“We needed a place to stay for one night only; We were not looking to spend much and were not expecting luxury. It was simply excellent value for money. Our room was clean and the continental breakfast was good.”

The location of the hotel for central Cardiff is excellent. The staff obviously work hard in keeping the rooms and customer areas clean and tidy. this was our second stay at the hotel and we will probably use it again. Like the alternative design in the hotel, it is refreshing. Stayed in room 1008 and I am sure that someone must have known that the base of the bed was already broken, not condusive to sleep when each time you turn over in bed there are loud creaks and groans from the bed. The neighbours must have thought there was 20 of us in the room trying to sleep in one bed. The curtains could do with refreshing, either cleaning or replacing.

It was convenient, good value for money, lived up to it's description, very clean, easy to come and go and I would probably return here. Breakfast was a bit too casual but having said this it was adequate. No tea and coffee facilities in the room.

Location was great, parking limited but available of site at a better price. Did not have a kettle in the room, but once I made a call to reception a kettle arrived within 10 minutes. Great service and price. There was only one lift working and my room was on the 7th floor.

The rooms were very large The hotel is very run down. The first room I was put in was moldy and they hadn't hoovered. The second room was better but they still hadn't hoovered!! The place needs a good clean and to be repainted. The staff were nice enough but the cleaners were pretty bad and didn't even remove the dirty cup I had used for tea the previous night. This place is backpack level and has no place advertising as a new and hip hotel. If I was John Malkovic I would not want my name associated with the place.

Good price, no problems with check in, we had a disabled friend whose wheelchair was no problem in the larger twin room we asked for, and the corridors, which was good. Mediocre cleanliness of the rooms - could do with a paint - and horrific shagpile curtains!? One of our bedsheets was a little dusty, however it wasn't anywhere near as bad as it could have been, and was perfectly acceptable for a couple of nights - we were at a conference all day so really just needed a place to sleep.

Location Room reeked of stale smoke and had no way to open windows or control ventilation or temperature. No phone. Breakfast was included and basic but ok. But they charged extra for everything else like the few minutes of parking during checkin and late checkout.

It's a well positioned, well priced, comfortable hotel. Wether it's for a shopping trip, business trip, or like myself, I found it very handy whilst attending a gig (I didn't have to risk missing any trains), it's very convenient and I would fully recommend the hotel to anyone thinking to make the most of a day/night out. Nothing really wrong with the hotel or it's staff. I suppose the rooms could be a bit more modern (dated brown fluffy curtains for example) and I know it's not the hotels fault, but the views from the windows at the back aren't that great, dirty river with rubbish and debris, railway line, building site. But generally the hotel itself is good.

The reception staff especally the women working back shift on sunday 13th of may I went into one room and refused to stay there as there was black think mauld all around the bath and shower. I went to reception who were excellent and changed my room no problem however the second room was the same. I went to make a cuppa and had to go back to reception yet again due to the kettle being disgusting with lime scale inside. The reception staff were extreamly friendly especally the women working back shift on the 13th she really did all she could to make my stay very comfortable so thank you for that. However the housekeeping staff really need to up there game granted its a low budget hotel but i do expect my room to be clean and mauld free

We needed a place to stay for one night only; We were not looking to spend much and were not expecting luxury. It was simply excellent value for money. Our room was clean and the continental breakfast was good. I was critical of the tea at breakfast. I would have preferred boiling water and tea bags. The prepared tea was a bit stewed by the time we got to the breakfast room.

THe availability of car parking was brilliant, the rooms are a good size and lovely views, One of the two lifts are out of order and waiting for parts from Spain (if they ever come) apparently they're obsolete. If it were me I'd replace the lifts, it would be worth it in the long term. Whats happenning is because the lifts take ages people hold them for others which effectively makes it impossible for others to get a lift. I'd recommend a polite sign on the ground to 3rd floors requesting people walk the stairs to save time and money for everyone. One guy waited about 5 minutes to go up one floor and he seemed fit enough, I was amazed! Windows were dirty, bathroom a little tired too

Brilliant location in central Cardiff, a short walk from the station. Pleasant & clean. Very noisy the weekend we were there with hen/stag parties returning in the early hours, not much sound insulation.
