Score from 239 reviews Good
Staff good, hotel cleanliness good, breakfast good.
If you stay somewhere for more than one night then it is important to have drawer and wardrobe space! Room really hot with lots of noise from the road.
Good food, good location and friendly staff
The bedr mattress was very uncomfortable and the let down
The pub was comfortable and cozy yet with modern touch.
Parking was a major issue which had we known the difficulty we would have booked elsewhere
Food, bed rooms, friendly staff
The room was clean with a view of the market square very pleasant room.
Breakfast was totally awful the food was unpleasant my scrambled eggs where over cooked my partner had the full English, eggs under cooked, sausage in edible, bacon tough, black pudding nasty, jam in little pots had been used before. no coffee, no bowls for cereal no glasses, I could go on but it was dreadful.
Lovely location, good food and busy atmostphere.
Having to keep window shut at night because of noise of late night revellers! However fan provided was greatly appreciated.
Easy access to Witney, ground floor bedroom suitable for wheelchair with fantastic wetroom. The breakfast was delicious.
The number of doors we had to negotiate to get to our room and hearing them all slamming at 7am onwards Monday morning as others came and went.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, my room was lovely I liked being at the front looking over the square. The food was exellent and the ambience was good.
The TV in my room should have been on the wall opposite the bed, having it on the side wall was difficult. The noise from the locals hanging about at 3pm in the porch of the fast food place opposite was awful, not your problem I know, maybe close the porch off when they close. They were louder than the storm!
The staff were friendly. The food was nice.
The temperature of the room. The location of the room due to noise from the function room.
Lovely room with large bed and bathroom. Food was well cooked and presented. Staff very helpful even though there was obviously new staff in training. Bar staff supplied us with ice to have in our room as very warm.
Room was over the open seating area and so noisy until late at night but we had a fan on all the time due to it being soooo hot so we soon "zoned out" the outside noise. Room was very warm and air con would have been fab but a fan was in the room.
Friendliness and helpfulness of all staff at the Blue Boar. Large Bedrooms, clean and very welcoming. Would definitely stay again when in the Witney area.
All of it
No hotel parking
It's central based
With the pub beer garden near all the accommodation rooms it can get noisey
Rooms were lovely and so was the food
High street was quite noisy until early hours
The location was excellent for us as it is in the centre of Witney. It made walking everywhere very pleasant. The breakfasts were brilliant value for money.
Even though we requested a double standard room we ended up with a very small very hot double room. As I was staying there with my 22 year old daughter this was not ideal. As the hotel was fully booked we were unable to move so were given a tiny zed bed which made the room even more cramped. The next day we were given another room for my daughter to stay in, however this room was infested with ants and she had to move rooms again. Although this was a small nightmare we were given 50% off the bill. And the staff did try their best to fix the problem.
Nice clean room, good central location, nice breakfast and friendly attentive staff
A little expensive for what is still a pub. Room although clean was beginning to show signs of wear, which I expect a hotel of this price to keep on top of.
Fantastic room, comfortable large bed, excellent shower, awesome and friendly staff (despite how busy they were), tasty and reasonably priced food, great bar which serves cocktails as well as some local Wychwood beers. I have stayed in many English hotels and I can honestly say this has by far been the best.
Very attentive staff and a fabulous breakfast.
No parking although staff advised of local spaces.
Exceptional courtesy and helpfulness of staff, particularly at reception. Definitely a hotel to consider when staying at or around Witney. Parking was easy and close to hotel. Get in and try it before the price goes up . . . .
Tea and coffee with hot water from a jug was not what one expects, but what else did I not like? I can not think of anything else, really.
lovely rooms, great breakfast, only wish we'd stayed here longer!
Recent refurbishment. Good quality room. Excellent facilities. Good dinner.
Function room under our room didn't stop functioning until midnight. Lack of parking provision. Poor breakfast - tea self-made using hot water from a jug. Cooked part cold.
Bedroom very nice and clean
Breakfast was awfull wife had porridge which came out solid in the bowl, coffee came stone cold was replaced with a cup of tar. The lady who served us said she didn't understand much English and a lot of the staff were standing around laughing and joking with each other. Not very professional
The staff were super friendly and polite. The food was absolutely scrumptious. My friend and I felt very well looked after. A well deserved 10/10. I hope I get another chance to stay here.
Convenient location. Good food. Friendly helpful staff.
Emergency Exit sign in bedroom cast a green glow at night making it difficult to sleep. There were shutters for the window but no conventional or net curtains which would have afforded privacy and ventilation. King size winter duvets on the single beds were far too warm for mild weather. No free car parking available nearby.
room for disabled people was very good, very friendly staff, lunch was super, compliments to the kitchen,
parking was a problem for disabled people, 10 mins walk, breakfast was fairly unorganised, staff not yet well trained, at 9.00h there was only little continental breakfast left for self service, noisy at the weekend: rooms into the restaurant/pub yard
