warm and friendly welcome, our room was upgraded free of charge and the food was very good
The atmosphere the friendly staff ,good food nice room
We have nothing to complain about
In December the landlord never took into account it sometimes gets cold late afternoon and before breakfast it was very cold after stepping out of the shower. Please adjust your thermostats
Such a friendly place. I would (and have) recommend it to everyone!
No coat hooks to hang wet or damp coats Room 7 is over the kitchen and some kind of generator gives off a continual low hum.
Friendliness of staff. Very good freshly prepared food. Roaring fire in the lounge Nice rooms
Cosy Bar. Helpful, friendly, efficient staff. Lovely location. Great food.
Friendliness and hospitality of the staff and quality of the food
The bed was so uncomfortable although greatly improved on the second night when we put a spare duvet directly over the mattress
Service was terrific, friendly and cheerful.
Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, excellent food and a spacious bedroom.
The location was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough for you. Food excellent , good choice and plenty of it. I would recommend it for all aged couples .
No wi fi , or if there was we wasn't told.
Staff very friendly, breakfast excellent. Room clean.
Maybe our own fault for booking in a pub, but didnt realise our room would be right above the bar meaning no sleep till well after midnight and banging music through the walls whilst trying to watch tv. The shower wasnt usable, either boiling hot or freezing cold, so had to wash in the sink. Unable to connect to WIFI for the whole time we were there.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are generous and the beds are comfortable.
Room 3 is over the bar and a bit noisy (we were moved to an outside room without question) Wifi really only works in the back bar
Incredible noise practically 24hrs from plumbing. Having to ask for central heating to be switched on. Lethal broken heater. A chair for a bedside table, no bedside light. Black mould in shower. Locals straight from central casting
We liked everything ! Room was nice and warm ! Breakfast was really good !
we did not like where the TV was situated in room 4, as it could only be seen from one of the single beds !
Superb staff always willing to assist. Excellent food in restaurant/bar.
Wifi a bit iffy in places due to thick walls in this very old but modernised building but not easy to overcome
The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was full for that evening but the receptionist recommended a lovely pub nearby where we had an excellent meal.
The room was tired and dated. Although immaculately clean the shower was a pathetic dribble which ran scalding hot then freezing cold.
Lovely breakfast, great staff, handy for nipping into Scarborough
Genuine, warm. friendly welcome. Scrupulously clean public areas. Comfortable room. Food excellent and the locals in the bar made for a real ambient country atmosphere. We shall return.
Nice quaint pub, food excellent as was the service
Cute room, lovely staff and meals excellent
Bed a little hard
Quiet Location but only a 15 minute drive to Scarborough.. One downside is that local amenities are virtually non existent with a post office being the only shop in the village. The nearest (small) supermarket is probably 3 miles away.definitely need a car here... Accommodation is good if not outstanding and at 85 quid per night per room is fairly priced.. Staff very friendly and welcoming.. We did have a slight mix up when on paying the bill I was presented with a bill for 4 nights accommodation when in fact I'd already paid it a month previous when I booked with booking.com... I was lucky enough to find my email confirmation as proof.. All in all I would go back.. It's a great base to tour the North Yorkshire moors and the positives definitely outweighed the negatives
Clean, spacious rooms. Good size bathroom. Bar and dinning areas great. Food brilliant.
Booked on-line two twin rooms from the drop down menu but allocated two doubles. Staff great in providing two single beds in the rooms as quickly as possible.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food and good value for money. We were made to feel most welcome throughout our stay. Will definately stay there again.
good staff and location good brakfest
expensive food poor menu
