We were made to feel most welcome by the proprietors. The room was clean and comfortable and we spent a pleasant evening in the bar, where everyone was most friendly. Although the restaurant is not open in the evening, you can bring a take away into the bar to eat, we were even given cutlery and condiments to use. The location is very handy for the ferry port and we would stay here again in the future.

Our room was beautiful, quiet and clean. The owners were friendly and nice and there was an amazing italian restaurant just next to the Bed & Breakfast. The location was very good, easy way to the castle and white cliffs, lots of shops nearby. I would recommend Blakes of Dover to everyone.

Near to cross channel ferry. Clean and good value for money. Big hearty breakfast. Lack of off road parking. Plenty of road sides metered parking for a maximum of two hours at £1.20 per hour. Free between 6pm and 9am. However breakfast does not start until 9am.

Extremely clean room with good quality sheets, comfy bed. Bedroom ample in size, hospitality tray. Ability to buy drink if required. Parking outside (possibly because of time of year) Both guests found owner to be curt, definitely not welcoming but helpful nontheless.

A beautiful accomodation for families/friends, everything is wonderfully clean and tidy, the staff is so kind. We loved the water boiler with tea bags and coffees pre-prepared in the room. Right next to the hotel there is a wine cave possibly owned by the same person, it is also just perfect, cheap but quality drink and game possibilities including such as cards and domino etc. a must stay at!

Chose using the CAMRA good beer guide and wasn't disappointed - in fact I probably overdid it in the lovely cellar bar. Top notch English breakfast too. Very convenient overnight stop for those getting the ferry. Lovely big, comfy room for the family with proper single beds (not camp beds) for the kids.

We stayed at Blakes while en route to France. The owners are a lovely couple and were very helpful, the room was great and the bar downstairs was brilliant, this combined with the very reasonable price was great!! Next time we pass through Dover we'll definitely stay here again! We left at 9am and breakfast didn't start till 9, so it would've been nice to sample their breakfast.

The room was clean and tidy, with an extremely comfortable bed. Orange juice, bottled water and biscuits were provided, which was a nice touch. Good value location for an overnight pre/post ferry stop. Did not appreciate the owner saying 'you're early, I'm not ready for you yet' after we'd driven for five hours in freezing weather to get there. But room was fine.

The couple hosting at Blakes of Dover were very hospitable and made our stay very relaxed. The bedroom we stayed in was very comfortable, the bed was ultra comfort, the best nights sleep in a strange bed for many years. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, horlicks, orange juice and water - no hotel we have ever stayed in has had so much choice. The cellar bar was an added bonus, the hosts were very friendly and made us, as outsiders, feel very welcome. The choice of a place to stay was excellent and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Dover.
