We were made very welcome. We brought a toddler with us and when we got there we were offered a bigger room to the one we originally booked. Dot was very friendly and offered my son toys she had and was very friendly to him too. they were very generous with breakfast and was very accommodating to provide some food for my son. Location wise it's ok, within driving distance to places we want to go.

The wifi did not work in our room. It's just gone out of the range slightly as we could get signal by going out from our room to the edge of the stairs. Toilet roll is a bit on the cheap side, so my husband actually bought our own toilet roll. However their hospitality far outweighs these inconvenience.

Freindly relaxed stay with a good walk along the beach and good steaks at the pub across the road. Quite and comfortable.

Work in Ulverston so just a bit far to travel. WiFi on and off.

Black Combe House is in a tiny village, near a small town. The village pub is a "one block" walk away, with very good food and good local and imported beer. The House is quiet, well appointed and the breakfasts were large, varied and very good. We had room one, and could watch the horse in the adjacent pasture. Multiple tourist things to do an hour or so drive away. The near-by small town (Milom) has a very good Indian restaurant; the adjacent Italian one was ok, but didn't compare in our opinion. As Yanks we had heard the stories about English food; we had nothing but good to great food our whole trip!

There was nothing we didn't like.

A lovely older couple made us welcome on arrival. Coffee and biscuits in their lounge. My lady wife expects Premier Inn cleanliness. This matched that especially in terms of bedding. We were sent off with one of the best breakfasts I have had - dry cured bacon so no salt and the sausages have to be experienced to be believed. Pub twenty meters away has very very good steak! An exceptional rural guest house.

The room is very tidy and nice, the bed is soft, the bathroom is clean, the breakfast is good, it makes you feel so homy. The owner were so nice to point out direction and when we left the hotel the gentleman even give our orange juice, they were just so nice. Definetely come around next time when in the lake district.

Nothing to complain really, the location is a little far but it is nothing to do with the B&B. Internet speed connection is a little bit slow compare to the big city, but again nothing to complain as you are in the lake district area i guess internet is not the most important thing.

Dot and Ed (the owners) were absolutley lovely! Got a lovely welcoming off Dot and thought the hotel was in a great location for what we wanted (peace and quiet). The room was a lovely suprise actually, we had a gorgeous big double bed with huge wooden head board, enough room to walk around the room. We had a stunning view too. The location was amazing for what we were looking for, very peaceful and quiet, and only a 5 min drive to the town. In the morning we had a lovely breakfast served by Ed. We thought it was great value for money and we would definitely recommend it and stay again ourselves.

Classic British B&B with attentive hosts, bright and warm room, comfy bed, fantastic breakfast. Great pub 2 minutes walk away that does cracking steaks. Great for exploring this less touristy side of the Lakes.
