booked last minute, really surprised and pleased with the service and high standard. Will defiantly use and prioritise for next visit in this area. Thankyou
The owner is very friendly and welcoming. We loved the room, the facilities, the breakfast and, the quiet location. Our second visit to this charming old farmhouse and we shall be back. Lovely to see the farm animals too.
Friendly proprietors, lovely house with rooms full of character. Really enjoyed our stay!
The food, environment and the owner were great. Made my stay comfortable and restful
I enjoyed my stay at Birtles, Sharon and David are friendly and welcoming. I will be using the B&B again i would just like to add Thank you
Beautifully decorated room, warm cosy home, great breakfast and the care and friendliness of Sharon
Nothing to dislike
Excellent service and friendly welcoming host. fantastic breakfast well cooked
We were greeted on arrival by a lovely barnyard cat who supervised us unpacking the car. We were met by Sharon who is a wonderful host and shown to our tastefully decorated ensuite room with a large comfortable bed. Breakfast the next day was tasty, Sharon again so lovely and helpful, offering assistance with directions to our days destination. The breakfast room is lovely and light filled, looking out on the garden.
We had a little difficulty finding it after dark, but a quick phone call gave us some useful directions and we found our way easily.
Do not repeat our mistakes and better stay more than one night here (I hope we'll be able to do that sometime in the future). The hosts are really great and welcoming, the 300-year-old house is very comfortable and with all modern facilities you may need, and the surroundings are worth of walks and rides.
Location is fantastic, and the decoration of the place is lovely. The breakfast is also very nice. Great to have free WiFi.
twin room has tiny on suite, which if you are on the large side you would not be able to use this! Breakfast between 7 and 9; arrived at ,740 and in total darkness, had to wait 10 mins fir host to arrive and turn lights on etc. Only one table with 4 chairs for all guests to use, not good if you suffer with asbergers etc, think it should be stated in write up.
A wonderful hot breakfast cooked every morning Was picked up from railway station on arrival & driven back there on departure. Quality soft pillows & bedding. Fresh flowers in my room & lovely decor colours around 1701 c home.
No Wi Fi for the duration of my 6 day, stay. Farm stay is quiet a distance away from tourist attractions I recommend having your own transport. Otherwise its 25 mins walk to Ashley railway station if you are fit. Trains doesn't cover a very vast area of Cheshire. Only Mancester to Chester. Bus service is also limited to where they go. There was no bus service past farm.
This B&B is really lovely. I travel up north every three months and would not stay anywhere else now. It is really clean and cosy. The bed is massively comfortable and the breakfast is fantastic. It's lovely and quiet.
They were fully booked for the other two days of my stay and I had to stay elsewhere. Next time I will book well in advance so I can stay for 3 days.
Was easy to find, relaxed atmosphere, very friendly
Very convenient to Tratton Park and to Manchester Airport
The bed, pillows and bedding Breakfast room Lounge Breakfast Friendly Relaxing Value
The drive was very rough and long
I loved the building, an old farmhouse, hundreds of years old, just my type. I loved being in the country rather than in a busy urban area for my last night. The room was simply beautiful. I wish I had had time to stay for breakfast because I am sure it would have been excellent, but I was in a rush to catch an early plane. There are some lovely dogs there. The directions to the airport are very easy to follow. I will definitely try to stay at this b&b on my next trip to the Manchester airport.
I have to say the road up to the house is bumpy and rough, but it is after all an old farm, not a new hotel. This will not keep me from staying again. The directions TO the b&b that I think I got off the website were harder to follow than the directions to the airport. I think there is probably an easier way to get there than the directions I followed.
Everything was wonderful! A quiet 3 room B&B, lovely furnished, very nice reception by the host. Phantastic breakfast, wide variety, freshly cooked, fruit, cereals, nothing was missing. The room was lovely decorated, you can just feel relaxed the minute you arrive. When you arrive in the dark keep on driving, the house is located behind the stables and it doesn't really look like there would still come a B&B. It's quite a long way from the main street. As it is close to Manchester Airport you do hear the noises of aircrafts, but when you close the window in the morning, it will still be fine. Beautiful garden. And it is also nice to see all the animals as of course it is a farm. Thanks to the host, we absolutely loved every minute! Location is great: you can be at MAN Airport within 15 minutes, and beautiful villages such as Knutsford, Hale, Alderley Edge, etc. are within a short driving distance. Also wonderful food in the nearby pub The Greenhound in Ashley.
Sharon provided a taxi service from the nearest rail station Ashley, and to the airport the following morning. She also cooked a good evening meal. These two factors saved me extra planning. The quiet so near an airport was astonishing. I enjoyed being on a farm with dogs and horses and was able to have a pleasant evening stroll in fresh air and delightful surroundings. Sharon was friendly and helpful. I have already submitted a review so I hope that this one reaches the correct destination.
A lovely little hotel in the countryside. It is a working farm, and has that feel about it. The dogs are lovely too. The owner is really very warm and welcoming.
As it is a farm there is a long and bumpy track road to it. This certainly tests out your car suspension. I am not sure what can be done, as I suspect it will be very expensive to tarmac the road. The post code does not get you to the hotel - we ended up on a private estate first. If you look carefully, there is a sign for Birtles Farm.
A very warm and friendly welcome, beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable and a delicious breakfast.
The fact that we only could stay for one night!!
Lovely B&B based on a farm very close to Tatton Park. Decorated tastefully 'Laura Ashley' style which compliments the country setting. Hosts very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Delicious breakfast.
Minor criticism - woken very early by hundreds of swifts nesting in the barn next to the bedroom. But, it is the country!
I got airport transport both ways, the nicest room and the most comfortable bed. You also get proper wifi. Lovely place and Sharon is fantastic.
Airport noise, but not heard inside the house.
Duck Egg Blue Surroundings. Impeccable hosting and really accommodating when we arrived early! Bonus of sharing breakfast with a great couple too.
I would have loved some conditioner for my knotty hair - but that is just me being PICKY!
