggage during the day
Room was so smelly I had to get up and spray perfume before I could sleep. Carpet was like walking on a Brillo pad. Some of fittings in bathroom were in disrepair. Lighting was harsh. Windows needed cleaning. I don't know why blanket material had been used for curtains. Bed wasn't comfortable. Plug sockets were in awkward places. The strangest place I have ever stayed in, like dodgy student halls
I was there for a concert and I can never fault a night stay at the big sleep, best night sleep, superb hotel and perfect location!
Cheaper parking nearby. Nice breakfast , helpful staff
Cheap , friendly staff
Good value for money. Had good facilities.
The decor was basic.
Comfortable and cosy beds Nice, kind staff
Excellent location close to the city centre. Great price. Spacious rooms.
Location All you can eat buffet breakfast Helpful and friendly staff
Where shall I start?! First impressions count: hated late check-in 3pm and early check-out 10.30am - come on! ... With name like Big Sleep expected great night sleep - wrong - five hours first night just 3 the second - had to complain re noisy guests till 2.45am and got no feedback re my complaint - and apparently no action against offending guests; the tea-making facilities were 'hidden' in cupboard under desk where would not expect to find them and I ended up buying a kettle unnecessarily - keep your facilities in sight folks! No information in rooms re facilities other than wifi notice - which was a whopping £7.50 per day compared with more reasonable £3 per day at Premier Inn the day before; Shockingly badly located bath which was tucked away in alcove with taps almost inaccessible = you had to either risk back injury or step into the bath to turn on the water - all it needed was centrally positioned taps on the wall instead of at the far end of the bath, and all taps leaky. Poor qualify furniture, chipped fibreboard, and bed on noisy squeaky slats. Could see mattress through sheets they were so thin. General impression I got was that they didn't care much about maintenance and this was a hotel for young people/backpackers rather than older folk like me - although I did see a few more oldies most guests seemed to be under 30 of the no sleep brigade so need to consider changing name of the hotel which is highly misleading IMHO. Not a hotel I would stay in again - sorry. Not for me. No way, never again - not even if you paid me!
the hotel close to the venue nice soft bed free tea and coffee in the room and a continental breakfast
noisy people slamming doors
Close to the mororpoint arena, and it was cheap.
Unclean! There were bogeys on the wall...the bathroom had quite clearly not been cleaned properly, there were hairs in the bath, and not all were from the head!! I actually bought cleaning products to sort it. And to top it off, the corridors stunk of weed.
Very nice view from top floors
That entrance was downstairs and reception was upstairs. Was a bit confusing.
Excellent location close to the train station Great value for money The breakfast in the morning was very good a great continental breakfast with plenty of food available
Easily accessed Plenty of choice at breakfast.
The furry curtains. The charge for parking wasn't made clear at time of booking. The fact that there was no cooked breakfast wasn't made clear at time of booking.
