A friendly lady owner, great room, good breakfast. I ll return again when staying in York.
Food was outstanding lovely greeting felt comfortable very quiet and friendly will return again .
Twin beds in a double room wanted a double bed
Welcome Breakfast Bedroom was very comfortable
Shower was hard to work Taps were loose Over priced
The water flow in the bathroom is too slow.
Welcome on arrival - couldn't get into the grounds and had to improvise via the caravan site
We received a very warm welcome from the owner, Valerie. The place is immaculately clean, warm and with little extras (pink lemonade, chocolates) that made it a lovely stay. It is very quiet and the breakfast is fantastic. Comfy white robes and lovely gardens. So relaxing.
The bathroom was next to the room - not en-suite (but that is a very minor problem).
It was convenient for visiting our friends locally. It had a good tv.
I was expecting a hotel, but it was actually a B&B. So we couldn't arrive early and relax as there was no one there. There was nowhere to get a drink or anything to eat. There were no newspapers. The entrance was very spooky. the breakfast had been in the oven too long, no runny eggs :(
The homely welcome was very much appreciated and is sadly becoming a rarity nowadays, so this stood out.
Having to leave.
Had a really fantastic stay all in. Perfect for that romantic night away. Will certianly be back again.
Nice welcome, clean comfortable room, good breakfast.
Very friendly staff; beautiful building and tasteful decor; huge breakfast and catered for particular dietary need (coeliac) brilliantly
Very un inviting entrance, gate & grounds very dark at night, quite spooky. The gardens & the whole place feel neglected, rather like a retirement home.
I loved the old charm, clean, quiet, food excellent, service excellent. I had a very relaxing stay, slept well. Everything you needed.
When we first arrived even though it was warm outside when we entered the hallway of blackwood it was very cold almost damp feeling. This is my only dislike. Which could be resolved with heating on for an hour before guests arrive or a fire being lit in the entrance hall!
Your website said there was only 1 room remaining, there were only 1 other couple booked in! (False advertising?) The spa bath would've been good, but there wasn't enough hot water to fill it, the pubs aren't close enough to walk to and eat. Really overpriced and disappointed.
