On the banks of Loch Lomond in the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Forest, this hotel has spectacular views of Ben Lomond, the loch and mountains to the north. Rowardennan Hotel is accessible, yet remote....

very welcoming ,friendly staff
Stayed in the Killearn as I'd travelled up from Manchester with my fiance for a wedding on Saturday 24 May and decided to make a bank holiday weekend of it. The location was good as far as the wedding location was concerned and we had a comfortable stay.
Having visited relatives on Sunday 25 May we returned to the hotel around 08:30pm. We went into the bar for a drink and asked for a menu, only to be told that the restaurant was closed. We asked the barman if we could then have some sandwiches. His response was no!!! Last orders in the bar were called at 09:30pm. I'm extremely angry, bearing in mind that our stay was on a bank holiday weekend and the service was atrocious. Won't be returning and certainly wouldn't recommend.
Our room was unsuitable however I was refunded the next day. Very quickly resolved .
We went as it was a wee present for my wife as it where we spent our honeymoon ....we like it because it is isolsted
We were a bit disappointed and spent the majority of our time in a very small room. The room was comfortable but in need of redecoration. The meal was very poor and choice very limited. It was a last minute thing but now wish I had booked elsewhere as it was really poor
Very friendly We enjoyed our night there
The service from staff. The food The location
Really nice staff spent New Year's Eve there which was relaxing and food was very good. Woke up in the morning and took a walk in the village which was also pleasant. Great base to say other areas such as Loch Lomond East side.
Food was excellent
The bed was very soft and noisy.
Scottish breakfast good, plenty of hot water, and rooms nice and warm.Staff friendly and helpful. Stayed before and will be back next year.
Parking at rear rough and dark, not a lot of front spaces,
The rooms are clean and comfortable with nice bed linen,
It has been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day – Not at the Black Bull on Sunday 27th October. We arrived down for breakfast at 0930, the server asked if we would like tea or coffee (good start) she returned to pour two cups of tea from what looked like a stainless thermal “coffee pot” she failed to explain that there was cereal and fruit juice available at the other end of the room. As we had stayed before I went to investigate and found very empty fruit juice jugs only enough for one and half glasses of orange, apple juice was just as low. Cereal choice was only bran flakes or corn flakes nothing else. The server returned to the table to take our order, we both opted for the full breakfast, we were never offered toast or choice of egg. The tea was disgusting, and guess what? You’re right it tasted of coffee, we asked for refills which were brought in fresh cups and didn’t taste of coffee. I have never had breakfast in a hotel where they didn’t bring a fresh pot of tea which is sometimes accompanied with pot of hot water so you are able to consume as much or as little as you like. When our breakfasts arrived they looked good I requested toast at this point and was told yes sir no problem I had finished my breakfast drained my tea cup drank my fruit juice and would have loved a bit of toast and jam washed down with an other cup of tea, no sign of server. I am more than able to make toast but there was no self serve toaster in the restaurant. After a long period of waiting we left the restaurant toastless and dissatisfied only to find the server sitting in reception staring at a computer I mentioned I hadn’t received my toast I received a polite sorry long pause but no offer to rectify. I am not criticising the food which came out the kitchen it was good quality cooked well and tasty (bacon a bit crispy but that’s just me) the quantity was also acceptable, it was the experience which has let you down that's why I have rated you poor.
Accomodation was good value; food in the restaurant was good, and good value for money. Cooked breakfast is now available. Nice village.
The hotel was understaffed, which led to a bit of initial rudeness from staff to us as customers. The attitude of staff improved after the initial incident.
Great friendly family run hotel. Excellent friendly service. Food was also very good
The location was lovely and the staff were very friendly, allowing us to check in early as we were going to a wedding and pre-booking a taxi to take us there. As we were at a wedding nearby we didn't use the restaurant, but it looked nice so next time we're in the area we'll go back and try it out.
On Sunday morning there was only 1 member of staff (again, friendly girl) serving breakfast and covering reception. We weren't asked how we wanted our eggs for breakfast though, and I assume this is the reason we didn't get any! We left our key on the reception desk as there was no one else around to check us out - minor points though.
Little hotel is great. It's nice to stay in an independant hotel with an owner who clearly cares about the guest experience. Me and my daughter really enjoyed our stay. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Rooms have everything you need in a quiet quaint little village setting.
I would say it is more like a country inn than a hotel. I was chatting with the owner Kerrie and she agrees their service is more of an 'Inn' style. This is not a negitive point- just something to note. Loved it.
Nice hotel with very friendly host. Good restaurant. Breakfast was good as well. Room was comfortable and spacious. Good atmosphere.
It was a friendly and courteous service
No negatives to record.
Very friendly staff - good food - very comfortable and clean rooms - staff very accommodating
bit disappointed with the evening diner - chose to eat out locally on two nights but this would not stop me from staying there again
It was convenient to a family celebration.
A huge shortage of staff. I live in A part of England (East Anglia) where hotels of this price range offer you a much higher standard of room, food and sevice.
