All the staff made you feel extremely welcome and gave us lots of top tips and tourist advice whilst visiting York! The room was lovely, although would have preferred a stand up shower rather than a shower head over a bath. As for breakfast, it was absolutely delicious - great choice and great portions. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to everyone!

The overall feel of the place was great, very welcoming. The room i had was huge. The bed was enormous & very comfortable. The owners and staff were very helpful & knowledgeable about what to do in town, both tourist bits & where to eat. I'd certainly return. Lovely family run hotel.

The shower in room 6 was weak! However, that wouldn't stop me staying!

Very nice clean room. Although a twin still had all the extras in it with pleasant view of garden. Excellent breakfasts with local produce.

Breakfast finished at 9.30 which is a little early for weekend visit.

lovely couple who owned it, Marco and Deborah, pleasant staff, rooms spacious and clean,breakfast was very nice with lovely garden views

would of preferred a bath (only a shower) but still ok with this, was a little further than we thought to walk into town (not the best of weather in March) would of liked to sit with a drink at night to chat but no one was there, ( my husband had lots of football to talk about).

The welcome was warm, friendly and informative. Our room was beautiful, relaxing, spotless and had a lovely view of the gardens. Breakfast was great, and fresh milk was provided for you tea in the room Bishop House was a few minutes ride on the bus (every 10 minutes) or taxi from city centre, and a 20 minute walk, If visiting York, you would find it hard to find a better place than Bishop House

York carparking charges are very high

We were on the top floor so got the shower that didn't have any power and the water trickled out, would it bother us that much that we wouldn't return - no , the fact that it is such a clean , friendly and well positioned hotel negates the shower , plus I am sure the other rooms will have the power due to being lower down in the hotel

We had been to York to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. It was a last minute booking and we were very much worried about this B&B. But as a surprise, staying in Bishops made the trip better. Room was so clean and tidy. And the standard is as same as you get in a highly paid five star hotels (say Hilton). Well maintained. High quality bed and furniture. Friendly receptionist & staff. Free wifi. It doesn't ask you to register. Free car parking. Easy access to city. (10 mins walk or few mins drive) I would strongly recommend Bishops for my friends. I would rate 10/10 for Bishops.

The parking was good the room clean Snd comfortable and breakfast was very good

We arrived in heavy snow a bit dispirited and the hotel was further out of the city than expected - none of which was the fault of the hotel

The staff accommodation and location were all excellent, I was highly recommend this hotel .
