I liked the modern decor especially in the breakfast room. Also the continental breakfast was very good and the proximity of the hotel to the shopping centre was excellent. |

The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff are welcoming, friendly and obliging and the hotel is situated in a great location near to all the city centre attractions. Also, the design of the hotel is different from the usual run of the mill |

Very handy location, stone's throw to John Lewis and the shops and the Arena (though noise from there might bother some people), walking distance to station. Funky looking reception and bar. Friendly staff in reception. Our room was very stark - not nearly as nice as I had imagined from the website - and unheated on arrival (though there was a heater we could control once in the room); several items did not work (the heated towel rail in the bathroom, one of the room lights and the telephone handset); bedding was a bit too lightweight for winter though bed was otherwise very comfortable; there was meant to be a hairdryer on each floor but there was none on ours. Fur fabric curtains were a dreary worn beige - horrible! Wanted to treat my daughter to a really fun (and comfortable) hotel but it didn't really deliver... Also on a very busy unattractive road. |

I liked the location as it was opposite the cardiff arena! The extra bed for the children was broken(one of the legs had snapped off) and the room was very basic and shabby, the remote for the tv didn't work, and there was only warm water to clean my teeth! I was expecting a lot more than what I actually got, according to the pictures and the wording from your website I was expecting a really modern and retro hotel, what I actually got was a block of offices where the rooms were painted in a bright colour! I just found it very very basic and not as it was described in your website :( |

Our room was spacious and warm,we found the facilities clean and comfortably. The bright attractive decor, in the breakfast room and bar/lounge area were great. Parking was an issue on site as we arrived later than expected. |

I liked the minimalist elements of the hotel, the room had no clutter or useless ornaments making it easy to maintain and be kept clean. If you're looking for somewhere cheap to stay in a city centre where you just need a bed and a bathroom then this is the place for you. It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay in a different ,modern hotel. I for one, look forward to staying at The Big Sleep again soon. Thank-you J.M. |

The room was freezing on arrival. We left the heating on when we were out and returned to a nice warm room. It was a choice between a Travelodge and yourselves in hindsight I should have booked the latter. They are far more comfortable and at least the rooms are heated on your arrival. We won't be using you again I'm afraid. |

The location couldnt have been better. Great for shops, restaurants and a taste of city life. Unfortunately the curtains were filthy. I have noticed previous comments about this from former residents at the hotel. If this was rectified, it would be a great hotel. |

Liked the proximity to the city centre, and to the CIA (as we were there to attend a concert). Liked the size of the room and the big windows and view. The floor and curtains had stains on them which was a bit unpleasant. |

The space in the room (family room) was good and the children enjoyed the choices available for their breakfast. The staff were attentive and we were able to leave luggage at the hotel after we had checked out. The hotel was very child friendly. The decor was a bit tired and the hanging rail that was the wardrobe had seen better days. We only wanted somewhere to rest our heads so we weren't that bothered about these details. The check out time of 10.30a.m. seemed rather early, but then we do like a lie-in! |

Decor + Large windows = light/airy "feel" The Coffe at breakfast was from a flask. Fresh coffee from, say, a vending machine set to "free-vend" for the breakfast period would be a better choice. |
