MacKays is a high-quality, 4-star guest house, which is exclusively for adults. The award-winning property stands out on Oban's beautiful seafront, with uninterrupted views of the busy harbour.
Score from 407 reviews Superb
Amazing view as the room overlooked the bay. Owner was friendly and pointed me in the right direction for late night food.
good view out across bay,
up a bit of a hill, parking a bit tight
The view from the upstairs room was stunning - a great welcome for our first night in Scotland! The bedroom was decorated perfectly, very cosy and elegant. Great location. Loved it.
The WiFi signal was pretty bad - perhaps it was our room but it was not good. But then again, sometimes less communication is not a bad thing!
guest lounge, friendly host good breakfast
bit of a climb back from town for mature travellers, slow wifi
I liked the fact that we where close to alll aamenities, train station, ferry, shops restaurants pubs.
The only thing that I would say is there is a very steep hill up to the guests house however it only cost £3 in a cab which we didn't mind .
Everything about the Blair villa, the decor, the breakfast, the location, the views, was excellent, and we would definitely return
The host was very helpful and pleasant. The tasting of haggis was interesting
The wifi is weak and slow. The breakfast was a bit dry and cold.
Friendly helpful owner. Short walk to restarats and pubs. Was perfect for our oban stay
Owner uninformative, not welcoming Toast burnt
The views were stunning the bed was very comfortable breakfasts lovely, owners were friendly and very helpfully couldn't ask for more, booked again for next year
Nothing really to dislike at all
nice location friendly stuff nice breakfast
bathroom could be a bit cleaner room could be a bit cheaper
I loved every bit of it. Alex was a great host, the room was spotless, bed was great and I had a sound nights sleep. The breakfast was very enjoyable. Credit where it's due and I applaud good service. Well done Blair Villa.
I didn't like having to move on, wished I could stay a bit longer.
Blair Villa in Oban is a very cosy place to stay: a friendly landlord, a historical building with a lot of charm, a nice and quiet room, a tasty and rich breakfast
Location was good for us, and plenty of parking space.
Severe shortage of staff, and the three that we did see gave the impression that they didn't really want to be there and, as a result, were not helpful or at all welcoming.
The view from the lounge...you could see the port and beyond! The location was a short walk down the hill to the port and the shops. One word of caution...if you have heavy luggage be prepared to carry it up a flight of steep stairs. We transferred our necessary items to a smaller bag because we had a rental car. If we were to return to Oban, we would definitely stay at Blair Villa. The owners are great!
Blair Village was wonderful. Only thing I didn't like was we didn't book to stay longer than two nights and had committed ourselves to train tickets to London.
A great view from the room - but this means it's up the hill, so maybe not suitable for those who are unfit.
Location, Oban is lovely the B&B is central within walking distance from the town. Some very thoughtful touches, socket for multi country plugs, us, Spain, Europe.
The room was very small and the bed a bit uncomfortable.
Nice relaxed atmosphere, very friendly owner
Car parking a bit difficult
Appreciated stylish first floor lounge
Very small room for the money, poor hanging space for clothes. Limited breakfast choices - eggs only fried, no mushrooms, beans or potatoes and cheapest quality sausages.
nice location to visit
Not far from the town centre, recommend the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Ideal for short break.
Up a steep hill, so you need to be physically able, parking on a first come basis, can be busy during the day, evening not a problem.
comfortable bed clean room
breakfast no parking
It was Brilliant
