The location is fantastic -literally seconds away from shops, bars, restaurants etc The staff here are outstanding - polite, helpful, happy - we could not fault them

The room was very small. The bathroom door could not open fully because the bed was in the way. It got very noisy when the party people decided to leave town. Not helped by the fact that I think the entire plumbing system for the hotel was above our room and kept us awake.

Comfy beds, good tv. Good location

The towel rail in the bedroom was on permanently so it made the room extremely no and we could only open the window 5 inches. There was no air conditioning.

Excellent Food. Excellent Staff Excellent situation - right in the centre of Chester.

We stayed in room 312 right above the entrance to the hotel - thanks to the late night/early morning revellers, we got very little sleep - I was very disappointed as we stayed 3 nights and reception said they were well aware of this problem but can do nothing as the building is listed and cannot have any form of sound proofing installed ??

location great for shopping ,heritage, bars

Chester's one way roads and traffic restrictions make accessing the hotel by car very difficult even with the map given by reception. Immediately next to a night club- Boom Boom till 4am.

The staff were very professional and seemed like they genuinely cared. The cocktails were a nice touch. The dinning was sublime.

It's a bit of a pain getting luggage from the recommended car park but worth it overall.

Close to city centre being 100 yards from the Eastgate and Roman walls. Breakfast was good, like most hotels these days, with a wide choice of cold and hot food.

Room was small and stuffy with 1 window which would not open. Extractor in bathroom either did not work or was ineffective. I complained and had us moved to a much larger twin with large window. Car park is some distance and lifts only work when shops were open which on Sunday was limited. No-one offered to help with bags even though we are both 70 plus.Restaurant expensive except on some days when it was 50% off!! But they try to keep it quiet because they have only 1 chef! A very limited and peculiar choice of main dishes...."specials" were the same for 3 days running. A puzzling arrangement with the car park and unlike other hotels who give you a replacement ticket. double yellow lines outside hotel made leaving hectic.

The room was clean and attractive

The size of the room was poor for the money paid and the bathroom was a joke very difficult to get in and to sit on the loo was almost impossible

Dinner selection was not very good. Food was too hot to eat, obviously had been microwaved before being brought to the table conversely the vegetables were not cooked properly. £4 for a bottle of beer seems a little excessive! No staff in the restaurant when guest arrived for breakfast, some of the food was still covered insufficient serving tongs.........long wait for uncooked toast, a shambles!!!

The location really is nice and convenient for getting around the town by foot

There is a club downstairs. I was completely unaware of this and the music was so loud that I originally thought it was coming from my neighbour's room right next to me rather than 2 stories below me! It made for an awful night's sleep. Also the restaurant staff were rude. They seemed off put that I wanted tap water vs bottled water.

The hotel is right in the city centre with access to all the shops and bars. Ideal for a weekend away

Unfortunately the parking is a challenge as the hotels shares it's car park with another hotel a few hundred yards away. It's also relatively expensive for parking too

Location is easy to walk to all sites, shops & restaurants, excellent. All staff were so friendly & helpful they were a real, pleasure.

No air conditioning in the rooms on a very hot weekend which made sleeping a challenge. We were provided with fans, but it was still very hot in those bedrooms.

hotel, bar area, reception staff, room, courteousness, cleanliness, quality of the room and furnishings.

In all aspects of the dining breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast: Very overpriced. Milk was off. Coffee and tea took 20 mins to be served. forgetfulness meant no toast, length of time to serve was excruciating long. No many people to serve. Lunch. Took 45/50 mins to finally receive - gave us 10 mins to eat. 10 mins for first drinks, 20 mins for second drinks (we had to leave before they were served as heading for the races. Very very very slow. Ceasar salad very very poor. Dinner: Table booked for 8.30. Hardly any diners. (after much pushing as was told there was a party in other room and the chef couldn't cope - quote). Finally sat at table at 9.30pm. Ate at 10:00pm. Prices were very high considering - feel that MacDonalds are trying high end food which is good - but are falling short with the excellence that needs to accompany it. Definitely not worth the £300.00 per night paid. And would not recommend until their timings and service improves to demand such prices.

Very nice hotel. We arrived early and our room was available which was convenient. Not noisy. No air conditioning but the windows opened and room was cool enough as it was summer. Bathroom clean. Included breakfast was very nice and filling with good variety and choice and staff were very courteous and helpful. Within long walking distance from train station and just outside the old town wall which was a fantastic location close to all shops and cathedral.
