It was a great pub, easy to find and with off road parking. Staff were very helpful.

It was a little noisy until closing time and the Wi-Fi was difficult. Neither item detracted from our enjoyable stay.

From the friendly welcome to our rather reluctant departure we were treated as friends. The staff were always on hand and nothing was too much trouble for them, making our stay one to remember. Our room was excellent and being detached from the main pub area was always quiet and peaceful. The food was excellent and the bar areas cosy and welcoming.

We can't think of anything that we would want to change. That is rare.

The friendliness of the staff. Even the local customers in the bar made us feel welcome and at a home-from-home. The service was excellent and friendly, nothing too much trouble.. The whole place was spotlessly clean. Fresh locally-sourced food served well-cooked and piping hot. The best hotel I've ever stayed in.

Nothing. I can honestly say that I could not fault anything. In my job I travelled all over the world and stayed in hotels ranging from slums to 5* and there was always something to fault - not at the blacksmiths.

We loved the night spent with locals!!!!we had a fantastic walk near the fields behind the hotel. Breakfast and dinner lovely. Staff were all helpful and gave us lots of info about the village. Great memories for us of our night in Cloughton. Cheers Julie and Steve from Locksley Australia

Staff attitude was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent.

Beds were old and worn, had failed springs and worn and dirty boxes. In the en-suite, the tiled floor was cracked and there was black mould around the bath - this was in room 8.

Atmosphere. Friendliness of staff. Food. Peace and quiet! Nice place to relax.

Room was a bit dated. Could do with modernisation, including plumbing fittings and particularly the shower unit. But it all worked OK! Exit into road from car park was a bit challenging, sight lines being not great.

Due to mobility issues we asked for a room with as few stairs as possible, our needs were catered for with a very nice room within a ground floor block with beautiful views. The rooms was furnished to a very high standard. We could not have asked for more and on top of that the food was excellent.

    The location

After seeing the bedroom, it was not worth the money. Old out dated furniture, tiny TV, lumpy mattress, expected a lot more for nearly £100 a night. I have paid £60 a night in Scarborough and Whitby and got much better value and facilities. Will not be going back again.

The staff. Have stayed in a lot of places where staff were pleasant & helpful but in a machine-like, we've-been-trained-like-this way. Staff here are real & human but also really friendly & helpful - made a GREAT atmosphere!

    Totally happy with everything.

As we had a senior citizen with us who had regiment meal times, the Blacksmiths Arms were most accommodating. The staff very friendly and helpful,

The only complaint was that the weather could have been kinder. I don't think the Blacksmiths Arms could help on that one.
