For the price it was fine. The food was very good and the staff were very helpful.
Bed was not very comfortable. The rooms are outside of the pub next to the car park. NO WIFI in the room.
Great atmosphere in the pub, excellent food and friendly staff
Comfortable, friendly pub, good excellent and service was great.
Noise of traffic passing on main road a bit of a pain. Accommodation in form of chalets and accommodation door opens straight outside near car park.
Nice comfortable room. The excellent and friendly staff are a credit to the establishment. The continental breakfast was very good, and the evening meals fabulous - highly recommended.
Close proximity to venue and motorway Quiet location Good parking
Not clean bathroom Bed lights not working Shoddy decor Terrible wifi
On our arrival we were greeted by the duty manager who saw to us straight away even though the bar was packed to the rafters with rugby supporters whch is why we were there. The food served at this pub is excellent and the location was just a five minute walk fro the Chiefs ground at Sandy Park.
We were put in chalet room number 1 which is by the roadside, although the room was modern and clean it was very cold with very low heating. The thermostat didnt seem to work on the radiator but at night the heating seemed to have a mind of its own and was on full blast. Also the hand basin plug stayed firmly plugged, the shower drain was blocked so when showering the water overflowed into the bathroom. I informed a member of staff the next day as i checked out but she didnt seem at all interested, as opposed to the manager on our arrival.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was excellent value for money with self service teas and coffees. Next time I come I will eat in the restaurant. I would definitely come back.
We couldn't get WiFi in the room or the pub
Loved every thing but the bed was uncomfortable. Location was good, food was superb.
The only thing we did not like was the bed. It could do with a couple of chairs in the room. Heating was 'off' when we arrived and it was not 'welcoming' on our arrival, although this quickly changed once we had turned it on.
Comfortable accessible room
Very poor WiFi in room, but better in Bar.
The staff were extremely polite and helpful. Lovely room which was very comfortable. Food in the restaurant was fantastic
May need to clean under the beds every now and then.
This place is a hidden gem, hidden away from the motorway but close to J30, Westpoint and Exeter. The staff are a credit to the owners, could not be more helpful, the rooms are comfortable and very clean. Then there is the food... breakfast huge and very very good, but if you want something slightly smaller then nothing is too much trouble. The evening meals were the highlight of our day, excellent choice and quality and very good value. We are booking for next year as soon as possible.
There was nothing to fault, if we were being picky, the WIFI was not so good , please put larger cups/mugs in the rooms and although there was soap and handcream in the bathroom there was nothing to shower with but to be honest for the value and service we received it really didn't matter!
Location and the bar
Radiator not working and cold showers !!
Beautiful 15th Century Building. Cosy and welcoming Bar. Friendly & hospitable staff. Clean rooms with Tea & Coffee making facilities. Comfortable supportive and warm bed. Free Car Park. Delicious food and breakfast.
Central heating wasn't working but there was a small fan heater which was adequate. WiFi did not reach from the bar area to our room.
Easy location, Lovely staff, very clean room.
Daughter was uncomfortable in the beds. No blind on the velux window, so too light for us.
The food was very good and the location is good with ample parking.
The bed was very small and uncomfortable.
Staff! They were amazing! So helpful, friendly and forth coming. Great pub to relax in, and we did not hear any noise from within our room. Plenty of free parking, with easy ground level access to our room
Wifi didn't work in our room. It was patchy in the pub. They said they were fixing it, but didn't happen while we were there.
Room size. Cleanliness.
No blind on he large velux window. Shower cubicle door did not close properly.
service. Nothing was a problem. Late check in was nice :)
A beautiful 18th century main building, the rooms are located in a separate building to the side. Comfortably furnished, the rooms give a homely feel with nice high ceilings.
If staying during the winter months you may find the rooms rather cold and there is no obvious way to control the radiators.
Great traditional pub with comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price and well placed for a stop over following a rugby match at Sandy Park
Ease and friendliness of the staff. Cleanliness Temperature of room Carparking outside Excellent menu
Good friendly welcome on arival the room warm clean and lashings of hot water. Good old inn good beer good food at a good price and a good full english in the morning would recomend to friends and will use again
We found except for the shower the facilities were very good. The many times we have driven passed this place we have not called in as we do not drink alchol .We would like to thank the owners and staff very much.
We did not like theshower as there was no grab rail or anything else to help us older people or even a plastic stool to sit down to wash your feet. This is something you could consider but need not be left in the room depending on the age of visitors.
Friendliness of staff Cleanliness of room Fantastic shower Delicious food
Food for lunch . Excellent Beer .
Plastic glasses for beer
