Nothing we could think of!
I booked an ensuite room and this was confirmed on booking.com but Iwas given a room with a separate shower room - v annoying !
regular visitor so knew what to expect - very nice reasonably priced stay
as a beatles fan, it's a shame no pics of stuart sutcliffe are around anymore.
Excellent friendliness staff ,clear room ,wifi connect , bar thx
No restaurant as major redecorating work was underway Twin bedded room that had obviously been used previously by a 'smoker' as there was still a strong smell of tobacco. The so called en-suite was across the hall from the room. The room only had a skylight window which was not double glazed making it very noisy.
Room was too small with uncomfortable beds and poor ventilation. Poor value for money. Small bathroom outside room.
Room very small; shower room small and cold - no heat and no double glazing; wash hand basin not in shower room; no double glazing in bedroom so room cold; lights flickering and not resolved
Nice hotel, lovely location, excellent staff. Weddings on both nights but didn't disturb us. A 10 minute taxi from the centre cost us no more than £7. Bit pricey at £185 per night but would go back.
Bathroom could do with an upgrade as looking a bit tired.
The hotel was well situated for public transport, buses every 5 mins to the city centre. Staff were friendly. The room was very warm and comfortable.
The room was situated near a very busy road, noisy all night. Only one flat pillow on the bed, not enough space in the room. A bit disorganised at breakfast, we had to ask for spoons and hot water.
View over park
Beds were uncomfortable Room over restaurant and bar, very noisy. Lighting on signage at front of hotel shone into room . No room in car park for my car had to park on grass area outside hotel
The reception, the woman who greeted us was friendly, bright and genuinely interested in us. The bar is a really interesting one with a great local history and attachments. The position is at the best corner of Sefton Park, overlooking the boating lake.
Would be perfect with newer mattresses!
Food was good
We have stayed here two times before so we were not pleased when was given a room with no bathroom . We had to cross the landing to get to it and could not get any hot water and was charged the same for a room with a bathroom?
Great restaurant and bar, good staff and nice room.
Location Convenient Friendly staff
Bed was a bit too hard No hot water from the sink tap in the morning
The staff are wonderful in this hotel, particularly the young tall man on reception. I have stayed twice as a last minute decision due to having work done on my house and both times with my dog. The owner was really kind and went out of his way to accommodate me as a woman on my own in a busy hotel for the first night. There was a crowd of men in there watching football and all in good spirits but I felt uncomfortable sitting amongst them to eat so he gave me a table out of the way and I was well looked after and so was the dog who got a bowl of water and treats. I felt safe and comfortable and it is literally facing Sefton Park so I had a lovely view from my window. The second night I was joined by a friend and we had the hot stone fillet steak which was one of the best I've had. Good staff and a great location.
Would/will stay here again. Food very good and location very convenient all round good value for money.
Staff were very friendly and Reception was always staffed. The hotel is visually very appealling and felt very safe. They were very helpful with regards to our visit to Everton Football Ground. The room was nice and big and fire safety features were good. The shower was good. The location was fantastic - right opposite Sefton Park. The bar and restaurant looked lovely and had a great atsophere - we didn't eat there so can't comment on the food.
We struggled to find it due to old signage. The bathroom smelt mouldy all the time, even though the window was open 24 hours! This was very unpleasant. The bed was the hardest I have ever slept on, it was very uncomfortable. The wall between us and our neighbours was clearly not sound proofed at all - she woke us up at 3 a.m. having a long phone conversation - we could hear every word!
room pokey and facilities poor shower dripping and really unclean
The place was lovely very comfy rooms nice view and I like wee smoking area provided outside, will definitely come back and stay again. The breakfast was delicious.
Quiet location on the eastern edge of the city, opposite an attractive park with a superb historic Fern House. Close to frequent bus service into the city, thus avoiding busy traffic and the hassle of parking. Staff pleasant, good food in restaurant. Excellent value at the price paid.
Helpful and friendly staff made travelling with babies much easier. Always smiling and nothing too much trouble.
Shower was tiny and bathroom could do with an update. No telephone in room.
Torn Bedding Cleanliness
it is being updated. will be nice when finished
