Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel    

1 week prior to my visit, the hotel tried to change my booking to another hotel for some reason. Although it was dealt with over the phone and I did not have to change I was annoyed that it happened in the first place given that I had booked so well in advance as it is one of the busiest times in Chester. This gave me an overall negative opinion about the hotel.

Aloof restaurant staff, some decor needs attention to maintain the 4-star feel.

location, staff very good but were unable to do anything about my complaint of uncomfortable bed untuned TV.

uncomfortable and hard bed, television not tuned and very poor picture, seal on shower screen leaked so pool of water in bathroom every time it was used. Inconveinient plugs for kettle, very expensive breakfast, restaurant very expensive and whil the service was good there was no bread and butter put on the table and we had to ask for water. We were on the 3rd floor and so our room was in the roof it was very hot and we had to turn off the radiator and open the window in order to keep cool even though it was April. Unfortunately, there is a night club opposite and on our 2nd night it went on until 4 am so we had to close the window but we could still hear the music and people outside making a noise so we were kept awake by that also.

Fantastic location, very near everything in the city centre.

There was no free wlan, we had to pay £10 for 24 hours access / 1 unit. No hair-drier in the room. We had to wait 10 minutes before seating at breakfeast day 1, and more than half an hour for the British breakfeast. No good idea when you are hungry in the morning. A lot of sound from the disco at night.

Very noisy from night club till 5 am. The cleaners hoovered outside our room at 9 am on Saturday morning

Being in the town center and everything accessible on foot was one of the reasons we chose to stay at New Blossoms. Historically very interesting I e the walls, the Cathedral and visited the zoo which was amazing and a good bus service to access it. Also the shuttle bus into town center from the railway station.

The night life lasted on the street well into the night and was disturbing. I think this is a problem in many towns when the younger folk have too much to drink.

Been quite few times. Feel staff very helpful,rooms lovely very clean,breakfast great.

Breakfast - scrambled egg was very disappointing being overcooked and not very hot

The room was clean and tidy. Room service was fast and food very good.

I was in room 116. It was by a flat roof outside and the window didn't lock. This was a security risk.

Did report to the Receptionist that our bed was very noisy and had trouble sleeping. Also the Waiters on Night shift were not that helpful nor very friendly.

Staff were very kind and helpful, my husband was ill whilst we were there and they were super. Bathroom was nice.

Pillows were awful, very flat. The room was small and overlooked the entire air conditioning unite, against that it was very quiet.

the staff were so friendly and helpful. it was our daughter'S 21st and they put A little welcombe gift in her room and nothing was too much trouble. andrew on reception was particularly helpful and it was his idea about the gift in the room. they also let us have A small side room for breakfast where we could sit and relax and start our celebrations . this is A wonderful hotel and I will be visiting again

the rooms did not have any views but because we were out all day and in the evening it did not really matter but if I was staying there for A long weekend then I would be upset if I had to look at A brick wall everytime I looked out of the window

The room lay out and location above a club, the chairs to watch the TV were very uncomfortable.

Asked for quiet room due to lots of bad reviews and so did get a good room. Liked the heat, nice to come back in from cold! Location brilliant!

Cost of breakfast.....went out for this as £17.50 each is ridiculous!!

The only thing i could comment on a negative basis would be that They had No Fillet steak when we Eat there.. which i really wanted and we did Eat Early On so that was a Surprise for it Not to be avaiable... How ever the waitress did a very Nie Gesture for the inconvience ... Nothing Major

Very nicely located for shopping nightlife Our 2nd visit. Enjoyed stay.

Unfortunately I was poorly this visit stomach bug I think so this restricted my husband and I slighty :( Nothing to do with hotel of course.
