Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.
The town is centered on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road heads east to neighboring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.
Booking.com also has hotels near the BIC (Bournemouth International Center) in the West Cliff area. This convention center and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon with far-reaching views.
At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Nearby, there's a Grade I registered historic church, and St. Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of "Frankenstein."
On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Center, is Bournemouth Airport.

I love Bournemouth, it has everything, from a beautiful , sunny beach, to a walk through the urban and tropical gardens to the shopping centre. There are a wide range of high street stores and some individual shops to be found in the shopping area.
There’s an extensive choice when it comes to restaurants.
There is crazy golf in the park for young and old alike.
In short, Bournemouth has it all, whether young or old, Bournemouth is the place to be.

Constantly harassed by homeless and intoxicated people asking for money and following you when you tell them no.
Did not feel safe at night when out and about. Prices in bars were not far off that in London . So disappointed as everything was unjustly expensive and is the reason my partner and I definitely wont be returning to Bournemouth....

I have visited Bournemouth many of times, it’s a beautiful coast and everything is not too far away to visit other places.
We had two great meals out, one in town at wildwood and the other at urban gardens. Highly recommend both.

Bournemouth is fantastic for all ages.
Bournemouth is fantastic for all ages. The sandy beach is a long stretch from Hentingsbury Head to Poole. There is a path to walk or cycle at the beach with restaurants dotted around which are within keeping with the relaxed natural environment and not too commercial which is a very clever balance. There are pretty paths and parks to walk through from beach to shop/living areas. There is plenty to do daytime and evening. I particularly like that my hotel has a swipe key so I can return/vacate 24hrs (obviously being respectful of quiet times).
This is a great value hotel. CLEAN but in need of a bit of updating. Showers can be a bit hit and miss with upper floors suffering from poor pressure. Anyone complaining about the cost needs to look at other hotels and what they charge. Come during Bournemouth Air Festival and you'll pay £100++ anywhere because it's about supply and demand. Come out of season or midmeek and it's very very cheap and pretty good quality for the many. Definition of GOOD VALUE, not luxury.
Although the bathroom was infested with mould on the windowsill and around the tap and had a nasty mouldy characteristic smell. the shower was great and powerful and pleasant to use.
The hotel was within walking reach to a small beach, Boscombe, and to a few shops on the main road.
There is also a nice little and beautiful garden on the route to the beach.
There is bus stop within walking reach to get buses to Bournemouth coast and to Pool.
The Location is perfect for the beach and shopping centre
It was also closer to the venue my conference was being held at than I thought, great touch
It's not your high end hotel but certainly delivers what you pay for. I was actually put off by some of the reviews but it's a grand old building, staff are pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay there again and I will definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Bournemouth
The room was clean & tidy & well lit with natural light, it had opening windows to allow natural airflow. The accommodation was in a great location close to the main square & the beach.
The owner was very friendly, carried my luggage up the stairs & was very helpful with suggestions on what to do in the area. I would highly recommend the "Newark" when staying in "Bournemouth".
I liked the eco credentials especially the room fan and being offered a summer sheet, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, the plentiful water and nice biscuits in the room.
The location is ideal for me, near the buses and the beach
Food in the restaurant delicious and different and the best coffee at any hotel in Bournemouth for breakfast!
Located in the cleaner and leafier end of west Bournemouth hotel land, this small hotel is one of many in between the city centre (The Triangle) and the West Cliff. Basic, a bit dated but functional and comfortable. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful, letting me leave a suitcase for a few hours after I checked out. Good value.
It was an interesting place to stay with quite an unusual decor. The hotel was well maintained and all area spotlessly clean. The room was comfortable , but the shower room was a little cosy. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We could easily walk to restaurants and into Bournemouth town.
Lovely little hotel, clean, comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. The chocolates in the room were a nice touch. We were in Bournemouth on a hen weekend and the location of the hotel was perfect, just a short walk from the beach and nightlife. We enjoyed our stay. - Bekki
amazing room and cleaning and comfortable room with nice space of the room, the staff friendly and nice the hotel location is close with everything in Bournemouth beach and city center, if i come back again to Bournemouth for sure i will be stay in this hotel really amazin
Being back at the Royal Bath Hotel since the mid seventies when I was a trainee hotel manager.
To experience of a warm welcome at Reception and I have to say that Andreea, behind the desk was such a warm welcome to Bournemouth, she needs an award in Hospitality.
good location, they have a nice lounge with entertainment, its proper value for money, especially when you only need the room to sleep in. its the first time ive seen a clean kettle in a hotel. the bathroom floor could be improved but its overall a great stay
Applewood Hotel is close to Bournemouth town centre (10 minutes walk). The single room was small but had everything I needed including a little desk. Ensuite was compact but vlean and functional. Check in staff were efficient rather than friendly.
Clean,comfortable bkd 2 rooms . Excellent breakfast
used Swim pool, sauna, Steam room & showers.
Walk along side road straight across to steep steps down to beach or take left at top and walk down West Cliffe slope to Bournemouth Square/wheel.
Absolutely everything Debbie was a lovely host and so accommodating. Our room was just perfect. Spotlessly clean couldn't fault a thing. The best hotel we have stayed in all the times we have come to Bournemouth.
Really spacious room and comfy bed. Staff were helpful. Location was good but a car was needed to get into Bournemouth. It seems that all the hotels are situated outside the town centre.
The hotel is in a great location on the cliff road between Bournemouth and Boscombe pier. A short walk down to the beach via a zig zag path. The staff were very efficient and friendly.
Nice hotel but a bit worn. The room was a great size with a nice, clean bathroom. Breakfast was okay. Location is very convenient for Bournemouth city centre and staff were friendly.
