The location and surrounds were beautiful. The room, even though a standard double, was very nice and well designed. Both the drinks and food were overpriced for what is was. |

The room was spacious and well equipped and the price was reasonable for the type of hotel There was no cold water for the wash basin and the service at breakfast was poor due to limited number of staff. There was a fair amount of queuing and waiting for the buffet to be replenished. |

The front desk got me tickets for a Shakespear play in town on his 445th birthday..good job !!! No all was excellent and the atmosphere peaceful |

The room was large, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We did have a broken remote control for the TV but mentioned it to Reception and it was replaced with a new one. The pool was perfect for an afternoon dip and it was particularly nice as we were the only two people in it at the time. We did not eat or drink in the hotel (other than the included breakfast) as the prices were extortionate. |

The building is beautiful and is set in lovely grounds, including an incredible topiary garden Yes. The price of the drinks in the hotel bar was extortionate |

Grounds Our stay was ruined by the view from the room (a roof) and staff telling us we could not attend our evening meal as my wife was wearing trainers. I had read the web information on booking.com, the hotel room information pack and neither stated this. The receptionist also did not mention this as we booked the meal. We were forced to go into Stratford late at night to eat. |

The hotel was grand and attractive, the reception staff were very friendly The room chosen was a premier room for the extra space, large bed and comforts. However, the bed was two beds pushed together which if you lay in the join was very uncomfortable. The TV was an old style 16" screen where other rooms had a 32" flat screen. This made the TV very hard to see from the bed. The price I paid and the room we got did not reflect each other. |

the staff were quite unwelcoming and they obtained credit off my debit card without my authorisation and had to ring them when i returned to get my money back even though they tried denying they had taken the money. |
