This 18th-century Victorian building has a superb central location in London's Notting Hill neighborhood. The famous Portobello Road and market are around a 15 minute walk away. Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus and High Street Kensington are a 10 minute drive from Blue Bells Hotel. Hyde Park and Holland Park are just over a 10 minute walk from the building. There are plenty of buses to the very heart of central London and the West End, which guests can catch from the nearby A40 road. Notting Hill Gate London Underground (subway) Station is less than a 5 minute walk away. Rooms at the Blue Bells all have a TV and tea and coffee facilities, and there is free Wi-Fi in public areas of the building. Guests should note that the hotel does not have an elevator. This Hotel should be taken off the booking.com listing as it gives you a bad reputation Compared to all the other Hotels we stayed in this place is the pits The room was so small you had to go outside to change your mind There is a metro tube running directly beneath the Hotel and every 5 minutes there is a rumbling sound like bad weather and the whole room shakes - not very good for sleeping One of the other customers was trying in vain to change a dirty pillow that had no pillow casing and he was just shrugged off The breakfast is very poor - cereal and toast only When booking out we came down the stairs to find a lady sleeping on the stair landing - she had made an internet booking, but arrived to find the Hotel was full. She had to use the staff washing rooms which were rat infested

Perfekt location, good large size room, clean hotel, nice staff, free internet. The bed was a little old and "dingy" og the shower was at times cold.

Nice hotel in perfect location! We had two rooms, the double was very small, barely fitting the queen size bed, while the 3bed room was great in size. They forgot to clean the rooms one of the days.

1) The staff in reception was very helpful. 2) The location (near the tube underground station Notting Hill Gate). 1) Lack of elevator. 2) Poor breakfast. 3) In my room there was not enough place to put my belongings.

Our original double room was a disaster. However the hotel upgraded us to a tripple room. This room was definitely my money;s worth. It was newly renovated. Another thing good about the hotel was that the linen and towels were clean and changed regularly. Overall me and girlfriend had a pleasant stay. However I would not have stayed in my original double room. There was some disturbance by our neighbors however I cant blame the hotel for that.

Very good location (Notting Hill Gate is one of the three best underground stations in London to choose from when it comes to frequent travelling within the city). Not too close to the station, nor far away from facilities. Nice view below 3rd floor. Fridge. Kind staff. Full bathroom. 24h reception. Very poor breakfast. Hot/cold water temperature in the bath climbs up&down randomly. A bit small room compared to 3-star hotels, no space for walking next to an opened-up normal-sized luggage.

The location in Notting Hill, close to the tube was great. The bed was good and the bathroom clean and ok. It was quite noisy as my neighbours talked loud and watched (loud)television till late evening. I had to sleep with ear plugs. Suggestion: max volume on televsiion or remove tv's from the rooms. Ask guests to be quiet as the walls are thin or do somethin to the rooms regarding noise reduction.

The hotel has not even the basic facilities and should not be considered as a 3 star hotel. There were no heating in the room even though it was mid November. We could not have a proper sleep since you could hear loud and clear inside the room the underground. Last but not least there are rooms which are on the second basement (like a dungeon) while there is no such info on the description.

The hotel was clean enough and well located in Notting Hill Gate. For £50 it did the job. I found that the room was a little old fashioned and could have done with a lick of paint but for me the main disappointment is that the two members of staff that I met were pretty unpleasant and it seemed that I was disrupting their day.

The reception manager was welcoming and friendly, the bed was comfortable, bedding and towels were spotless and the bathroom nice and clean. The room was at a good temperature and plenty of hot water. It was close to all amenities - tube travel and shops. For the price it was excellent value and I would definitely stay again. The carpets and walls/paintwork/ bathroom tiles were very tired looking and there were no lampshades. The tv remote didnt work - I couldn t get itv. The breakfast didnt start until 8 and I had to leave at 7. Would have been nice to have just a hot drink and croissant before I left.

Have stayed twice at the blue bells. The location is just perfect, clean spacious rooms, a very good value for money. Have found this website very useful to book hotels around the world in many occasions. The only down side of the Blie Bells hotel are the night receptionists, who tend to be unfriendly, in the two diferent occasions I stayed ther, they have asked to make the payment in cash, which I had on me but if I didn't have it with me?. Why couldnt I pay by card, if at the moment of booking I have used cards. I felt discriminated for being young and black. I have even had my ad photocopied last time. Didn't understand being discriminate for Asian receptionists. It's a strange procediment in a hotel in England.

Its location - I think if it was redecorated & the staff more friendly then it would be a very good place to stay. I found it adequate & cheap for London which was good I thought the staff were not friendly or helpful enough. The room needed redecorating. The window would not lock & the doors - bathroom & main did not have an extra safety lock on them
