Absolutely worth every penny Excellent room Excellent staff Excellent services Good and hospitality excellent
We had to leave
Furnishings were lovely and very in keeping with the house. The swimming pool and spa were very good.
I didn't think the room facilities were up to the standard of a superior room. The bathroom was very very small and wasn't luxurious. The televison was also very small and we did not have a table in the room which proved very difficuly when we ordered room service!!
The helpfulness and friendliness of staff, the facilities, the surroundings, the sitting rooms/lounge areas, the spa facilities and outside pool, the delicious food.... I liked everything.
At last a hotel that charges over £100 a night and is actually worth it! Everything during my two night stay was excellent.
Had a really great time. service was good, food was good the whole atmosphere was brilliant would recommend to any one and everyone ! The only down side is are shower was very weak maybe a power shower would be good other than that it's probably the best place I've stayed !
Greeted and shown around when we arrived, The room was spacious and elegantly decorated, Spa facilities were just what i wanted, bed was amazingly comfortable, Breakfast was delicious and staff very friendly
Wifi could have had better signal strength
Hotel facilities, spa, pool, gym
Bit remote, very few places nearby to visit or activities to do
Bishopstrow Hotel is a very quaint hotel with lovely characteristics and period charm. The grounds are well maintained and very charming making your stay peaceful and relaxing. The conservatory restaurant is very nice and the food good.
Parts of the hotel in the main house need updating and/or restoring. My first room was one the top floor and very small. I then moved to the last room available. The bedroom had an imbalanced eclectic feel, very old fashioned, but yet coupled with a modern en-suite bathroom. The bed was not that comfortable as it had lost support. Value for money was poor as rooms in the main house do not reflect what is portrayed on the website.
Breakfast was quite good, just the right portion size on the cooked breakfast. Staff were friendly and took comments about our stay to give to maintenance staff.
The shower in room 28 is in a sloped corner, which means that anyone over 5 foot tall can't actually fit under the drench shower head. Also, the pressure cut out during the shower and myself and my husband were left for a few minutes with no running water.
Great staff Beautiful building Excellent food
Over priced for room Had the superior rooms as a little dated compared to images on website Shower pressure not brilliant at all! Large bed but was two single put together which isn't great the the price we paid for the room
Room, swimming pool, lounges,
Excellent hotel, lovely friendly staff. The food was amazing.
The room was quite hot in the night making for an uncomfortable sleep.
The room was nice and bed was great
Restaurant food quality is dreadful. Have been served a stinking fish (not eatable at all). They didn't charge for it but the experience was not great to say the least. Kids are ony allowed to the pool from 8-10am and 3-8pm that we found really strange.
Loved the room, great space
The light switches in the room didn't work, possibly made a little simpler
The building The breakfast Pt he staff
Attic room (But it was the last room available)
Kindness of restaurant and bar's staffs
Boiler disfunctionned in the evening and no repair even the next morning (cold showers). No apologize from the reception staff or management. Reception staff was just fair during the entire stay.
Location is superb for a relaxing escape. Attentive staff. Surroundings (outdoor pool, riverwalk) in perfect condition. Strong wi-fi signal everywhere! Tranquil spa! Excellent breakfast.
1) Water pressure in peak hours was so low that was almost a drip. In fairness the manager attended immediately and did all he could (with some improvement only). The offered a discount as compensation. 2) Food for dinner was superb in appearance but lacked taste! Pricey!
Outdoor heated pool Comfortable bed Waitrose in Warminster instead of dining in
Blue toothpaste on fresh white hand towel which Duty Manager could only explain came from an external laundry service.....! Tiny window overlooked entrance to spa and required gymnastics to close blind to get privacy. Decorative pillows that get placed on fresh linen after being placed on floor by turning down service
Living in london the price was similar to a central London nice hotel but in a beautiful setting. We were put up in an amazing room, there was a high end bathroom (on the small side, but it didnt bother me) a gorgeous large and cozy bedroom and a roomy front room to watch tv and read in. Our front door stepped out onto a tiled private patio with an outdoor table in which we had our breakfast on, looking out onto a stunning field and forest, i could not have hoped for a better short vacation! The spa treatments were relaxing, which was lovely but I was hoping for a firmer touch since my shoulders are stiff as a board usually, however the firm large king size bed sorted them out once the spa lady did her job on day 1 of our stay. My partner enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool and steam room. The staff were helpful and very nice, nothing was too much trouble for them! We dined at the hotel and the food was delicious, I'm still dreaming about the succulent chicken breast and sweetcorn puree! Even thought it was high season the hotel never felt crowded, a perfect get a away!
Lovely house and gardens; Good Tennis; Pools (when operational);
Room had no running hot/cold water (rooms nearest the water tank win); Walls thin so you get to know the neighbours a bit too much.
All staff very helpful, friendly, and they went the extra mile to make our stay a good one.
We had two 13 year olds with us. They loved the whole stay except the menu. It is a good menu for young children and adults but not for young teens.
Comfortable spacious room, very nicely decorated. Very nice they have both indoor and outdoor pools and spa facilites. Excellent food and still served us despite it being almost 1hr after kitchen/dinner closed. Nice combination of the old house, library/lounge, refreshed with new facilities and conveniences, terrace, dining room, glass box room etc. Staff plentiful and attentive.
Bed was a little too soft for us. Almost felt like a super thick memory foam mattress half a meter deep! View from our room over (clean) rooftops not wonderful but not really unpleasant or particularly an issue.
The room was lovely and spacious
Bar prices too high!
Location and gardens.Character decent. Staff pleasant and engaged.
No air con.Rooms very hot and stuffy .Basement type tiny window overlooking noisy entrance to spa.Walls shook every time outside door opened and closed. Rooms smelt of cooking fumes from kitchen extractor fans, which were very noisy . Very expensive .
Lovely hotel to stay at, clean, comfy and helpful staff. The food was amazing.
