Everything from the moment I booked in to the staff and hotel comfort. Although this is no five star hotel but a old coaching inn with a stable block conversion it is a super place to stay with very good food and very good beer in the pub If I had one nit pick no breakfast although it states a continental breakfast it is a crisppy bar a bottle of apple dring a porage oats pot to be filled with hot water and that is it plust the fact the place is so nice to be in a secluded village away from cambridge and nothing near bye to get breakfast a bit of a disapointment but would not stop me from staying again and recommending it Thanks

The staff were friendly and helpful, The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was quiet but with easy access to cambridge. The breakfast though nicely presented in a basket in the room was disappointing! Fruit and fruit juice that would have been better chilled and a pot of porridge to be made with boiled water!

Great value, excellent food (try the Black Rock steaks - steaks served on a volcanic rock, so it cooks while in front of you) breakfast was a continental type breakfast - juice, porridge and fruit + flapjack type thing. and it was really good, not what i expected when i saw it pub is good with some cask ales, good wines, separate dining area. oh - and the shower was brilliant - just great It would be good to have a desk to work at, with a laptop but I messed around with the bedside table to make it suitable - but couldn't work like this for a long period of time

Room was very comfortable and cosy with an excellent and spacious bathroom with bath tub and good power shower over. Evening meal in the pub was very tasty. They had a problem with the water tank valve in the roof space above our room not shutting off properly. We had the noise of water gushing and hissing all night so got very little sleep. Once that is sorted it would be a quiet and comfortable place to sleep.

Very clean, quiet and warm room. The pub was a bit "local" but it was the only place to eat in the village. The food was fair to good but expensive for a pub more like restaurant prices. I don't think we would stay there again,

It was easy to book, incredible value, friendly and helpful staff, the meal we had in the bar in the evening was brilliant, freshly cooked food and lovely lemon merangue pie!!! Bar staff particulary kind and professional. Our room was warm and comfy - good tv, great shower, complimentary soap but take your own shampoo etc - incredible value.

Can't recommend highly enough. Accomodation Is in little chalets which were very quiet and emaculate. So close to Cambridge and very well priced. Stay here and you won't be disappointed. A Gem! Simple question to answer. Nothing!!!

Room was clean and comfortable, the price was, in my opinion, excellent and therefore some of the negatives can be forgiven. Disapointed that there was no food service on a Sunday night, nowhere else to eat in village, either drive 10 miles to Cambridge, or next village had decent sit in Indian, have to go to Cambridge if you don't like Indian cuisine! Accomodation borders car park for pub so I guess could be pretty noisy some nights, ok Sundays as bar closes at 10pm. Would have been nice had there been some shower gel etc in room, just one tiny bar of soap.

I have been coming here for years, it is so friendly. The food, beer and company are excellent. The staff go out of their way to help. Whenever in the area I always stay here. The Black Rock food is excellent, really enjoyed the springbok Some form of computer desk would be useful in the room
