Staff working through the night were very friendly and helpful

Housekeeping staff walked in whilst we were still sleeping before 10am and again when we were changing - was not made aware this was a possibility nor given the option of a 'do not disturb' sign.

The room which we were allocated had previously housed a dog. There were dog bowls outside our room. Both my wife and I suffered flea bites

    Spa was lovely

Sofa bed was pretty hideous. Mattress really poor. Mini fridge and fresh milk would be a bonus too.

Truly historic building and grounds were quiet and well maintained even at the height of tourist season. Good food and great staff. We'll definitely stay there again.

It is well situated in the countryside as long as you are driving your own car. There is nothing nearby so options for food or activity are limited to the hotel. Fortunately the food was quite good if a tad pricey.

Had a lovely overnight stay at Billesley Manor. Made the most of the leisure facilities and had a delicious evening meal in the bar area from the Make me a Blush menu. Our room was upgraded free of charge which was a nice surprise when we came to check out! Only downside was the weather!

A bit cramped at breakfast. Not huge eating areas in the hotel - the buffet was set out in the bar area and guests sat either in the Great Hall or Stuart restaurant. And breakfast was a little on the cool side. The staff were lovely though.

I loved the bar food. The staff in the bar were lovely, very helpful and seemed to be enjoying work. The exterior of the house is beautiful. Lovely to walk around and relax. There is also excellent parking.

My room was stifling hot. The windows do not open fully, in fact they only opened about 2 inches. It was very warm especially if you have showered recently. I used the spa and although it was a lovely experience. My massage was booked to be an hour and only lasted 50 minutes. On top of that there was a lot of noise from the road outside. I have personally had better spa experiences from less well known spas.

Beautiful Building Swimming pool water was warm - Lovely

Lack of choice in dinning room - ran out of Beef main course at 8.30pm Ran out of Cheese Board! Ran out of ice Staff seemed unable to cope though they did had a wedding on, though not good for a 4* hotel. Was not the relaxing time in a country hotel on a Sunday I had hoped for!!

Beautiful Historic building and gorgeous gardens in an ideal location. Bedroom was quiet and peaceful even though there was a wedding on.

Service and facilities were poor. Spa pool over run with children from 2 - 5pm and not cleaned afterwards. Standard rooms were basic travel lodge standard, therefore over priced. Shower in room not suitable for anyone over 5'4" due to ceiling slope.

setting and the place as a whole was good

the time taken to get dinner and the mixup with staff as which guests to serve first .manager not on hand to take control comes and apologises and then disappears instead of taking charge and sorting things out a complete shambles we did not have breakfast as other guest said that breakfast was also a fiasco waiting for service it spoilt a good venue

    Garden

Catering service and quality of the breakfast. No better than a motorway cafe in the old days. Staff too slow to clean up. Quality of items at breakfast was very low, almost the cheapest sausages for example and the bread was defrosted constapation inducing rubbish. A countryside manor should be able to supply better produce. Hot chocolate was from a packet and they charged 3.50 gbp. Rooms were too hot and the bedding was for winter. No aircon. Only a few rooms have a decent view. Ours looked onto a road.

    good location within nice grounds

Appeared to be no overall supervision, staff doing their best but often unable to understand your requirements. The breakfasts were a total shambles complete lack of supervision, awful food quality at an extortionate price. The rooms were very tired and in need of a refurb. certainly no way near 4*

The staff were very polite and professional.

We stayed for just 2 nights. There were wedding parties all the time. If you are not with them you don't feel comfortable. If I had known there was going to be 2 wedding does I would not have booled.

Room was comfortable and had large bed Rooms outside main building were quiet

Bar was horrendously expensive. £30 for a bottle of wine that you could get for £4 at a supermarket? Breakfast was undercooked (hash browns and sausages)

The room we were finally given was nice with chairs table and comfortable bed. But we had to ask to swop room as our first was awful worse than and £20 a night travel lodge The breakfast was good

the first room we were allocated was worse than a travel lodge room definately not 4 star. With grubby curtains overlooking the cooling ducts above the swimming pool. So no view and very very dark. The food and bar drinks were very expensive.

We like Billesley Manor because of its historic references, tranquil and relaxed setting. The online booking facility was good and worked well. The hotel seems safe and car park vandal free. The food was satisfactory but over priced.

Overpriced hotel, room, breakfast, dinner / bar snack. For the size of Room 73 I would expect to pay around £53 per night for a Sunday evening business stop over for one night. The staff whilst polite need maturity to be convincing with their sincerity. Customers notice if manners are forced rather than genuine, intonation and individuality always shine through.

Very disappointing. Looked impressive from the outside but once inside the reception area, it was evident that the place was in dire need of a thorough clean and major refurbishment. Carpets were frayed and in some areas, held together with staples. Not as good as photos represented on the website.Breakfast was poor and not very hygienically presented.
