Staff were friendly and helpful. Location, overlooking Sefton Park lake, is picturesque.
Room radiators and 'hot' water (tap) were cold in the evening and throughout the night. Heating and water were perfectly hot in the morning when I needed them (from around 7am).But Room 3, electric shower ceiling power switch was faulty and would not switch on - (And, unfortunately, I had insufficient time available to allow maintenance staff to repair it). So, no shower! Room 3 also suffers somewhat from unwanted light creeping around the curtains, from the flood lighting at the front of the hotel. A hair dryer is provided in the room, but room 3 did not have an electric socket close to either of the two room mirrors. I suspect, from other reviews, that some rooms at this property are in a much better state of repair than others. Next time I stay here (as I am sure that I shall) I shall more carefully check these issues before accepting my allocated room. Overall, on a particularly cold January night, a pleasant visit.
Nice restaurant and food was really good. Breakfast in the morning was really worth it too. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Pillows were none existent and little things in the room were broken like the shower head and curtains... All could've been avoided.
the staff & food excellent. XX
Location to park great local pubs and restaurants
Location ,comfy, friendly staff
Good food in the Irish themed grill/bar
The staff - especially the night manager - were fantastic. Room was good size and warm and comfortable. Great value for money
Staff with great - special mention to Kate, Leanne and Liam - each who have their own strengths and bring something different to the hotel. We were made to feel welcome by staff and owner alike. Loved the fact hotel is animal friendly!! Spent 20 plus days there....and went back for more! Hotel is a good size where you are not treated as just another pound through the door - everyone takes pride in what they do and nothing is ever to much trouble. Fantastic stay - thank you so much for many laughs and good memories. Debra & Carl
Honestly.... shortcomings were irrelevant when measured against the hospitality, price and great people. The hotel is a bit dated, however it needs to be acknowledged that work is happening and will continue till I'm sure Conner has the hotel in the condition that he wants it.
The hotel was located next to Sefton Park. It had been refurbished and had a comfortable bar and restaurant. We got a huge room which we were delighted with. The bar was open to residents until very late. There were excellent connections nearby to the centre and the train station is about a ten minute walk.
The tv and wifi connections were very unstable and went down.
For the price you can't go wrong
I would suggest some of the mattresses were changed, a little worn out
Price and nice neighbourhood.
Huge gap of 1and1/2 at top of window, someone had tried to stuff with tiolet-paper!
Excellent location and staff were very friendly.
No heating and when I tried to adjust the radiator there was still no heat!
LOVELY VIEW OF WATER LAKE AT SEFTON PARK, AND REALLY HELPFUL & FRIENDLY STAFF, WILL BE STAYING AGAIN THERE MANY THANKS!!!!!.
Location in a relaxing park
Too expensive for this class of hotel.
Staff were very helpful paid in advance for breakfast well worth it big portion nice little bar easy check & check out connected to wifi within seconds beds so comfy wash & shower facilities although small ample for single room enjoyed stay
Only downside no lift on top floor hard to carry suitcase up three flight of stairs that's only grumble
Very clean . Helpful staff. Good location
The staff were all brilliant. Couldn't do enough to help and all very friendly Food was excellent for both breakfast and lunch / dinner in the restaurant The location is great
There were small things they could do to make the place so much better: * A soap dish for the shower * A soap dish for the sink * Update the bathroom (the sink was cracked and the shower quite old (but was functional)
Good general facilities, a pleasant bar area and we had a very good evening meal which was very good value
We are unlikely to stay here again as the noise from a disco on site was deafening. We were in room 103 and could not even hear the TV. Don't stay here if you're looking for an peaceful evening or to sleep before midnight. Spoiled it for us. Everything else was good.
Excellent food and service, lovely location overlooking Sefton Park lake. Friendly staff, and a decent glass of lager. Huge rooms with decent shower, comfortable beds and tea/coffee making facilities.
No lift but maybe this would only spoil the feel of the old Victorian mansion?
The views The style of the building
Not enough staff
Nothing we could think of!
I booked an ensuite room and this was confirmed on booking.com but Iwas given a room with a separate shower room - v annoying !
regular visitor so knew what to expect - very nice reasonably priced stay
as a beatles fan, it's a shame no pics of stuart sutcliffe are around anymore.
