The 'ascot' room that we stayed in was very convenient for the
less able-bodied guests as there were no stairs to negotiate - making
extremely easy and safe access to the room-- however there was no safety
grab-rail within the bath/ shower ,which proved to be a problem for
the less mobile person in our party. . this is surely a health and
safety requirement ?
The room was warm , well equiped and very comfortable -- completely self-
contained , which is a nice feature if you respect your privacy . the
bed was cosy , comfortable , and spare blankets were provided in the
wardrobe. There was also a fan heater which was a nice touch , as the
room was heated by under-floor heating only - and sometimes ,
especially after a long journey , a blast of heat is appreciated. .
finding breakfast things stored in the fridge was a nice feature -
although we were pleased that we had taken fresh fruit with us to
supplement the toast and cheeses. Over-all , a nice place to stay for a
short stop-over . . we are surprised that we did not receive any form
of receit for the cash that we handed the owner , barbara , when we
arrived at bluebell house.
