Good location by Sefton Park. Staff appeared very young & inexperienced but were friendly. Room was dirty, carpets were filthy, cobwebs all over ceiling, no toilet paper in bathroom. Bedding was stained. Bed was old and grotty. Stairs were dirty and in a state of disrepair. The bar is as you walk through the front doors, lots of people blocking the entrance. No hairdryer as mentioned in description.

This is my third visit to this Hotel and the best one yet, Our room was at the front again affording wonderful views of the park, The bed was the most comfortable yet, and the staff as always were very friendly. The downside of this Hotel is the paper thin walls as you can actually hear people talking but this visit was perfect with no noise to disturb us at all.

The hotel had lots of character and a lovely view overlooking Sefton Park. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The interior was nicely decorated and clean. Our room, the Sefton Suite was beautiful. Being located near to Lark Lane with all its restaurants and bars was also a bonus. We have recommended to our friends and will be returning ourselves.

Lovely friendly staff and lovely atmosphere We stayed in room 7, the smell from the drains was appalling. we had to keep the bathroom door closed. Any stay over one night and I would have asked to be moved.

This is my second stay at this Hotel and the room we had was a lot nicer than the first time, It was spacious and at the front overlooking the park so a great location to people watch and see the ducks and abundant flowers etc. We really liked it, The staff our very helpful and friendly. . The only let down with this Hotel is that the walls are paper thin, Our first nights stay there was a funeral party when we checked in so the bar was heaving which didnt matter at that time as we went for a walk round the park, but later there was a function of some sort so the music went on until midnight, again we accepted that as it wasnt too late but then as we tried to settle down someone had the tv on so loud it was like being in our room and it was on until past two in the morning so we couldnt sleep and was tired out next day, Our next night was more acceptable and we had a good nights sleep, We would stay again as the location is beautiful but it is a shame about the thin walls.

Staff were excellent especially Sarah nothing was too much trouble for her. Noise insulation between rooms non existent and shower facilities in some rooms very poor. If staying for more than couple nights beds not the best.

The location: right next to one of the most beautiful parks in the UK, Sefton Park The connection with Beatles Stayed on the first floor- a bit noisy. Asked staff to turn the music down and they did it straight away:) Next time will try to stay on the top floor.

I liked it was by a lake. I did not like the fact that we paid for a triple bed room and recieved a single and a double bed. Beds were uncomfortable, the bedroom door handle broke and we could not get into the romm for 30 mins. We paid over £200 per room and breakfast was not included. I will never stay here again

Clean linen. Comfortable bed. Pleasant view of the lake. That having arrived very late pm from our flight, we climbed wearily up to our 2nd floor room to find the bathroom windows wide open and the room, and especially the shower tray, spattered with bird droppings. We needed to pour boiling water on them to dislodge them from the shower so they had been there some time. The room was very cold as a result, also no milk or coffee with the tea things. The only response we got to our complaint next morning was 'I'll tell the chambermaid.' Not a word of apology. One of the bedside lights didn't work either. The breakfast, for the money, was unpalatable and lukewarm. We were also not amused, on arrival, to have a provisional £25 put through on our card for pin verification 'in case we damaged the room'. Not recommended, I'm afraid.
