Great location, friendly staff - we had a fantastic and very relaxing time.
Breakfast didn't start until 9am on at the weekend which made it hard to get an early start. The food in the pub could be better, but plenty of other options are only meters away
FOOD GOOD AND ROOMS VERY CLEAN. STAFF AND SERVICE VERY GOOD
THE BED WAS NOT VERY COMFORTABLE. PARKING IN THE TOWN IS NOT EASY
location, food, very friendly staff
Good place if you like a pub and restaurant on an evening, in good location in Grassington. We ate in restaurant and had a good meal. Saturday evening Karaoke night, had fun, first time ever, but we enjoyed it.
Nothing, everything was good for us. May not be a place for children?
what is not to like about this hotel. All the staff were most helpful. The food is out of this world, I recommend the steak in ale pie, the best I have ever had. It says something good for this place, when a landlord from another pub comes in for a pint
This is not a complaint, more an observation. Room 7 requires a grab rail in the shower. I found it difficult to get in and out. I pointed it out to the landlord,I am sure he will attend to it.
Food was to die for
staff were fantastic, food very good, had dinner each evening prices reasonable
room small, very little drawer space, bathroom needs a hook for clothes when taking a shower, nowhere to put toiletries.
location was good
noise at night after pub closed, dark rooms with poor lighting, rubbish breakfast (think £2.99 greasy spoon standard) I've stayed in better places at a third of the price
A very enjoyable stay at an attractive quirky old hotel in Grassington market place. Staff invariably pleasant and upbeat who coped admirably with my daughter's complicated dietary and heating requirements.
Lovely quaint little village Good pub grub Friendly people
The staff were friendly, food was good and hot! Central village location, comfortable stay.
Although the bedroom was clean, I could smell a wet dog odour. Not being a dog person this was slightly unpleasant, but unavoidable in a pet friendly establishment.
A great place to stay in, good food and staff excellent. Would recommend it to anyone.
Needs new lampshade on bedside light in room 5.
position of hotel
Excellent breakfast .
Friendly, effective staff. Good location.
Limited breakfast; basic not-too-healthy cereal and fruit juice only option before cooked breakfast. Fresh fruit and fat-free yoghurt would have been welcome additions.
Breakfast good. Gentle Jazz night was absolutely brilliant.
Service at breakfast time seemed untrained eg coffee regularly running out.
the poor service
The breakfast was very good
The room was small and cramped
Friendly, helpful staff. Cozy accommodation and perfect setting in Grassington. Very good English breakfast.
Nearly useless wifi. While the food is great at breakfast, we could not say the same for dinner.
Our only problem was our 'king size' room in that it was cramped with a cot in
Warm welcome, very helpful staff. Good breakfast, excellent food in restaurant.
My only complaint was the extremely cheap toilet seat which was unstable and uncomfortable.
The look and location and very homely atmosphere
Loved the location and the most friendly & REALLY helpful staff, Matt & Ellie especially + of course the owner John , who always seems to be on hand. I had a lovely evening meal and 2 very tasty perfect, poached egg breakfasts. Slept really peacefully and a spider will wake me up! Loved the fact that you had a "desk" for writing postcards etc, AND that you had a relaxing chair.
Little bit worried that there isn't an alarm clock for weary travellers. I know better and bring my own but, if I had not have had one, I would have been showing up for breakfast at 9:30am because your sleep is so undisturbed. Tissues?
The music from the restaurant can be heared easilly in some rooms (we requested a more silent room, it was OK) The cleanliness of the rooms was approximate (crisps on the floor, toiletts were not very clean neither) The bed was not very conHfortable The breakfast is between 8H30 and 9H. We came down at 8H40. Everything was closed, nobody to welcome us (lights off,...). Finally, somebody from the kitchen opened to us. The breafast was very poor and a relatively dark place. We do not recommand this hotel, it is really overpriced (the most expensive of our trip, and the worst one in quality)
The Hotel was central (Grassington is relatively a small villlage). The bedroom was reasonably comfortable and clean (however see my comments about the bathroom). Storage was made available for our bicycles.
There are no parking facilities at the Hotel. At busy times of the week the limited public parking in the centre of the village is heavily used. Unluckily we had to ferry our bags and bicycles on foot from the National Park Centre 600 yards away. The bathroom shower surround had ingrained and long establish stains around the base. We reported this to the manager on checking out. The tea and coffee facilities at breakfast were lacklustre and poor quality and the presentation gave you the feeling they had been provided as an afterthought. Finally at £185.00 (2 nights at £92.50) our double room was decidedly overpriced. Sadly we cannot recommend this Hotel and will not be going back.
