Comprised of Georgian town houses dating back to 1799, this charming, individual hotel in Ramsgate's historic garden crescent has amazing harbour and sea views. Two of the houses are adjoining.
Score from 390 reviews Very good
We had a wonderful stay here last weekend, what can I say it was fantastic. Our room had a beautiful sea view and was very tastefully furnished and comfortable. Jake and everyone at Bleak House, were amazing, they just make you feel so welcome, and nothing is too much trouble. The food was brilliant, even catering for a vegan. I would recommend this lovely place to everyone. Thank you all for making it such a special Birthday. Can't wait to visit again.
There is nothing not to like.
The shower was broken and leaked unto the floor.
Wonderful cliff top position Good breakfast Lovely garden If you like Victoiana you will love this hotel
£130 for a small room with no bath was very poor value for money Nice to have a small fridge in the room, but it was so noisy we had to unplug it in order to get any sleep. Parking very limited. Main door locked most of the time which meant guests had to walk through the kitchen area.
the lovely tough like china cups & saucers in room , plus the biscuits.
we could seem to get the wi fi to work. Also we had a sea view room but the view was not that good.
huge comfortable bed amazing breakfast staff made us feel like friends
shower was a bit temperamental too many cushions on the bed - that is an issue for me only - I know other people love them
The museum was great. Excellent staff. Very good breakfast. Lots of Character
Wi-Fi a bit weak
Not value for money Poor Internet connection at back of hotel
parking problems no airconditioning poor ventilation poor building maintence
History of the House Sunday Roast
location and views
Fantastic Victorian property steeped in history with a commanding view of the bay. Loved the high quality French toiletries in the bathroom and the free range organic breakfast. The staff were very accommodating and we felt very at home.
We were in the three bedroom apartment, which would have benefitted from a joiner's handy work to create some more bench space around the fridge to prepare drinks etc.
Sea and Town Views, food, cream tea, evening meal, breakfast all very good and well prepared. The house has a lot of character in many ways with it's major link to Charles Dickens.
The bedroom was not very big, the bathroom was very narrow but useable. Unfortunately the double bed was very soft. We also felt that the room was perhaps over priced at £135.00 per night B&B it should be less that £100.00.
The location and views are excellent. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. It was Folk week and very busy in town but the hotel was really quiet.
The hotel is looking a bit tired, with paint peeling off the ceiling in my room. It needs some redecorating and brightening up, whilst keeping the references to Dickens.
very comfortable, good food, good location, friendly, helpful staff,
Great Location Lovely gardens Comfortable yet historical rooms Relaxed, helpful and friendly staff
Our second stay and yes it is a bit quirky and the building is more than 200 years old but that is all part of its charm. Had a lovely weekend stay waking up to one of the best views in the country. We think the top floor suit of 3 bedrooms at £300 is good value. Highly recommend a stay just for the views.
Some maintenance issues but nothing that spoilt our stay, and yes the parking is a bit difficult but the staff went out of their way to be helpful allowing us to park in their small yard.
lovely hotel, lovely room with some nice touches
sadly the hotel let itself down in 1 respect. It had a very tight and difficult carpark that required guests to block each other in. The hotel desk kept the keys so cars could be moved. This was not a problem but unfortunately the porter, knowing that another party needed their car released at a certain time, waited for my husbands hot breakfast to be served then demanded he immediately go and move the car. Since there were only 3 families being served at that time for breakfast it would not have been hard to either hold the breakfast or plan the car move a little earlier. As it was he came back to a plate of cold food. It was a real shame and spoiled our experience of an otherwise very nice hotel
Location, Accomodation, Facilities
Breakfast: but this was spoken about when manager phoned me at home to discuss my issues and was happy with her explanation
Staff first class. Made very welcome and felt at home
Loved the house, the rooms, all the little extra touches like milk for tea; sherry; bathroom goodies. Great and helpful staff, yummy breakfast
Can't think of anything!
Loved the room and views and we would most definitely stay there again even though I have friends in Broadstairs, we thought the whole experience of staying in your hotel excellent. the location was just fantastic.
The fact that the bedroom we stayed in did not have an on suite. When I ordered 2 drinks at the bar the barman did not know what the difference was between a Whisky or a Bourbon, I had the latter just to get a drink, I also felt that a Gin and tonic and Bourbon and coke costing just under £12 rather expensive.
A house which belonged to Charles Dickens and a favourite. The atmosphere is all there and the house is much the same as in his time. Great position and friendly and helpful staff.
Access and parking are difficult. There is however a public car park close by.
Great location. Lots of little extras that were well thought through. Very good food. Friendly staff. Beautiful garden.
Fantastic view from Charles Dicken suite. comfortable room and facilities. Amazing history of BLeak house. Lovely breakfast with fresh local produce
better extraction needed for the cooking area, cooking smells quite overpowering in our room
