pleasant cheerful staff secure storage for our bikes honest home-cooked style of food proximity to Burton Agnes Hall
institutional rather cold atmosphere, decor and layout strong smell of disinfectant! rather characterless grounds dominated by car park and gaudy childrens play equipment
Comfy rooms. Good food. Locals
Rooms a bit cramped.
The condition of the property throughout is excellent very well appointed ! Not noisy although close to the highway..not expensive...
The initial room we were given key to was not prepared ! There was no issue as the replacement was fine.

Everything, it was great.
The staff were friendly and helpful, food and drink good value, wi-fi worked well
This was my second stay. First about 18 months ago was much better in a nice room within the main building. Clean warm and cosy. This stay I was put in a ground floor room with outside access and it was very spartan with a tiled floor, no furniture, people going to adjoin rooms could gawp in the window - well below expectations. The breakfast area, which was not in operation on my last stay, seemed to be in a large function room which was also tiled floor, no windows and it had a spartan institutional feel. Breakfast choice a bit minimal. No fruit, limited cereal, no choice of crosissants etc. I've had much better breakfast at other hotels at this price level.
Staff friendly. Good food.
Stayed in garden room....Bed was on casters so when you sat up against headboard (which was on the wall), the bed moved away n you ended up lying backwards.!! Bathroom was. 'compact' n toilet was VERY close to one side of wall...! Not much leg room..!!
I didn't like anything about our stay
Where do I begin?!? I didn't like the room we were given, I booked a superior room and were given a disabled one. The pub appeared to be the main focus. When we arrived there was no one to book us in apart from in the bar. There was empty beer glasses and general rubbish everywhere. We were seated in the pub to eat our evening meal rather than the dining room, and it was very busy and noisy. The food wasnt worth what was being charged. Breakfast was very disappointing. I had booked my dog in to stay but as we were in a disabled room, fully tiled floor, she couldnt settle at all.The staff were not very friendly and were inexperienced. If I'm going to pay £82.50 for a night away - next time I will book a Holiday Inn!
The staff were lovely the room was a big family room lovely surroundings and staff work really hard thank you .
The location of the room behind the kitchen very was busy at all hours and quite noisey at times
The poor quality beds, small rooms and even smaller bathrooms. We were shown to a room still dirty from the previous occupant, then shown to another before deciding to finally give us number 15. Poor quality food but the price is cheap if you are on a budget
Breakfast was OK.
Tried to check in twice 3pm - room not ready and 9 pm no staff around. Ignored at bar by unfriendly staff! Room too small for family room, carpets dirty and room damp.
very nice rooms nice people would go again
Food was good. Room was good. Convenient to get to. Comfy beds. Staff very pleasant
A bigger bathroom was needed for a family of 4.
excellant quality fittings in rooms, good food and friendly staff
childrens play area where many parents did not supervise their children but this is not the fault of the hotel.
We were a family my wife and I and 2 great grandchildren aged 7 and 3 and as soon as we arrived we new they would be happy with slides, crazy golf and lots of space to run around. the food and staff were very good and as were allowed to eat our meal in our room that was a bonus
Location of our room which was self contained from the hotel. Very quiet location in the evening which enabled us to have a good night's sleep. Had one evening meal which was ok. Cooked breakfast was plentiful and well cooked.
I booked the disabled room for 2 nights due to recovering from a broken leg and ankle. After showering, the wet room was like a paddling pool due to the water not draining away quickly. This was not acceptable due to my disability. I complained to the staff who supplied us with a mop and extra towels to soak up the water. The next day on return to the room, it had not been serviced. I had to complain again and to keep me happy said they would reduce my bill by £10 (How generous). It was very noisy during the day due to the bouncy castles which made you want to leave the hotel to chill out. I suppose you have to expect this in school holidays. Breakfast would have been better if yogurts and fruit had been on offer. I will certainly not be staying at this hotel again I only booked due to my circumstances and could have ended up with another broken leg due to the condition of the wet room!!!
Receptionist/Waitress and general office girl was excellent.Hardly saw anyone else
Having been to the hotel some years ago, it has gone down hill fast. Few staff, facilities eg Ice Cream Parlour and conservative restaurant closed the former because of a shortage of staff. Bar service terrible. Seemed more bothered with passing bar trade than residents.
Clean hotel room, idea for what we wanted
At night the staff in the bar appeared a little confused with bills being charged to rooms, tried to charge us for items we had already paid for
- Free Wi-Fi throughout the building, which was even great in the rooms. - 6 miles from the coast - food good - really friendly staff - Superior rooms well furnished
- No fan in (hot) rooms - Noise between rooms
friendly and helpful staff.
Staff very welcoming and cheerful. Large and and comfortable room. Good breakfast. Just a few minor quibbles which if addressed would raise my ratings to excellent. I have sent email to hotel with some feedback.
A little bit disorganised but don't let this put you off as staff very helpful and quickly did best to put things right.
Booked this place because it sounded really nice place which in a round a bout way it was but when we arrived there were no staff on the reception just a note saying go round to the front. Walked in the front and that was the bar, told the barman that we had a booking so he said follow me and he took us back to the reception and gave us a key and showed us our room and quickly left. We had a meal that night but the surrounding was like a truckers cafe. Barman multi tasking as a barman come waiter. Room was small with matching bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was in a conservatory with again only one staff member flying around doing everything. On checkout we found out were all the staff was, they were on the reception taking your money.! Got the feeling we were more of an hindrance than a guest. Not worth the money they charge. A Travelodge has more atmosphere than this place and more staff.
nice room. good breakfast. friendly staff.
Friendliness of staff. We had a problem with the shower but a solution was found quickly.
Too few staff - they are excellent but have to multitask too much - felt guilty therefore asking for extra coffee at breakfast etc. poor internet access
The staff were very friendly & helpful. We ate in the brasserie on one occasion; the food was very good but the brasserie was more like a bar.
We were in a "garden" room - soundproofing could be better.
