As soon as we arrived we were made very welcome with a cup of tea and a very friendly chat with Gillian and Paul. The room was very prettily decorated and all linens spotless, bathroom likewise. Breakfast was so substantial that my wife had to cut down on the amount on the second day of our stay! Within walking distance of beach and shops and for us being seniors the bus services were ideal and much more frequent than where we live. The number 12 Hop on bus travels between Newton Abbott, Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, so you can have numerous days out and the views are second to none. We can recommend the Agatha Christie bus trip to Greenway, the author's summer residence (National Trust). Nothing at all.

I chose the Blue Waters lodge because of the high scoring from other guest. This proved to be a good decision. This trip was for convalescence after a nasty operation, before I set off Gillian phoned me to explain the twin room I had chosen was on the second floor and would I like to change, I explained climbing two flights of stairs was not a problem and the room would be fine. This was typical of the care and consideration that Gillian and Paul provide for their guest. I particularly liked the immaculate bathroom. My working life is spent in hotel rooms on business. There was nothing to dislike.

It was clean and centrally located We were given a twin room up two flights of stairs - in the roof. One bed was against the outside wall and under the window, consequently was quite cold. The wardrobe was too small to hang dresses in and I hung them on the back of the door. The TV was on top of the wardrobe and so the best viewing position was lying on one of the beds! Mrs Butterworth omitted to mention that there were yellow lines on all surrounding streets as well as parking meters. Less than ideal.

Gillian & Paul made us so very welcome and took every effort to ensure our stay was both comfortable and enjoyable throughout. Nothing. Our expectations were clear before we arrived and were exceeded during our stay.

The freedom to come and go as we pleased. The fixed early breakfast served between 0800 and 0830. We were on a break and did not enjoy having to get up before 0800 to make it for breakfast.

Gillian and Paul were fantastic hosts, nothing was to much trouble. The family room we booked was great it had plenty of space and was cleaned to perfection, more like an apartment than a room. The breakfast menu had lots of choices and was cooked to our liking, We would recommend this hotel to family and couples . Excellent we cant wait go again next year xx

It was like home from home. The owners, Gillian and Paul were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. As for the guest house, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful, tasty and well presented. Would recommend this guest house to anyone. You will not be disappointed.

The hosts , Gillian and Paul , we're exceptionally helpful , and very courteous and all round nice people . Paul helped by taking the luggage to our room , which was very clean , and even ran another elderly couple to the station . If you want to know anything about local attractions , just ask , nothing is too much trouble . Very comfortable place to stay . The weather wasn't too good on our stay , but I'm sure that if it was possible , Gillian & Paul would even get the sun shining , give it a try , you never know !

Room was absolutely pristine and spotless. Lashings of hot water, comfortable bed, en suite and a breakfast that catered for all tastes. Both the host and hostess were affable, friendly and only to glad to assist. I do a fair bit of traveling ( 6 to 8 International journeys per year) and must say that Blue Waters Lodge is definitely up there with the very best. In fact because of both its size and nature ( host and hostess are owners) I felt that it had a more personal and intimate service. If anything - but I do accept that it is the locale rather than the service, is the Wi fi - that had a tendency to drop out. Conversely, if you are on holiday, do you need the internet!

gill and paul were the perfect host nothing was too much trouble, they were warm and friendly especially with the children, who absolutly adored them,In fact they keep asking when we are going again, late summer looks good at the moment, the children who were my 2 grandaughters 7 and 11 years old had a twin bedded room in our room but joined by a passageway a really a good idea. I really cannot express enough how much of a delight it was, please try it.we very much hope to visit soon chris baber
