Bloomfield House146 Bloomfield Road, BA2 2AS Bath (Show map) Very good, Score from 40 reviews“Karen is a truly teriffic hostess and the house has a quiet grandeur about it. The room was very comfortable and the presence of the owners lovely cats around the house added to the experience. My only criticism would be that I would have liked a hairdrier to be provided in the room. Will definitely be returning to this delightful establishment.”

The town can be reached in a 15/20-minute walk. There is a regular bus route for the return uphill ride. Excellent host who could not do enough to make stay enjoyable. Very knowledgable on area, facilities and places to eat. Excellent breakfasts with a menu to suit all tastes. Room was very well furnished and comfy with a good view across Bath City. Ideally situated for touring the area or just staying in the city, which is about 20 minutes away on foot, or there is a bus stop right outside! If you are taking a dog there is large open park just a 3 minute walk down the hill.

The staff there are really lovely, friendly and kind. Moreover, the decoration of bedroom and bathroom is really good and you will feel warm and comfy while staying in Bloomfield House. Although I like the decoration so much, I still feel that the price is so high. And the house is located on the mountain so you will get really tired to walk there from the bus station or train station or city center even if in the website, it said it is really quite close to them. Take a bus is the must but the price of buses is extremely expensive.

The perfect antidote to those homogenous chains that we all use from time to time. This a family run guesthouse with emphasis on a lovely old house and green values. On arrival we were offered a choice of rooms and actually opted for the smallest bedroom as it was nice and cosy. Top tip - Try the locally sourced chilli sauces with your full english breakfast!!

Really great people who run the hotel, friendly and helpful and interesting to talk to. Wonderful border collie and nice cats! We sat in the garden with a glass of wine and it was lovely and quiet. Our bedroom had a miniscule en-suite bathroom, difficult even to turn around in.

The hostess is very friendly and explain the location of Hotel clearly. Their cats are so cute. 1. I found some bugs in wood closet. 2. If the breakfast is included, it will be better.

The owners are lovely, delightful people, who are truly committed to the eco approach. And the building itself is very charming. While there is a bus stop right outside the hotel, we waited half an hour and said bus never arrived. We had hoped to avoid taking our car into Bath (parking is difficult) but had no choice.

The location is perfect, in walking distance to central Bath but also a serene garden to enjoy a quiet moment. I stayed in room 2 with a larger than double size four poster bed. Karen (the host) pays great attention to detail with tea, coffee, biscuits and milk a plenty in the room. The full english breakfast was delicious and made for a good start to the day, which resulted in often not needing lunch. If you are looking for a place to stay that feels homely but offers independance, good converstion and genuine hosts then Bloomfield is it.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the breakfasts were superb. Also, the walk up from the station was not half as bad as in the reviews I had read. The rooms were very small and worn, the bathrooms even smaller. Considering the price we were paying for the night, we were surpsied that the shower cubicle was broken and the toilet seat was cracked.

The family (and pets) are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was at a very high standard and the ambient music made it very relaxing. We stayed in the four poster room, which was stunningly beautiful with excellent views of the countryside. The house was well themed with antiques throughout. Located within a 20 minute walk into the town centre, the house was very convenient for all the local attractions. Its definitely not anyones fault, but you have to respect that the building is old and that you have to let the water run through for a while before it comes through hot enough to get in the shower. But it didn't really affect our stay at all.

“The location was perfect for visiting Bath's many tourist attractions. The thermal spa and Roman Baths are literally a five minute walk away. The shops are right on your doorstep as is Bath Spa Railway station. The Hotel was ideal - my daughter and I had a lovely large twin-bedded room with en suite facilities. The room had lovely high ceilings and the room was spotless. The beds were so comfortable and we really slept well during our visit. The breakfasts were great. Very enjoyable and comfortable stay. Would definitely stay there again.” Patricia, London |
