We really enjoyed are stay and looking forward to are next visit very soon, staff all very friendly A++++
Easy to find; parking accommodations; Room was spacious with all amenities; Wonderful greeting and help with bags including a glass of wine reception; Great suggestions for dinner - Delrio's was the perfect choice! We appreciated the honor bar when we returned to just relax in our room with a glass of wine. Breakfast was very good .
Staff were very friendly. The room was lovely and clean. The breakfast was excellent.
The one and only thing that we were disappointed with was that there was no shower in the room we stayed in only mixer taps on the bath.
Friendly staff. Great freshly cooked breakfast (expect some waiting time). Homely and cosy atmosphere. Clean, spacious and quiet room (triple room on the top floor). The bed was very nice.
Wifi was rather slow and unstable. A bit pricey
The location is really well placed and near enough to walk anywhere. The rooms were nice and very clean and coffee, tea and refreshments were topped up every day. Staff were very helpful.
For the price we paid staying 3 days we expected to get breakfast included and it worked out very expensive adding breakfast onto our overall bill for the long weekend stay in York.
Room quality pretty good, cooked breakfast very nice although the buffet selection at breakfast is very basic.
Location from the centre is not ideal. Far too expensive for the facilities included
There wasn't anything we didn't like about this B&B. Great room and fantastic breakfast. Would certainly recommend this place to all.
It was a little bit too far out of York, only a 20 min walk but if you had been shopping all day, walked back to the B&B and then walked back into the city for a meal I just felt it was a bit too far. Could have got a taxi or bus tho.!!
Friendliness of staff Character of the building
Bed rock hard
Good location - ten minutes walk from the station. Clean rooms and friendly and welcoming staff
I thought that £12 for a bottle of wine, purchased from the lounge area and drunk in our room was a little steep
We had a lovely room which was decorated to a high standard and was spotlessly clean. We had everything you could possibly need in our room including and ironing board and iron! The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. I would stay here again if I came back to York it was the perfect location. Near enough to walk into the city but away from all the noise at night.
I have no negatives about the accommodation.
Travel with my parents, we love the room. It was really nice to stay there.
Breakfast excellent and hotel very convenient for city.
Our room was very different to what we expected - we thought that it was much bigger than what we found, we didn't know that we had only booked a standard room - the rates shown did not indicate that there was more than 1 charge. We have been in other hotels at the price we paid and got a much better room. If we were larger in size we could not have got into the shower as it was quite small.
Staff were very helpful, and Deborah was wonderful, she gave us a huge amount of information about the area and nothing was too much trouble. Room was lovely, very clean and comfortable, only reason not given full marks was because bathroom was a little small. It wasn't too much of a problem for us but maybe more so for larger people! Also quite a lot of traffic noise from the road when window was open (which we wanted because it was un-seasonally hot!) but this was not a problem at all when the window was shut - we could hear nothing. Breakfast was also great.
The only problem I had was with wifi which was very temperamental in the bedroom, but think this was due more to being at the top of the house - it worked perfectly when sitting in the communal area.
Lovely room. Good breakfast
Duvet cover on the heavy side for the time of year
Good location, very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and clean accommodation owners, obviously take pride in their business
Creaky floors, but hey, it is an old house so not unexpected.
very friendly and helpful staff, owners very helpful on getting around York and place to see
Couldnt fault it had a lovely 3night break there.Accomodation,ALL staff, facilities, food, all just perfectwe couldnt have asked for more.
Minor detail really but would have liked a little more variety on tea coffee making tray as my 14yr old daughter doesnt like either. Also just a little bit pricey for out of town accomodation especially as a single parent sharing with one child.
To many to mention, as from time of arrival to when we left everything was just great.
There was nothing we didn't like, all good.
Triple room on top floor very nice. Staff very welcoming and helpful.
Little bit too far walking from town centre.
It was a nice enough place. Comfortable bed and clean
But I expected more considering it was classed as 5*.. 1 biscuit in a triple room. No bottles of water provided..
Bishop's room was cramped and so not wonderful value for money. Otherwise top marks.
Spotlessly clean accommodation, spot on cooked breakfast served quickly with quality produce.
Breakfast was wonderful, loads of choice and of good quality. Staff on arrival very helpful and informative. Staff all round very good .
Our room 10 starting to look a bit worn, wallpaper starting to peel at joins. Bathroom floor looking very tired and shower unit edges starting to look shabby. Noisy extractor fan went on for a long time after being turned off.
Greeted with fantastic friendliness and help straight away (I wish I could remember her name to praise her properly!) - lots of questions and suggestions to help the stay be as good as possible. Room was clean, comfortable and a good size for the price. Cooked breakfast was excellent, and used a lot of local produce. Can't fault them at all - would definitely use again!
Tiny criticism - our room (9) had a shower attachment with the bath, rather than a full shower, but wasn't a big problem.
